14th August demands National Solidarity from Pakistanis

Print Friendly and PDF

Pakistani nation has celebrated its 66th Independence Day on 14 August, 2012 with full enthusiasm. Every Independence Day always infused new spirit in me. Last midnight of 13-14 August, rounding up of Lahore city with the family in the company of 82 years old Squadron Leader, Retired Abdul Ali Shaukat (my uncle) has also turned out another unforgettable moments of my life. In fact, due to the job compulsion, my uncle shifted to Lahore a month earlier or so. He received the family that had migrated from India to Pakistan. The visit of Lahore, which has freshened up the memories of the old veteran but also created touchy and aspiring effects in me and my family as well, after listening the unfolding of events from an eye witness of Independence Day. He narrated that most of families migrated with empty hands and faced multiple crises but the spirit of sacrifices, determination and happiness of freedom do reflect from their faces. He further expressed that although they left their property behind, yet they never lost the hope of moving forward and forward.

Anyhow, Pakistan became nuclear power, developed her communication infrastructures, modernized her cities, produced agriculture, supplied trained and technical manpower to other countries, and progressed in medical profession despite fighting three wars with India and passing through global war on terror. Thus, all this development indicates the sign of strength and potentials of a valiant nation. However, some of political and defence analysts keep on presenting depleted picture of the country and are busy in spreading disappointment while saying that “Pakistan is under siege and in mess”.

We must acknowledge here that besides facing multi-lateral economic crises such as high prices, load-shedding, unemployment etc., Pakistan and its security forces are coping with suicide attacks, bomb blasts, sectarian violence and targeted-killings including with sporadic battles with the militants in some tribal areas. Besides 30,000 innocent persons, more than 5000 thousand soldiers and several police men have become martyrs in this ‘different war’. In fact, there are a number of external elements like US, India and Israel whose secret agencies, are in collusion to destabilise Pakistan because it is the only nuclear power in the Islamic World. Besides other terror-incidents in various cities, these foreign elements are also fueling sectarian and ethnic violence in Pakistan’s seaport Karachi and Balochistan.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the facade of Osama Bin Laden by a US military raid in Pakistan on May 2, this year, intermittent subversive events in the country coupled with the sporadic attacks of heavily-armed militants who enters Pakistan from Afghanistan have continued, killing several police men and paramilitary soldiers in wake of continued wave of drone attacks and American false blame game regarding cross-border terrorism in Afghanistan. These anti-Pakistan developments clearly show that the US, India, Afghanistan and Israel are in connivance as part of a conspiracy to ‘destabilise’ Pakistan for their common strategic interests. Pakistan stands on restoration of NATO supply forced US to admit her fault over attack on Salala Check Post. We must accept that Pakistan is again confronting with various kinds of crises like she was facing just after the partition. Some of our internal elements are being manipulated by their foreign masters. Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has repeatedly been revealing that RAW, Mossad and other foreign agencies are involved in supporting insurgency and acts of terrorism in various cities of Pakistan, and separatism in Balochistan.

Unfortunately, it is due to lack of national solidarity among our politicians, leaders and media that foreign opportunists have been manipulating the chaotic situation of Pakistan in order to fulfill their secret agenda by weakening the country. Few immature politicians and segments of societies are also targeting the armed forces and Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI so as to increase their vote bank. For example, now they have started propagating that some secret deal on drone attacks between ISI and CIA has been concluded. Contrarily, according to highly reliable sources, Chief of Pakistan’s supreme intelligence agency (ISI), Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam categorically asked CIA to stop drone attacks in Pakistan.

While our media, particularly most of the TV channels conduct controversial debate between politicians and commentators, contesting internal politics. Like the foreign enemies by ignoring the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces and its superior secret agency, they malign Pak Army and ISI. In this context, some of our media anchors and most of politicians or political experts pay no attention to national solidarity and cohesion among various civil and military institutes of the country. At this critical juncture, while situation demands selfless unity, both our media and some politicians manipulate every terror-incident or negative development against Pakistan. On renowned TV channels, our politicians oppose their rivals for the sake of opposition. In this context, they opine as to what the people want, but conceal as to what people actually need? Particularly, it seems that a majority of Pakistan’s media anchors are on the payroll of external enemies.

However, severe implications of the ongoing precarious situation cannot be grasped by the general masses at large, who abruptly change their opinion without reason. Hence, they become easy prey to the internal politicians (exploiters), unintentionally benefiting the external conspirators who want to weaken Pakistan by creating a rift between our general masses led by politicians, and the security forces. Apart from it, foreign agents misguide the disgruntled elements that national institutions are not made to develop the backward areas, and policies formulated at Islamabad are not congenial to other provinces except Punjab. Meanwhile, by ignoring public backlash in Pakistan, US high officials had intensified their pressure tactics by continuously insisting upon the country to ‘do more’ by taking military action against the Haqqani network. On the other side, taking note of the US coercive diplomacy, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership flatly refused to launch military operation against the Haqqani Network and asked US to close Pak-Afghan border for having better control over the crosser.

Nevertheless, it is due to a wave of ‘emotionalism’ instigated by some irresponsible politicians and media anchors that general masses have forgotten the services of our security forces and have started disgracing even army and ISI. In this regard stereotypes and prejudices have been created by the foreign enemies through a propaganda campaign which have been misguiding the people who have set aside innumerable services and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army during the Swat and Malakand military operations— resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), floods, desilting of canals (Bhal Safai)—particularly during the Earthquake of 2005, entailing restoration of law and order on many occasions. Since its existence, military personnel saved the countless helpless people by sacrificing their own lives.

Nonetheless, at this critical hour, Pakistan’s survival lies in selfless national solidarity. For this purpose in order to scold the conspiracy of the external enemies against the integrity of the country, our political leaders must avoid exploiting any crisis not only against one another, but also against the security forces and ISI whose image are deliberately being tarnished by the external plotters. The present adverse circumstances demands sacrifices of individual selfish interests. So, Pakistan’s survival requires a strong sense of solidarity—team spirit and shared aims among the general public, politicians, religious leaders and the security forces not only to resolve the present multiple problems, but also to cope with the external enemies.

Before It's too late (English Translation) - Orya Maqbool Jan

Print Friendly and PDF

Orya Maqbool Jan

English Translation:

Men of Allah who have a foresight, already alarmed about the prevalent Chaos and anarchy beforehand and told the ones' in power that this is due to the displeasure of Allah, stop claiming now. Don't say that you will overpower. You are dishonest and treacherous in your intentions. Clean your intentions and ask for forgiveness. The seers clearly told that these people are scoundrels and disloyal, they count scores on other's deaths. If they don't abstain, their cities won't be able to lived be in anymore.  They will be running from the cities at the stake of their lives. Few days ago, I quoted a statement by a very pious man of Allah who is blessed with an amazing foresight and neither does he ever claim, nor does he go out of the premises of the way of Syedi Rasool s.a.w.w.

He (the pious man of Allah) is so simple and down to earth in his conduct, that you will assess him a simple farmer.  Even the person who never revealed any such thing before anyone had to speak up by the intensity of the havoc like situation and its signs being shown to such man of Allah. He said, write and write it crystal clearly that the pillar has been pulled away and the roof is about to fall. Tell the people that stop supporting the cruel and break their silence against the cruelty. One year, 12 months and 365 days have passed. The havoc of flood was recalled.. it came and washed away crores of people. Nobody paid any heed to it. A few good ones' in the society came forward to help the destitute. The leaders began begging before the world.. But nothing was given in beg except stones and sand of accusations. Entire world said that they won't help the dishonest and shameless people. The flood ended.. leaving so many homeless. Many still are homeless.

We all have assumed that this is casual and routine. Those who whine for scientific logic and facts for everything, started whining, "Is there anything like Allah's displeasure?!" It's all global warming, climates are changing and nothing else. Nobody was ready to believe that there is a Supreme power, the Lord of this world and many alike Who changes climates too. They had the same satire as Nuh a.s's nation had on seeing him build an ark. Same answer as given by Nuh a.s's son that I don't need your ark.. I will climb at the top of mountain in case of flood. But the mountain drowned too. Some said, "If Kalabagh dam is created, Noshera will drown." But Allah the most powerful, handed it over  to the huge waves that were even higher than its roof. These people were not even in the path of any river. Then it happened as if the ground expelled all its water or the sky rained endlessly. The year when the flood caused a huge damage to this land and paralyzed it to some extent, Media was discussing that what impact will the flood have on our politics!

Many wished that those helpless and poor afectees will get up and over run the government. Some yelled at the incompetence of the government while the govt. shamelessly say "everything will be fine." Not even once the champions of DemonCrazy visited these heartbroken, helpless people for the sake of pleasure of Allah. They kept wandering in their helis with media cameras' along, drooling over the votes for next elections. Those who realized  the test hidden in this flood, stepped forward to help the needy for Allah's sake and thought that Allah might shower his mercy because of them. But perhaps the collective thought of the people has turned to be such that even huge disasters can't bring them to the right path. Those who could see and feel, went in prostration and their tears began to wet the ground out of fear of Allah. Perhaps our deeds don't deserve our prayers to be heard; our silence on cruelty, insult of justice, support for dishonesty and hatred for truth! On the other hand, proud tones and pride in one's skills added in spoiling the matter.

The fire of catastrophe which has been burning a few individuals in it daily, suddenly turned vigorous. Dead bodies started piling on one another. When eyes, ears and hearts get stamped, nothing helps. Some say, its all political affairs, political parties will resolve them. Some say this is administrative defect, expel everyone from here to establish peace. Some say, he has the key to peace, some say direct operation is the key to peace. In this land of thousands, no one reacted as one does at the time of difficulty at his own home. It would never happen that at any Zardari, Altaf Hussain, Nawaz Sharif or Asfand Yar's home, if any person is in the state between life and death, the people would not consult and cry before Allah Almighty besides treatment, or the verses of Qur'aan aren't wet with tears. Everyone is requested to pray, and told Allah is enough to heal and He alone can give Shifa, besides the efforts of the doctors.

Woe on us that we spent several nights when dead bodies went on piling up and we didn't speak a word in Dua before Allah Almighty! We are those unfortunate ones' who are ashamed to prostrate before Allah Almighty! Our scientific environment doesn't let us bow down before Allah! Does anyone ever say on the bad health of his son, " What rhetoric of Allah Allah is this?! Enough of conservative talks!" Fear the time when this test knocks at your doors and enter your homes and you won't know what to do! Fear the time when any satisfaction won't give you peace! In such, even if you look at the sky with eyes full of tears, it would have been too late! Everything will be burnt! Bend down the necks full of pride for my Allah doesn't like such people on His land!

Economic Crisis to cause a positive impact on Pakistan

Print Friendly and PDF

The ongoing economic crisis across the world after downgrade of the United States of Zionism's credit rating would have a positive impact on Pakistan’s economy as analysts said that the current account balance would stay in surplus and the electricity subsidy will automatically be contained. The United States of Zionism's credit rating downgrade after enhancement of debt ceiling rattled the stock markets around the globe and majority of the equity markets have touched their lower locks. While major commodities, except gold, have also witnessed sharp decline in their prices after 2008.

“With the decline in oil prices globally, Pakistan’s current account balance is likely to stay in surplus and the electricity subsidy will automatically be contained,” according to a JS research report on Tuesday. The report said that the growth is expected to rebound due to the bumper agriculture crops and inflation would tame further, whereas equity market will remain resilient compared to its regional peers due to lower foreign exposure.

“However, political instability and deteriorating law and order situation are the key risks to the economy,” it added. Analysts said that the present global crisis is different from 2008. The crisis of 2007/08 was driven by excessive overheating of the global economy and resultantly commodity and real estate markets touched their peak levels.

In that crisis, Pakistan suffered as a result of higher global commodity prices and the government flawed domestic prices of providing huge subsidy. “As a result, the twin deficits hit 16.3 percent of the GDP,” the JS report revealed, adding that this difficult scenario led to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program in order to bailout the economy from the brink of collapse. However, the report said that in 2011/12 crisis Pakistan’s macros will be resilient and will benefit from the decline in the global commodity prices. “Unlike 2008, Pakistan’s real interest rates are positive, real effective exchange rate is not overvalued and subsidies are largely contained,” it added. About the United States of Zionism's austerity plan and its impact on Pakistan, experts believed that the USZ is unlikely to reduce its spending towards the war on terror.

The American economy is going through its worst period in history, where Obama’s administration is left with very little fiscal space to finance its ballooning fiscal deficit that is around nine percent of the GDP. The stimulus package of post-Lehman crisis has left the Federal Reserve Bank of America literally with no option either. To smooth the functions of the USZ Treasury, the lawmakers have agreed to provide additional $2.4 trillion to the debt ceiling, subject to deficit saving of approximately $1 trillion over the next decade. This year the Americans are unlikely to reduce their spending as the austerity measures decided will be implemented from 2013 onwards, experts said.

On Pakistan’s front, the United States of Zionism will definitely play the role of the devil’s advocate and delay the due payments or reduce the grant size, according to the report. Overall, the presence of the USZ in Afghanistan will keep the dollar flows continued into Pakistan directly or indirectly, the report said, adding that the USZ rationalization of budgets will have a bare minimum impact on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Pakistan’s 1st Communications Satellite PAKSAT-1R Launched

Print Friendly and PDF

Pakistan’s first Communications Satellite PAKSAT-1R, as a part of Pakistan’s Space Programme-2040, was launched on Thursday at 21:17 hrs on board China’s Satellite Launch Vehicle from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre. Besides others, launch was witnessed by Secretary Defence Lt Gen Syed Athar Ali (R), Secretary Foreign Affairs, Salman Bashir, Director General, Strategic Plans Division Lt Gen Khalid Ahmed Kidwai (r) and Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Muhammad Masood Khan, said a Press release issued here.

PAKSAT-1R is being launched at Xichang Satellite Launch Centre
PAKSAT-1R has a total of 30 transponders, 12 in C-band and 18 in Ku-band. The satellite will be deployed at 380E in the eo-stationary orbit and it will replace the existing satellite PAKSAT-1. PAKSAT-1R has a design life of 15 years and will provide TV broadcasting, Internet and data communication services across South and Central Asia, Eastern Europe, East Africa and the Far East. This satellite now enables extending of communication services to all areas of Pakistan. It may be recalled that the National Command Authority (NCA) recently approved Pakistan’s Space Programme-2040 during its meeting at the Strategic Plans Division (SPD) on 14 July 2011.

Earlier, the contract for the development of PAKSAT-1R was signed between Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) in October 2008 during the visit of the President of Pakistan to China. Pakistani engineers have worked closely with their Chinese counterparts during all stages of development of the satellite in China. Some experimental units developed at SUPARCO have also been integrated on the satellite for technology evaluation.

China and Pakistan have enjoyed more than 20 years of cooperation in Space Science, Technology and Applications. The launch of Paksat-1R Satellite is a major milestone for both countries towards strengthening of this cooperation. SUPARCO will continue its efforts for launching of other satellites including Remote Sensing Satellites, to ensure that the space technology applications fully contribute to socio-economic development and national security in Pakistan.

Interview with Former DG ISI General (r) Hameed Gul on current situation of Pakistan

Print Friendly and PDF

Former ISI chief General (r) Hameed Gul says Pakistan will not have to face any kind of negative consequences in case it refuses to release Raymond Davis, the killer of two innocent Pakistanis, despite growing USZ pressure. In an interview to the media, he said even isolation of Pakistan in the comity of nations would be a blessing in disguise and the Islamic Republic would emerge as a stronger country, just like China and Russia had done in such a situation. He said if tiny countries like Cuba and North Korea could withstand pressures, there was no reason why Pakistan could not do so. Answering a question, the former ISI chief said the establishment knew well what the government was doing. However, it was deliberately keeping silent because in the past it was branded as a spoiler. In his opinion the government’s decision to call a round table conference on the issue of Raymond Davis amounted to shirking its responsibility. He said the rulers wanted to share the burden with all parties, which is dishonesty.

Former DG ISI General (r) Hameed Gul

Here is what he said in his interview to the media:

Q: In your assessment what can the consequences in case Pakistan refuses to release Raymond Davis, as being demanded by the US?

Ans: Nothing! They can’t afford to abandon Pakistan if it stands up to them in full length, because their lines of communications go from Pakistan to Afghanistan. The NATO is already face-to-face with defeat in the battlefield. It will be a disaster for them if the vulnerable lines of communications are choked. I think they will do nothing. But my inner wish is that they should break up ties with Pakistan so that we can breathe freely. Let there be no doubt that Pakistan has all the wherewithal to survive as a free and honourable state. If we are isolated, it will be good for us. Let me remind you that there was a time when China was isolated at international level. Then Russia faced a similar situation during the days of Iron Curtain and became a world power. Tiny Cuba survived the USZ sanctions. North Korea is doing well despite food and fuel shortages. I’ll also like to take you back to Islamic history. It was because of the isolation of the state of Medina that Islam flourished. Had Medina not been attacked and isolated, there would have been no Islam today. What I mean to say is isolation sometimes is a blessing in disguise. Maybe, this is what is needed by Pakistan to move forward.

Q: It is generally believed that the army doesn’t keep silent if a government works against the national interests or is involved in corruption. But despite the fact that countless corruption stories of the present rulers have been published by the media, the powers that be seem to have turned a blind eye. As a former ISI chief, will you like to say whether the perception about the government is wrong or the establishment is not discharging its obligations?

Ans: The establishment has taken a deliberate decision of not interfering in government’s matters. This is a conscious decision, because the establishment is already labeled as spoilers of “demoncrazy”. That’s why they are allowing them to carry on. In fact, the opposition is not playing its role. There is a certain deal of anxiety in the establishment. You remember when the issue of Kerry Lugar Bill was under discussion, the army had given its point of view on the subject (which was totally different from the thinking of the government). Then when the ISI was going to be given under the control of the Interior Ministry, a soft check was applied (as a result of which the decision was reversed). Then everybody knows how eager the government was to get closer to India. The establishment thinks that India is Pakistan’s enemy Number 1. The government was also ready to launch an operation in North Waziristan Agency to please the United States of Zionism. But the establishment stood in the way. It is the duty of the establishment to take steps to safeguard the country’s long-term interests. The governments come and go. They have their agendas. But the establishment has no populist agenda, it has to watch national interests in all situations. This role of the army is as true for Pakistan as Pentagon’s for the United States of Zionism. If political parties have some long-term objectives, they should mention their programs in their election manifestos. If they want a compromise on Kashmir, they should mention it in their manifestos. But unfortunately, political parties after coming to power succumb to USZ pressure, although what they say in public seems very close to people’s sentiments. WikiLeaks had revealed recently that when the parliament passed a resolution against the unabated drone attacks, the prime minister deemed it fit to tell the USZ ambassador that they were free to continue to attacks the targets while the government would go for a (mock) protest. Then the president was quoted as saying that he did not care for the collateral damage in these attacks. This is tantamount to cheating on sentiment of the people as well as parliament. If this is demoncrazy, what is dictatorship?

Q: Politicians say that people can judge their performance better. They argue that if voters of a leader are not satisfied with his performance or are of the view that he is corrupt, they will reject them in elections. Is accountability by voters sufficient in a country like ours where nobody would mind being rejected by people after he has accumulated enough money through corrupt practices?

Ans: This is a diabolically nonsensical notion that electoral mandate is actually the ownership right. It is only a temporary letter of appointment. You are judged on the basis of your performance. If you did not measure up to people’s expectations, then you lose the moral mandate. People have the right to cancel the letter of appointment of all such people.

Q: At a time when all parties have representation in parliament, the government plans to hold a Round Table Conference. Do you think the initiative will serve any useful purpose?

Ans: I think the proposed RTC is being held only on the issue of Raymond Davis, the USZ national who killed two innocent Pakistanis. Instead of discharging its duty by taking any decision on the issue of his immunity, it is shirking its responsibility. They want the burden shared by everybody. This is dishonesty – to say the least. I don’t approve of the RTC in this case, because if the RTC says “yes” to the immunity issue, the entire leadership will stand discredited. And this is not good for demoncrazy.

Q: The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces – the President – once said that India poses no threat to Pakistan. However, the thinking of the Armed Forces is totally different. In your opinion, how is possible for the Armed Forces to work with such a supreme commander?

Ans: Let me tell you very frankly that the entire nation is with the Army. There is a long history of Indian hostility towards Pakistan. You know the Kashmir issue has not been settled so far; water dispute is also there; Siachen is also like a battleground. India’s military leadership has now come up with a new doctrine against Pakistan. India also continues to backstab Pakistan through Afghanistan; efforts are also continuing to destabilize Pakistan through terrorist activities. India, Israhell and the United States of Zionism also want to denuclearize Pakistan.

Q: Terrorist activities are being carried out in almost all parts of the country. In some incidents even the military troops were killed. Who in your opinion is behind these activities? Do the growing terrorist activities not reflect the failure of our intelligence agencies?

Ans: Yes, I agree that it’s the failure of our institutions. But no one should forget that it’s very difficult to prevent a determined terrorist or a suicide bomber from reaching his target. Such failures have not been seen in Pakistan alone. You take the example of USZ, UK and many other countries. Terrorist activities could not be prevented even in these countries. Pakistan is in the eye of a storm. Such failures don’t reflect inefficiency of the institutions because many powerful forces are working against Pakistan’s security. As if drone attacks were not sufficient, now “Raymond Davis attacks” are also being carried out. How many people are involved in these attacks, nobody can say at this stage. But I have no doubt that there are people who are out to portray Pakistan as a failed state, not capable of keeping nuclear arsenals. This is the image of Pakistan they want to portray. It’s a monumental conspiracy against the state and people of Pakistan.

Q: Thousands of Blackwater operatives are reportedly active in various parts of the country. Some newspapers even published the addresses of the houses these operatives are living in. But the Armed Forces have not taken any step against these people. What does this mean?

Ans: In fact, we are experiencing a Camp David-like situation that Egypt had to face after signing the accord with Israhell in 1979. Pakistan’s Camp David was ‘signed’ by former president and prime minister Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz. It is the ghost of Camp David that is responsible for all our sufferings. I feel the USZ forces have been allowed to carry out operations as they wish – in utter disregard of Pakistan’s laws. This is all because of the NRO. The facts behind the NRO- midwifed by USZ and UK- must be exposed.

Q: Drone attacks on tribal areas are continuing and the government has stopped even condemning them or lodging a protest, no matter how many casualties. What should be done to stop these attacks?

Ans: Drone attacks are part of an invisible war against Pakistan. If drone attacks are abrasive to tribal traditions which arouse people to take revenge, the attacks carried out by people like Raymond Davis and mercenaries are part of efforts to denuclearize Pakistan and cast it into image of a terrorist state. The enemies want to cut Pakistan to size and also denuclearize it. As for the government’s inability to have them halted, you must bear in mind that policies in Pakistan are being framed under the shadow of the National Reconciliation Ordinance. These agreements continue to haunt both the political scene and security template of Pakistan.

Q: The USZ has destroyed Afghanistan and Iraq. Its policy towards many Islamic countries is also adversarial. Why is it so?

Ans: It’s all because of the overriding security concerns of Israhell – which is an illegitimate state with a very short shelf life. Unless it is fully supported by West, led by the USZ, it can’t survive. Israhell wants the USZ and the West to deal with any threat to the Jewish state. The USZ also wants to grab all energy resources lying in this region. In fact, 70% of the energy resources are in the Islamic world. The USZ also wants to contain China as a giant military power.

Davis declared as “cold blooded killer” by Police

Print Friendly and PDF

Police investigators on Friday said it has been proved that Raymond Davis, the undercover USZ operative held for killing two Pakistanis in Lahore last month, did not act in self-defence but was guilty of “cold-blood murder”. The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) said at least one of the men was running away. He said investigators would strongly press murder charges against Raymond Davis, 36, who was sent on a 14-day judicial remand by a local court earlier Friday. “We have enough evidence to prove that it was a cold-blooded murder. Eyewitnesses have told the police that Davis kept shooting even when one of the men was trying to flee. “It was an intentional murder”, Aslam Tareen told reporters while addressing a news conference at his office on Friday.
The cold blooded killer Raymond Davis

Eyewitness account, evidences from the crime scene and the forensic report proved that Davis intentionally shot dead Faheem and Faizan as he fired multiple shots on the motorcyclists. The investigators have established that the pistol recovered from the one of the men was not cocked. The police chief said that Davis’ plea (of self-defence) has been rejected by police investigators as he gave no chance to the motorcyclists to survive. “As per evidence, there were no fingerprints found on the triggers of the pistol recovered from one of the motorcyclists. The forensic tests also showed all the bullets were in the magazine and not in the chambers. “This indicates that neither the men cocked the pistol nor did they point their weapon at Davis”, the CCPO said. Both were shot in the back — one of them was shot trying to run away, he added. He said that an incomplete challan against the accused under section 302 of the PPC was submitted in the court while the police are still waiting for a couple of reports in this case. He said a team comprising senior officers under his supervision carried out investigation into purely on merit. He said Raymond Davis had been coming to Pakistan frequently and it was his 10th visit. The CCPO said the motive behind the killings was yet to be established.

To a query, the police chief said that the investigation team had recovered a GPS tracker, mobile phones, wireless sets, a first-aid kit and photographs of sensitive area from Davis possession. Tareen said that the USZ consulate officials were still reluctant to turn in the men in the vehicle that crushed another youth to death. “We have forwarded a fifth reminder to the federal authorities, through the provincial government,” he added.

Separately, police on Friday morning tried to dodge the media by sending an empty armoured vehicle to the Cantt courts to avoid coverage, while the USZ national was produced before the magisterial court of Aneeq Anwar in Model Town for his 14-day judicial remand. DSP Old Anarkali Safdar Raza Kazmi produced the handcuffed Davis in an armoured vehicle before the court amidst tight security. A heavy contingent of police and commandos cordoned off the courts before Davis’ arrival. No one was allowed to enter the court premises except the magistrate. Entry of all courts employees, including judicial officers, was barred until the Davis proceedings were over. Police had produced Davis in the Cantt courts to obtain his physical remand on two previous occasions.

Investigation Officer (IO) Inspector Munir Ahmed informed the magisterial court that the accused had confessed his crime during interrogations, and evidence in this regard had been made part of the case record. The IO also submitted an incomplete challan of the accused and requested the magistrate to send Raymond to jail on a judicial remand as his physical remand had completed as per law. Advocate Hassam Qadir appeared for Davis and he submitted an application, contending that his client enjoyed diplomatic immunity. He requested the court to hold in-camera proceedings of the case. The court sought comments from the Prosecution Department by February 25 on the plea of the counsel. On the issue of immunity, the court said the matter is pending with the Lahore High Court (LHC). The judge directed police to produce Davis again on February 25 along with a complete challan.

India: “Pak Nukes well protected, very efficient”

PAKISTAN’S nuclear weapons were well protected through the dispersal of various components and chances that terrorists would get their hands on one were remote, an Indian official said Thursday, reported Indian media. Pakistan has not maintained its atomic assets at one place and components of nuclear weapons in that country are dispersed, making it impossible for terrorists to obtain the arsenal, according to Joint Secretary SK Gupta, who is currently in the National Security Council (NSC) of India. Gupta was speaking on “Pakistan’s Nuclear program” - a lecture organized by the Indian Pugwash Society at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Analyses in New Delhi. “Pakistan’s nuclear weapons are so well protected. It is not easy for a person to enter (nuclear complexes)”, Gupta said. “They are being watched, they are under surveillance every time”, he added.

The official said Pakistan’s nuclear programme was essentially under the army of that country and “the Pakistan Army is well trained and they cannot take chances. They have a well-planned structure created for managing nuclear assets”, he said. “The total number of structure groups is eight. Their roles are established, their locations are established”, he added. Asked if keeping the components of nuclear weapons at a distance from each other would be a disadvantage in case of an emergency, Gupta said Pakistan had proven through drills its ability to assemble and deploy the arsenal in just three hours. “It is a matter of time for Pakistan to assemble nuclear devices, missiles at a short notice of time. Earlier they would take six hours but now they take only three hours from storage to deployment”, he said.

Pakistan-USZ dialogues suspended - USZ threatens to cut AID if killer Davis is not released

USZ lawmaking wolves threatened to cut their so called fictitious and physically non-existent aid to Pakistan unless it freed an American detained in a publicly committed double murder case, as Washington intensified pressure on its uneasy war partner. Three members of the House of Representatives drove home the point on a visit to Pakistan, telling the Puppet Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani starkly that the USZ Congress was working on its budget and looking for areas to cut. “It is imperative that they release him and there is certainly the possibility that there would be repercussions if they don’t”, Representative John Kline, a Republican from Minnesota, told reporters on his return.

The serial killer Raymond Davis

American newspaper Washington Post wrote in one of its reports that because Davis has still not been released, Washington has terminated all high-end political dialogues with Islamabad and Pakistan-USZ relations have been badly strained. According to the newspaper, the zionist witch Hillary Clinton had canceled her meeting with her Pakistani puppet counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the security conference held in Germany's city of Munich. According to the Washington Post, Pakistan's ambassador to USZ, Hussain Haqqani, has been called to the White House and the Zionist elite of the USZ protested over not releasing their criminal diplomat.

“It’s entirely possible that a member of Congress would come down and offer an amendment to cut funding for Pakistan based on their detaining Mr. Davis,” Kline said. “My guess is there would be a lot of support for such an amendment, frankly, because of the outrage of detaining an American with diplomatic immunity”, he said. He indirectly argued that Americans are allowed to kill anyone in the name of self defense and no state is allowed to put a finger on USZ criminal agents. Asked if the so called aid would be at risk if Davis stayed behind bars, Representative Buck McKeon, who heads the House Armed Services Committee, said: “It very well could be”. Davis was arrested on January 27 after publicly shooting the two Pakistani nationals in their backs, saying he feared they would rob him. A third Pakistani was run over and killed by a USZ consulate vehicle that had come to assist Davis, according to police. Moreover, widow of one of the two Pakistanis killed by Davis, committed suicide on Sunday after immense pressure was forced upon her family from USZ agents. She told her doctor before her demise that she feared that she didn't expect justice from this shameless government after the American assassin murdered her innocent husband.

Refreshing the call for Raymond Davis’ release, the United States of Zionism has warned Pakistan of severe consequences if the American national, detained on charges of killing two Pakistanis, was not released any time soon. USZ Ambassador Cameron Munter conveyed “the stricter message” to the Puppet President Asif Ali Zardari at a meeting held Monday at the Presidency, sources said, adding that the president told the USZ ambassador that the matter was sub judice and the verdict of the court must be awaited. Munter told Zardari that “Pakistan must comply with its obligations under international law and immediately release the American diplomat detained in Lahore”, according to USZ Embassy spokeswoman Courtney Beale. Farhatullah Babar, Puppet President Zardari’s spokesman, confirmed the meeting was held but he refused to comment on details of the discussion. He said bilateral relations were discussed.

Fearing the possibility of getting publicly hanged in Islamabad by the Pakistani People, the puppet Zardari, reiterated that Pakistan values its relations with the USZ, but the immediate release of the USZ national under the present circumstances is not possible before the relevant court disposes of the case, sources added. Cameron Munter, who had arrived from Washington after discussing the Raymond Davis issue with his government, gave the “stricter message” from his government to the President. The president said the matter of Raymond Davis lies with the Punjab government and the federal government is in constant touch with Punjab on the issue. Certain reports say that USZ officials have already threatened to immediately halt USZ defence aid if Davis is not freed, following the same pattern of deception that we described here.

Cameron Munter
According to the USZ embassy, Davis is a diplomat and enjoys full diplomatic immunity and is free to kill as many Pakistani people as he wants, when he wants, where he wants and how he wants. But Pakistani officials described him as an employee of a private American security contractor who was on a spying mission in Pakistan. They also said they recovered pictures of Islamic seminaries in Davis’ possession. Munter’s meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad followed repeated public demands for the American’s freedom and underlined Washington’s growing frustration with an ally that receives billions of dollars in USZ aid. The wife of one of the men who Davis shot committed suicide on Sunday, explaining beforehand that she feared her husband’s killer would be freed without trial and Americans were pressurizing her family through their Pakistani sources to give up. Her death could further inflame anti-American sentiment. Earlier, UK High Commissioner Adam Thomson also called on President Zardari and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.
