The Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC), Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry has said that corruption seems to be involved in purchase of dengue vaccine and the court will not allow playing with human lives. During hearing of an application about the spread of the dengue virus here Friday, the
CJ said that the responsible behind the dengue pandemic would be made an example. He instructed the DCO Lahore and Secretary Health Punjab to present a report by 23rd September as to what measures have been taken to control the spread.
The court also said that details be provided at the next hearing on 23rd September about the areas where spray has been done. The court was of the view that the fumigation should have been conducted earlier in the year. He said either the insecticide was not purchased or only on papers. During the proceedings, a counsel demanded murder charges against the responsible.
