An open letter to 'Pakistanis' from 'Pakistan'

Print Friendly and PDF

Assalam-o-Alaikum, I am Pakistan.

Although I was physically born on the 14th of August 1947 but ideologically when the first Hindu entered the premises of Islam. Ever since my birth, 65 years have passed yet for some reason, I stand alone.  In these 65 years, I saw both ebb and flow but as a matter of fact I faced more hardships than  joys. Even after covering 65 years of my life, I feel myself feeble, lonely and friendless. At times I feel that I was born old, there is an aged man hidden inside me from day one, may be because I used to dwell in the hearts of many people from a very long time. 65 years is a great span of life to achieve something, to get standing at a peak where others have to raise their heads to see you. Ain't it? But sighs... I have my friend China, who was just around 2 years younger than me but now excels me in every aspect of her life, so much that now she's going to be the great super power of the world while I, the elder one would stand behind her. This is indeed saddening for me.  I feel depressed and gloomy whenever I  ponder upon the factors and the reasons behind my lagging behind.

I was born to a great person, Jinnah, who had turned Quaid-e-Azam by that time. Indeed he was a man of matchless attributes. Just and honest -- fair and dignified. His highly esteemed character compelled even his worst enemies to pay him utmost respect and honour. He was the great Quaid -- My beloved founding father! I was just a year old when my beloved father departed from this world and left me alone among angels and devils.  I remember, although I was small, but I could still recall how chaste, compassionate and modest Quaid was. He was a man of great salvation. His connection with Allah (God) and the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w) was highly mystical and fascinating. Many a times, I saw him prostrated, miserably crying like a child in solitude. That sight used to be heart-touching and soul-shaking by God. It used to make my eyes fill with tears too.

When I grew a little bigger, I slowly learnt how Jinnah transformed to Quaid. It was due to the blessed relationship with Iqbal that Jinnah turned to Quaid. Iqbal whom the wise call a great man of Allah, a faqeer, darwaish and a mard-e-Qalander (saint) was a direct mentor of my Quaid. Iqbal was the person who did spiritual upbringing of Quaid and trained him to be the soldier of Allah. From Quaid's brought up one could easily imagine how spiritual, mystical and pious his mentor would have been.

My founding father along with his companions; Liaqat Ali Khan, Sardar Abdurrab Nishtar etcetra laid my foundation on purely Islamic basis. They wanted my social model to be based upon Islamic socialism and my economy to be free from  western model of interest and Riba based economy. By birth, I had essence of Islam in my roots which I inherited from my founding fathers so my inclination towards Islam was magnificent.

After the departure of my founding fathers, I was left alone in the hands of my steps. At some point in time I was also hijacked totally and completely by the foreign forces who caused a severe damage to my Ideological and spiritual essence. Today I lag behind only because I was maltreated by my steps who compelled me to do what I was not meant for.

They put me into debates of democracy and dictatorship not realizing this could be highly hazardous for me. They imposed democracy on me which was against my nature and I could no longer keep my people prosper, happy and contented. This democracy brought looting and plunder on a wide scale on my ground and I kept watching silently. It brought anarchy, chaos and bloodshed and I kept weeping tears of blood. It snatched justice, law and order from my land and I could do nothing. The most heartless and cruel thing my fosters could do to me was imposing Secularism on my sacred land. I was forced to see gayism, lesbianism, homosexuality, dance parties, night pubs get common while my heart used to bleed. The ladies of my land who were once honored and regarded more than that of any other land, depraved their own self by welcoming and embracing the evil of secularism.

My childhood neighbor India, who on her own took me as an enemy whereas I used to cherish her as a friend, actually turned into my worst enemy for some reason I was unaware of. Whenever I extended a friendship hand towards her, she would hurt me by stabbing in my back. Eventually I started disliking  & avoiding her. During the reign of Democracy, the cruel rulers and so called champions of Secularism started selling me to India for a few dollars. They compromised my waters to India, leaving my people to starve out, my economy dwindling. They deployed a media on my land which was a direct mouth piece of India and used to propagate lies and deception against me. It also imported India's nasty ideology and Hindu culture to corrupt my unwise nation.

There also existed a heap of pseudo intellectuals on my land who were anti-Islam and pro-Secularism in nature and aimed at weakening my ideological roots. They abused my Quaid by tagging him secular and propagating lies against him in large number. They also wanted to eliminate the existence of Iqbal from my land in order to mark him irrelevant. This all was being done through a sinister conspiracy plotted against me very cunningly but I stood silent; all alone.

Later, the dirty leadership combined with the secular pseudo intellectuals and the fifth columnist media started maligning and undermining my only guardians - the armed forces of my land. I could always feel to the core of my heart how selflessly and zealously my Jawans used to protect my borders and my soil against the Hindu or any other aggression.

This all shook my roots and always hurdled me in my way to progress. Quaid laid the foundation of my progress in Islamic socialism. Once it was uprooted from me, expecting me to progress was absurd. You might be thinking despite so much resistance and opposition, even after so many endeavors to shatter me, I still stand safe and protected with my nuclear assets and will keep standing safe like this. How? I know the secret behind it.

I am a blessed land who has the shadow of special blessing of Rasool Allah (s.a.w.w) upon and I'm destined to do what all other countries are not. Despite the fact that mostly corrupt regimes have ruled me, I am hopeful that one day I'll be ruled and owned by Patriots who would be Nigah Buland, sukhan dilnawaz, jaan pursooz. Who would be sweet and tender among friends and hard as an Iron among enemies. I know who they are, where they are. Had I not been foretold about the brightest of futures I have, I would have collapsed in the very beginning. Since I know my destiny, my faith never fades away. In the future you'll witness me as a bulwark of Islam, leading the United states of Islam under one flag. Those who love and live for me will  witness my victory in Ghazwa-e-Hind.

Now the choice is yours, either you want to be my loyal, stand on the right side of history, help build and enhance my ideological grounds in order to strengthen me as a whole or deceive and betray me like the depraved tens of thousands of people did. Remember, if you betray me, you'll be deadly reckoned by Allah in the hereafter, after all I was consigned to you by Allah and His beloved Rasool Allah (s.a.w.w).
Yours,
Pakistan.

14th August demands National Solidarity from Pakistanis

Print Friendly and PDF

Pakistani nation has celebrated its 66th Independence Day on 14 August, 2012 with full enthusiasm. Every Independence Day always infused new spirit in me. Last midnight of 13-14 August, rounding up of Lahore city with the family in the company of 82 years old Squadron Leader, Retired Abdul Ali Shaukat (my uncle) has also turned out another unforgettable moments of my life. In fact, due to the job compulsion, my uncle shifted to Lahore a month earlier or so. He received the family that had migrated from India to Pakistan. The visit of Lahore, which has freshened up the memories of the old veteran but also created touchy and aspiring effects in me and my family as well, after listening the unfolding of events from an eye witness of Independence Day. He narrated that most of families migrated with empty hands and faced multiple crises but the spirit of sacrifices, determination and happiness of freedom do reflect from their faces. He further expressed that although they left their property behind, yet they never lost the hope of moving forward and forward.

Anyhow, Pakistan became nuclear power, developed her communication infrastructures, modernized her cities, produced agriculture, supplied trained and technical manpower to other countries, and progressed in medical profession despite fighting three wars with India and passing through global war on terror. Thus, all this development indicates the sign of strength and potentials of a valiant nation. However, some of political and defence analysts keep on presenting depleted picture of the country and are busy in spreading disappointment while saying that “Pakistan is under siege and in mess”.

We must acknowledge here that besides facing multi-lateral economic crises such as high prices, load-shedding, unemployment etc., Pakistan and its security forces are coping with suicide attacks, bomb blasts, sectarian violence and targeted-killings including with sporadic battles with the militants in some tribal areas. Besides 30,000 innocent persons, more than 5000 thousand soldiers and several police men have become martyrs in this ‘different war’. In fact, there are a number of external elements like US, India and Israel whose secret agencies, are in collusion to destabilise Pakistan because it is the only nuclear power in the Islamic World. Besides other terror-incidents in various cities, these foreign elements are also fueling sectarian and ethnic violence in Pakistan’s seaport Karachi and Balochistan.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the facade of Osama Bin Laden by a US military raid in Pakistan on May 2, this year, intermittent subversive events in the country coupled with the sporadic attacks of heavily-armed militants who enters Pakistan from Afghanistan have continued, killing several police men and paramilitary soldiers in wake of continued wave of drone attacks and American false blame game regarding cross-border terrorism in Afghanistan. These anti-Pakistan developments clearly show that the US, India, Afghanistan and Israel are in connivance as part of a conspiracy to ‘destabilise’ Pakistan for their common strategic interests. Pakistan stands on restoration of NATO supply forced US to admit her fault over attack on Salala Check Post. We must accept that Pakistan is again confronting with various kinds of crises like she was facing just after the partition. Some of our internal elements are being manipulated by their foreign masters. Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has repeatedly been revealing that RAW, Mossad and other foreign agencies are involved in supporting insurgency and acts of terrorism in various cities of Pakistan, and separatism in Balochistan.

Unfortunately, it is due to lack of national solidarity among our politicians, leaders and media that foreign opportunists have been manipulating the chaotic situation of Pakistan in order to fulfill their secret agenda by weakening the country. Few immature politicians and segments of societies are also targeting the armed forces and Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI so as to increase their vote bank. For example, now they have started propagating that some secret deal on drone attacks between ISI and CIA has been concluded. Contrarily, according to highly reliable sources, Chief of Pakistan’s supreme intelligence agency (ISI), Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam categorically asked CIA to stop drone attacks in Pakistan.

While our media, particularly most of the TV channels conduct controversial debate between politicians and commentators, contesting internal politics. Like the foreign enemies by ignoring the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces and its superior secret agency, they malign Pak Army and ISI. In this context, some of our media anchors and most of politicians or political experts pay no attention to national solidarity and cohesion among various civil and military institutes of the country. At this critical juncture, while situation demands selfless unity, both our media and some politicians manipulate every terror-incident or negative development against Pakistan. On renowned TV channels, our politicians oppose their rivals for the sake of opposition. In this context, they opine as to what the people want, but conceal as to what people actually need? Particularly, it seems that a majority of Pakistan’s media anchors are on the payroll of external enemies.

However, severe implications of the ongoing precarious situation cannot be grasped by the general masses at large, who abruptly change their opinion without reason. Hence, they become easy prey to the internal politicians (exploiters), unintentionally benefiting the external conspirators who want to weaken Pakistan by creating a rift between our general masses led by politicians, and the security forces. Apart from it, foreign agents misguide the disgruntled elements that national institutions are not made to develop the backward areas, and policies formulated at Islamabad are not congenial to other provinces except Punjab. Meanwhile, by ignoring public backlash in Pakistan, US high officials had intensified their pressure tactics by continuously insisting upon the country to ‘do more’ by taking military action against the Haqqani network. On the other side, taking note of the US coercive diplomacy, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership flatly refused to launch military operation against the Haqqani Network and asked US to close Pak-Afghan border for having better control over the crosser.

Nevertheless, it is due to a wave of ‘emotionalism’ instigated by some irresponsible politicians and media anchors that general masses have forgotten the services of our security forces and have started disgracing even army and ISI. In this regard stereotypes and prejudices have been created by the foreign enemies through a propaganda campaign which have been misguiding the people who have set aside innumerable services and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army during the Swat and Malakand military operations— resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), floods, desilting of canals (Bhal Safai)—particularly during the Earthquake of 2005, entailing restoration of law and order on many occasions. Since its existence, military personnel saved the countless helpless people by sacrificing their own lives.

Nonetheless, at this critical hour, Pakistan’s survival lies in selfless national solidarity. For this purpose in order to scold the conspiracy of the external enemies against the integrity of the country, our political leaders must avoid exploiting any crisis not only against one another, but also against the security forces and ISI whose image are deliberately being tarnished by the external plotters. The present adverse circumstances demands sacrifices of individual selfish interests. So, Pakistan’s survival requires a strong sense of solidarity—team spirit and shared aims among the general public, politicians, religious leaders and the security forces not only to resolve the present multiple problems, but also to cope with the external enemies.

He said the ratio of martyred officers and soldiers is 1-10 which reflects their resolve and commitment. He also appreciated the writer of "What more can a solider desire" who has highlighted several aspect of life and role of Major Shabir. He said Colonel (r) Azam Qadri has made the epic life of the legendary solider more memorable than ever through his remarkable effort of collecting and compiling the shining moments of Major Shabir's career. Other speakers also paid tribute to Major Shabir and threw light on his achievement. The book is a candid account of Major Shabir's acts of valour and bravery he displayed throughout his military career and during the two Pakistan-India wars of 1965 and 1971.

Major Shabir embraced Shahadat on December 6, 1971 while firing and engaging the Indian tanks in the Sulemanki Sector. Portion of the book is based upon the letters that Major Shabir wrote to the author, which contain and enumerate not only some historic facts about the Pakistan-India war of 1965, but also present a good reflection of his day-to-day life, as well as his personality. The book not only galvanises the desire of achievement but also portrays the parts of Major Shabir Sharif's life in a novel and impressive way.

China vows bigger role for regional bloc in Afghanistan

Print Friendly and PDF

China, Russia and four Central Asian countries have vowed to play a bigger role in Afghanistan, Chinese President Hu Jintao said in comments published Wednesday, as NATO forces prepare to pull out. He said the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) -- a group intended as a counterweight to US influence in Central Asia and dominated by China and Russia -- had also decided to strengthen Afghanistan's role in the organisation.

The comments came as leaders of the SCO member states met in Beijing for a two-day summit on security and economic issues across the region. "We will play a greater role in the peaceful reconstruction process in Afghanistan," Hu said in an interview published in the People's Daily newspaper, the ruling Communist Party mouthpiece.

"The SCO supports Afghanistan becoming an independent, peaceful, prosperous, neighbourly country, free from terrorism and drugs," he said. The SCO -- which groups China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan -- was formed in 2001 with the view of counterbalancing US and NATO influence in the region. India, Pakistan, Iran and Mongolia are observers.

Hu said the organisation -- which has invited Afghanistan as a guest at this year's summit -- had decided to grant the troubled country observer status, amid general concern as NATO forces prepare to pull out by the end of 2014.
Russia has criticised the withdrawal timeline, and President Vladimir Putin -- who is currently attending the SCO summit in Beijing -- has cited the stability of Afghanistan as an issue of "common concern".

India, meanwhile, has voiced fear that Islamic radicals will gain strength once Western forces pull out of the country. Liu Weimin, spokesman for China's foreign ministry, confirmed Wednesday that Afghanistan had been given observer status, saying the development of the situation in the country was of concern to the SCO member states.

"The two sides will be able to enhance their cooperation in security, economy and social areas," he told reporters. "The SCO has experience and capacity in fighting terrorism, narcotics, transnational crimes as well as economic development, and it is ready to strengthen cooperation with Afghanistan."

The Last War between India and Pakistan (Ghazwa-e-Hind)

Print Friendly and PDF

Greater Pakistan - Fall of India after Ghazwa-e-Hind (The mother of all battles between India & Pakistan)

An Arab Conqueror will break the Cross:
[Page 20] This prediction says that in time of the last pope (Roman Peter), the Christian papacy will experience its demise and the institution of papacy will fall. The Vatican will be annihilated and the pope will have to flee the Vatican (in order to save his life) and cross over mounds and mounds of dead bodies. A similar prediction is attributed to Mother Shipton which dictates that an Arab conqueror will move towards the cross. Now it is evident that the Vatican symbolizes, and is foremost representation of the Cross and Christianity. Therefore this Arab Conqueror along with his army will desecrate and lay waste the powers of Europe and head towards Italy where the Vatican City is situated and will break this great symbol of polytheism (shirk) i.e. the Cross. Much blood will be spilt which is why it is said that the pope will have to escape across a field of dead bodies. The incumbent pope Paul John II has become very aged and it may be not be wrong to assume that dangerous changes in the world will surface possibly in the coming 5 to 6 decades time and it is highly probable that these events (Pope John Paul II fleeing Vatican, The Arab Conqueror breaking the Cross and ransacking Europe) will precede this period of 50 to 60 years.

Note: Above prediction of Nostradamus, St Malachy and Mother Shipton is translated to tell you that it seems to be copied from Muslim sources. Please read the Hadith below and decide yourself.

Hadith about Hazrat Essa's (AS) arrival is present in Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Masnad Ahmad and other major Ahadith-e-Mubarika Books.

Masnad Ahmed Hadith:

*****

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said,

"By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, surely the son of Mary (Jesus) will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind justly (as a Just Ruler); he will break the Cross and kill the pigs and there will be no Jizya (i.e. taxation taken from non Muslims). Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it, and a single prostration to Allah (in prayer) will be better than the whole world and whatever is in it. " Abu Huraira added "If you wish, you can recite (this verse of the Holy Book): -- 'And there is none Of the people of the Scriptures (Jews and Christians) But must believe in him (i.e Jesus as an Apostle of Allah and a human being) Before his death. And on the Day of Judgment He will be a witness Against them." (4.159)

Pakistan & Red Roza-e-Rasool (s.a.ww) - Rise of Caliphate

Print Friendly and PDF

Syed Safdar Ali Ahmad saw a dream a few days after Pakistan's creation. In his dream, he saw:
“An innocent child was standing with me whose name was Pakistan. He was wearing a bright white dress while standing beside a male saint. After sometime I came to know that the saint was none other than Hazrat Khwaja Khizar (a.s) and he was giving instructions to the innocent child. Although I was standing nearby, yet I couldn't hear what words were being exchanged between the mighty saint and Pakistan, however the lips of both could be seen moving. After sometime, Hazrat Khwaja Khizar (a.s) advised me to stay with Pakistan wherever he goes, and with this being said, he vanished from my sight.

When I looked back up again, I was shocked to see that we were standing in a thick frightening forest. Huge mountains were surrounding us along with several rocks and deep canyons. Not even a single narrow foot way could be seen ahead. However, Pakistan started walking and automatically out of nowhere, a broad and concrete road began to emerge on its own ahead of him. It appeared as if just like a rolled carpet, the road was being unfolded on its own. I then realized that Pakistan was racing its way ahead like a speedy car would do on that road, and with the same speed the mountains, the forest and all the canyons were rushing backwards.

After traveling a long distance forward, both of us entered a broad field and there we saw the Roza-e-Mubarak of Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) in front of us whose color was red instead of green at that time (perhaps due to the massive massacre of Muslims worldwide as well as inhumane atrocities on non-Muslims at the hands of their Zionist rulers). I saw that between the Roza-e-Mubarak of Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) and both of us, there was flowing an extremely agile and angry river. It's waves seemed like little cliffs which emerged and then smashed against each other before disappearing. Once there, we came to know that our destination is Roza-e-Mubarak of Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) and both of us have to go there.

I told Pakistan that I will drown in this agile river because I can't swim. However Pakistan told me that he will reach his destination at any cost. Having said that, he performed Wazoo and jumped right into the river. High waves would lift him up at first, and then throw him back down but Pakistan wouldn't stop. He swam his way like a professional swimmer through the agile river waves and continued advancing towards his destination, till he disappeared from my sight.

When I turned back, there was a group of saints worshiping God Almighty. One of those saints addressed me taking my name and said, "Should we tell you a good news?" When I keenly nodded, the saint said, "Your companion Pakistan has reached the Roza-e-Mubarak of Rasool Allah s.a.w safely. He was a bit forlorn but when Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) gently put his blessed hand on his back, he forgot all sadness and became happy". Upon hearing this, I felt overjoyed that my companion reached Roza-e-Mubarak (s.a.ww) safely. I strongly wished at that point in time that had I been with him too, I would also see Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) and bless my eyes.

When I advanced a little further, I saw a village. As I came out through its vast streets, I reached an unusually vast lush green meadow in which I saw Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) was standing. He was wearing a brilliant bright white dress, and in his right blessed hand he was carrying the sun, and he had that hand raised high above in the air. In front of Holy Prophet (s.a.ww), Pakistan was standing with his hands tied in front of him in respect. I also went over to him and stood beside him with my hands tied in front of myself in respect of Rasool Allah (s.a.ww).

When I revealed this dream of mine to another male saint, he told me that when he did Istikhara about Pakistan, he saw that when the time comes, Pakistan's boundaries will expand tremendously. It will become the most powerful state of the world and a government on the model of Khilafat-e-Rashida will be established here.

Pakistan - Islamic or Secular?

Print Friendly and PDF

In the midst of confusion, if one compares the argument of both Islamic and Secular idealists, and understands both concepts, the pathway to reality becomes quite clear. The secular argument focuses more on the personality and appearance of Quaid e Azam. If their argument is probed, the most significant point is the following quote of Quaid e Azam:

"You may belong to any religion or caste or creed, that has nothing to do with the business of the state..”  There is also one more speech of Quaid e Azam in which he talks about Hindus seizing to be Hindus and Muslims seizing to be Muslims, but not in a religious sense, rather in political sense. Other than these two quotes, secularists focus on Quaid e Azam’s personality. He was educated in England, his English was much better than Urdu, he wore an English suit, and such other things.

But it is to be noted, that Allama Iqbal, the greatest Pan-Islamic philosopher of the same time was educated in the West, he spoke exceptionally fluent English, he usually wore western suits as well, but at the same time he called for the rule of the Quran. So it would not be analytically convincing to label Quaid e Azam secular because of his appearance or seeming way of living. Some Pakistani liberals even go to the extent of saying that Quaid e Azam created Pakistan so that his party could get seats in a parliament, or Quaid e Azam never wanted Pakistan, it was rather a mistake of the situation. It would be extremely offensive to the five million Muslims who gave their lives for Pakistan, when we say that Pakistan and the two-nation theory is not valid anymore.

Even if one does not agree with the pro-Islamic argument and focuses on unbiased research, it is counted, specifically according to the research of Mr. Ayub Baig Mirza, that Quaid e Azam gave 115 speeches in which he perceived Pakistan as an Islamic State; out of which, 101 are prior to independence and 14 are post-independence. In many other addresses, Quaid e Azam clarified that every movement has an ideological foundation and its visionary, and for Pakistan’s movement, Islam is the ideology and Allama Iqbal is the visionary. Pro-Islamic analysts have also concluded, that Quaid e Azam’s speech of 11th August, which is widely rejoiced by secularists, was actually given by him to reassure Non-Muslim Pakistanis of their rights and place in the society, and it did not mean to label Pakistan as a secular nation. The famous excerpt from 11th August address is as follows:

“We are all citizens and equal citizens of one state…. Now I think we should keep that in front of us as our ideal, and you will find that in course of time Hindus would cease to be Hindus and Muslims would cease to be Muslims, not in the religious sense, because that is the personal faith of each individual, but in the political sense as citizens of the State”.

After this speech was given, secularists spread the word that Quaid e Azam wants Pakistan to be a secular state. Factually, since then all of this confusion had started. But to clarify the matter, Quaid e Azam himself said on 25th January 1948 that

“I could not understand the section of the people that deliberately wanted to spread mischief and propaganda that the constitution of Pakistan would not be made on the basis of Shariah”.

This quote folds and dumps the confusion in the bin. Pro-Islamic writers and columnists have debated that Quaid e Azam’s speech of 11th August was actually meant to relieve the anxiety of the minorities residing in Pakistan caused by the religious conflicts in the sub-continent. It was not meant to describe the system that was to be implemented in Pakistan, and this is ascertained by the speech of Quaid e Azam in 25th January 1948, in which he clarifies what system Pakistan will run on. There is a copious amount of quotes of Quaid e Azam that elucidate the fact that Pakistan was created for Muslims to live their life in accordance to Islamic principles, morals and ethics. Not only this, but also create their own system of governance, in the light of Quran, so that the world has something different to follow other than the systems of the West, which have ruined the economic circumstances of the world (as clarified by Quaid e Azam in his last speech). During his address to the Usmania University, Deccan India, Quaid e Azam was asked what an “Islamic” republic is. He defined it in the following terms:

“In Islam, ultimate obedience belongs to God alone. The only way to follow this guidance is through the Holy Quran. Islam does not preach obedience to a king, parliament, person or institution. The Islamic Govt. means rule of the Quran. And how can you establish the rule of the Quran without an independent state?” Quaid-e-Azam, address to the students of the Usmania University, Deccan, India, August, 1941.

Two things that are illuminated by this answer would either anger the secular elements of Pakistan, or convince them to accept Pakistan as an Islamic state. One, that this quote reflects the fact that Quaid e Azam, at an individual level, was neither secular minded, nor unaware of Islamic teachings.

His description of an Islamic state is no different than what any Islamic scholar would perceive it to be, and his knowledge upon it shows that Quaid e Azam was actually a knowledgeable Muslim. And the second message given by this quote, through the last sentence, teaches exactly why Pakistan was really created. “How can you establish the rule of Quran without an independent state?”. The Great Leader, as “Quaid e Azam” would be translated to in English, wanted the rule of Quran to be established in Pakistan; and through this it becomes lucid that the struggle for Pakistan is still an abandoned mission, which can only be completed after the laws of Quran and Sunnah are implemented. Rather surprising is the fact that some groups find it odd when Quran being implemented in Pakistan is talked about, whereas The Objectives Resolution, the foundation of Pakistan’s constitution, states that no law will be enforced that contradicts to the teachings of Quran.
Plenty of other speeches of Quaid e Azam indicate towards an Islamic system. A few of them are as follows:

"Pakistan not only means freedom and independence, but also the Muslim Ideology that has to be preserved that has come to us as a precious gift and treasure.” Quaid-e-Azam, Chittagong, March, 1948.

“Come forward as servants of Islam, organize the people economically, socially, educationally and politically and I am sure that you will be a power that will be accepted by everybody.” Quaid-e-Azam, Presidential Address at the All India Muslim League, Lahore March 23, 1940.

“You have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic democracy, Islamic social justice and the equality of manhood in your own native soil. With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve.” Quaid-e-Azam, address to the officers and men of the 5th Heavy and 6th Light Regiments in Malir, Karachi, February 21, 1948.

“You are only voicing my sentiments, and the sentiments of millions of Musalmans (Muslims) when you say that Pakistan should be based on pure foundations of social justice and Islamic Socialism, not other –isms” Quaid e Azam, March 1948, Chittagong.

“We should have a State in which we could live and breathe as free men and which we could develop according to our own lights and culture and where principles of Islamic social justice could find free play.” Quaid-e-Azam, address to Civil, Naval, Military and Air Force Officers of Pakistan Government, Karachi, October 11, 1947.

These quotes give an idea about the thought process of Quaid e Azam while leading the independence movement, and also confirm that the destined state ideology of Pakistan was always meant to be Islam. In actuality, Quaid e Azam himself called people who support secularism in Pakistan “mischievous and propagandists” (referring to his address on 25th January 1948).

Another argument that is presented by the liberal analysts of Pakistan is that Allama Iqbal had absolutely no role in the creation of Pakistan, mainly because he died before the passing of Pakistan Resolution, also known as Lahore Resolution. This again, is an insult to history. Keeping aside the fact that almost every Pakistani recognizes Iqbal’s vital role in the creation of Pakistan, it is still necessary to clear the mystery. After the Pakistan Resolution was passed and was presented in Minto Park, Quaid e Azam visited Allama Iqbal’s shrine with one of the members of the Pakistan movement, and stated that if Iqbal was here, he would be very happy to see that I have done what was ordained to me.

This highlights the importance of Allama Iqbal in the creation of Pakistan. Also, Quaid e Azam had called Iqbal the visionary behind the movement for Pakistan. The greatest reason, why some people don’t like it when Iqbal is associated with the creation of Pakistan, is that Iqbal was a Pan-Islamist. This is not only portrayed through his extraordinary poetic dimension, but also in his written letters to Quaid e Azam regarding Pakistan. Some of the letters include,

“The Congress President has denied the political existence of Muslims in no unmistakable terms. The other Hindu political body, i.e., the Mahasabha, whom I regard as the real representative of the masses of the Hindus, has declared more than once that a united Hindu-Muslim nation is impossible in India. In these circumstances it is obvious that the only way to a peaceful India is redistribution of the country on the lines of racial, religious and linguistic affinities.”
Iqbal to Quaid, June 1937.

“To my mind the new constitution with its ides of a single Indian federation is completely hopeless. A separate federation of Muslim provinces reformed on the lines I have suggested above, is the only course by which we can secure a peaceful India and save Muslims from the domination of non-Muslims. Why should not the Muslims of North-West India and Bengal be considered as nation entitled to Self-determination just as other nation as in India and outside India are?” Iqbal to Quaid, June 1937.

“Happily there is a solution in the enforcement of the Law of Islam and its further development in the light of modern ideas. After a long and careful study of Islamic Law I have come to the conclusion that if this system of Law is properly understood and applied, at last the right to subsistence is secured to everybody. But the enforcement and development of the Shariat of Islam is impossible in this country without a free Muslim state or states.” Iqbal’s letter to Quaid, 28th May, 1937.

“The Palestine question is very much agitating the minds of the Muslims. I have no doubt that the League will pass a strong resolution on this question and also by holding a private conference of the leaders. Personally I would not mind going to jail on an issue which affects both Islam and India. The formation of a Western base on the very gates of the East is a menace to both.” Iqbal to Quaid, 1937.

Not only do the letters reveal Allama Iqbal’s Pan-Islamism, they also uncover the fact that Allama Iqbal had a critical role in forming the vision, strategy, purpose and motivation for the Muslim League, and the Muslims of India at large for the mission of Pakistan. We can see in the last letter mentioned above, that Pakistan’s foreign policy towards Palestine and Israel is the product of it. Quaid e Azam, before the Pakistan resolution passed, declared numerous times that the Muslims of India did not honor Britain’s pro Jewish attitude and its betrayal towards the Arabs.

Quaid e Azam also declared that the Muslims, not only of India but also of all the world will rise in rage against the state of Israel and will perceive Britain as an enemy of Islam. He even went to the extent to call Israel and “illegal child of the West”. It should be noted here that this is not some fiery lecturer, this is Quaid e Azam himself. The support for the Palestinian cause was built in Pakistanis through this letter of Iqbal, which described Pakistan’s foreign policy, even before its resolution was passed. This shows just a little image of what the importance of Iqbal was in the creation of Pakistan, and it is not to be neglected that the creation of Pakistan was only one big step that had to be achieved; the real completion of this mission would be the implementation of Quran, as ordered by Quaid e Azam and Allama Iqbal themselves.

When Quaid e Azam, and the hundreds of millions of Muslims in the Sub Continent called for an “Islamic” state of Pakistan, they did not mean “Mullahism” (which is usually what the West perceives an Islamic system to be). Quaid e Azam described this case very well when he stated during his address to a US radio station that Pakistan will not be a theocracy (ruled by priests). The aim was to implement the real essence of Islam, and the wisdom of Quran and Sunnah, through which Pakistan would grow as an Islamic welfare state and serve humanity.
