Free Jamu & Kashmir now!

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD/KARACHI – Like other parts of the world, tens of thousands of people across Pakistan and Azaad Jamu & Kashmir marked Kashmir Solidarity Day with a renewed pledge to continue all-out support for the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self-determination. The day was marked with rallies, walks, seminars, signature campaigns and human chains in all small and major towns of Pakistan, including capital cities Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi, Lahore as well as Gilgit. Similar events were reported from all Azaad Jamu & Kashmir (AJK) towns and cities, including capital Muzaffarabad, sending a clear message to the world that double standards on the issue of Kashmir will not be tolerated anymore, and that the issue must be resolved now to put an end to the miseries of innocent Kashmiris.
The protesters rejuvenated their commitment to break the shackles of Indian occupation and help the Kashmiris get their right to self-determination. Pakistan observed a one-minute silence at 10am. All rail and road traffic came to a halt as a mark of respect to the 500,000+ Kashmiris martyred since the occupation started. Various government and non-government organizations erected hoardings, streamers, placards and banners inscribed with slogans supporting the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle. Radio and television channels aired special programs to highlight the Kashmir movement.
In Lahore, mainstream religious, religio-political and political parties and human rights organisations arranged rallies, seminars and walks to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren. Jamaat-ud-Daawa organised a mammoth rally on The Mall. Thousands of people from various walks of life, mainly activists of Daawa, participated in the rally from Nasir Bagh to the Faisal Chowk, where top leadership of the parties addressed charged participants. Thousands of participants were carrying flags of Daawa inscribed with the sign of sword and Kalima Tayyaba, and placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of the Kashmir freedom struggle and against the Indian occupation. The participants, waving the flags all along, chanted slogans ‘Kashmirion Se Rishta Kia, La Ilaha Illalah’, ‘Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan, ‘Kashmir Hamara Hai,’ ‘Hindustanio Kashmir Chor Do Ya Jihad Ke Liye Tayyar Ho Jao’, ‘Tera Nagar Mera Nagar Srinagar Srinagar’, ‘Ali Geelani Qadam Barhao Hum Tumharay Sath Hain’ and ‘Hafiz Saeed Qadam Barhao Qaom Tumharay Sath Hain’.
Daawa had made elaborate arrangements for the massive show of solidarity, as people from far-off areas joined the rally in great numbers. The foreign media took a keen interest in the rally, giving special focus to the speeches by Jamaat-ud-Daawa ameer Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and other notable leaders, including Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki and Maulana Amir Hamza. In addition to tight security arrangements by law enforcement agencies, polite Daawa workers checked all before letting them join The Mall rally. Police closed The Mall from Nasir Bagh to the Governor’s House for all traffic a couple of hours before the rally. Police too allowed entry to the rally after a thorough search. Besides police, operatives in plain clothes were also deputed for stricter security. Trained shooters were also posted on all multi-storey buildings along the route of the rally.
Addressing the rally, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that Muslims are not against negotiations, but the track record of India suggests that these would be futile exercises. He urged India to quit Kashmir or face Jehad. “Jehad is for peace. Islam does not allow killing the innocent. But the aggressors are to be given a befitting reply”, Hafiz Saeed said, adding that the west should realise the true spirit of Islam and stop propaganda against Muslims. He urged the rulers to understand the conspiracies India has been hatching against Pakistan. He said that India is working on a plan to capture Balochistan after Kashmir and is encouraging separatist movements there. He said that India staged Mumbai drama but failed to prove its allegations. He said that on the other hand, India failed to conceal the fact that Hindu extremists were involved in the Samjhota Express tragedy.
Vowing to uphold solidarity of the country, he said Kashmir is vital for Pakistan. He said that India is building dams in the occupied territory to stop water for Pakistan, to damage its agriculture and economy. He praised China for taking a firm stance on the actual status of Kashmir. He said that it was Islamabad’s responsibility to support the freedom movement and fight the case of Kashmir. He said that instead of continuing support, the rulers of Pakistan damaged the Kashmir cause after 9/11. He said that now the situation is changing for the better and Kashmir and Palestine will soon get freedom.
Referring to Raymond Davis, he said it is a pity that the USZ is demanding the custody of a killer, but awarded 86-year imprisonment to innocent Aafia Siddiqui. “We will not accept USZ courts if she is not ready to accept ours”, said the Daawa chief. Addressing the rally, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki urged the federal government to create the Ministry of Jehad for Kashmir, saying Daawa is ready to extend financial support and manpower for the cause. He urged the rulers to come out of American slavery and look up to their own people for support. Instead of begging for dialogue, the government should go for Kashmir Jehad, he added. Addressing the rally on the phone from Jammu, Hurriyat leader Shabbir Shah thanked the people of Pakistan for supporting Kashmiris, and expressed hope that Kashmir will get freedom soon. Solidarity of Pakistan is critical not only to the Kashmiris but also to the entire Muslim world, he said, adding that the Indian forces are using all resources to crush Kashmiris, but freedom is only round the corner. Maulana Amir Hamza said that the so-called world powers created East Timor out of Indonesia and divided Sudan, but are declaring Kashmiris terrorists.
He demanded an exemplary punishment for Raymond Davis for killing innocent Pakistanis. He said that the people will throw (President) Zardari, (Prime Minister) Gilani and the Sharif brothers out of power if Raymond was handed over to America. Maulana Amir Hamza said if the rulers handed over Raymond to him, he (Raymond) would confess all crimes. Abdul Salam bin Muhammad said that it was high time for Jehad and not inconclusive dialogues. JUI leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed said that the rulers of Pakistan damaged the Kashmir cause and rubbed salt into Kashmiris’ wounds by initiating a bus service and by vying for Indian friendship. He said the Kashmiris kept the cause alive with their blood. He urged the rulers to learn a lesson from Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen and mend their ways.
Hurriyat leader Ghulam Muhammad Saffi, vowing to continue the struggle, said sacrifices of the Kashmiris will not go waste. Referring to a statement by former president Pervez Busharraf and former foreign minister Khursheed Kasuri that Pakistan and India had reached a consensus but Ali Geelani marred it, he said the Hurriyat leader opposed the idea as it was against the aspirations of the people of Pakistan and Kashmir. He said that the Hurriyat leader has urged Pakistan to stop begging for dialogues and press India to accept Kashmir as a disputed territory.
Saif Ullah Mansoor said that barbed wires would fail to stop Mujahideen from hoisting the Jehad flag in Srinagar. He urged the rulers not to be scared of India, as Pakistan is an atomic power and the leverage should be used for Kashmir solution. In another remarkable event of the day, thousands of people formed human chains on all bridges linking Pakistan with AJK – including Kohala, Dhalkot, Azad Pattan, Holar, Mangla, Dhangalli and Bararkot.
Meanwhile, veteran Kashmir leader Ali Shah Geelani expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani people for exhibiting solidarity with them, saying that the zeal shown on Kashmir Solidarity Day is clear message to the world, especially India, that the Pakistan government and people stand by Kashmiris. In Islamabad, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Abdul Rasheed Turabi addressed a large pubic gathering and paid homage to the efforts of Kashmiris. He said the unprecedented uprising in Kashmir has shaken the Indian government to the hilt, and nervous Indians are trying to suppress the movement through coercive measures. Turabi urged the government to play its role for the independence of Kashmir as a party to the issue. Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani, in his telephonic address to the rally, said that no one could stop the Kashmir freedom movement by force. He criticized Busharraf, saying he had damaged the Kashmir cause. He stressed the need for a strong stance of the Pakistan government, and demanded that it should internationally highlight the Indian forces’ brutalism against armless Kashmiri.

Ideology of Pakistan

The basis of nationhood in Pakistan is Islam. Islam acted as a nation-building force long before the establishment of Pakistan. Muslims eventually developed a national consciousness in the indo-Pakistan Sub continent, they collectively struggled for the right of self determination and the establishement of an independent homeland to be carved out from those territories where they formed majorities. They eventually secured what they wanted. Hence the historical fact which could not be denied is that the formation of the muslim nation preceded the demand for muslim homeland. Pakistan by herself didn’t give birth to any nation; on the contrary, the Muslim nation struggled for and brought Pakistan into being. Therefore pakistan is not the cause of any kind of nationhood. She’s only an affect, a result or a fruit of the struggle of the Muslim nation for territorial specification.
Our identity as a Pakistani:
We claim to be Pakistanis, only for the purpose of distinction or identification among other nations of the world. Pakistan nationhood is not the real basis for the unity of the State in Pakistan; it is merely an apparent basis. Our primary consideration is Islam which cements us as a nation and also provides the basis for the unity of the State.
The same can be said regarding Patriotism, i.e., laying down one’s life for the country. Muslims DO NOT have a notion of Pakistan as a ‘Motherland’ or a ‘fatherland’. They do not believe in worshipping the geographical features of the country. They are not supposed to lay down their lives merely for the dust, trees, deserts, mountains or rivers. This form of patriotism according to them, is idolatrous. But in their native soil, Muslims are ups in arms to lay down their lives for the religio-cultural principles on which the state of Pakistan is founded i.e, Islam. Quaid-e-Azam clearly illustrated these principles in his following address:
“Now you have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic democracy, Islamic social Justice and the equality of man in your own native soil. You will have to be alert, very alert, for the time of relaxation is not yet there.”
Our ideology - Islam:
Pakistan is an ideological state for it claims to be Islamic. It is not a ‘theocratic’ State because Islam is essentially a polity and aspires to create a civil society. Quaid-e-Azam clarified this point in his broadcast as:
“Make no mistake: Pakistan isn’t a theocracy or anything like it. Islam demands from us the tolerance of other creeds and we welcome in closest association with us all those who, of whatever creed, are themselves willing and ready to play their part as true and loyal citizens of Pakistan.”
Islam doesn’t recognize the distinction between the ‘spiritual’ and the ‘profane’. According to Islam the spiritual and the temporal obligations are not only connected with each other but it is necessary for every Muslim to constantly endeavour to realise the spiritual values while performing his temporal ones. Hence “Secularism” is an integral part of Islam and it is for the very reason that the Islamic State assimilates the qualities of an IDEAL ‘Secular State’.
‘Secular’ in a sense, where the state guarantees religious freedom to every citizen with out distinction of religion or race, aims at promoting the material advancement and welfare of all its citizens. The Islamic State as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam, embraces the qualities of the very same ideal ‘Secular State’.
In this state, every citizen is granted the right of their religious freedom. Sunnis, Shias, Wahabis etc., Hindus, Christians, Parsis, Buddhists and all other religions are free to profess their respective personal faiths. Islamic theology recognizes a distinction of meanings of the words ‘Mazhab’ and ‘Deen’. ‘Mazhab’ means personal faith, viewpoint or path; whereas ‘Deen’ means a body of universal principles of Islam which are applicable to the entire humanity. Therefore Islam being our ‘Deen’ is the fundamental pillar of the State of Pakistan unlike ‘Mazhab’ since it is neither founded on any personal viewpoint nor on any particular sect. Thus in the political sense, irrespective of their religion or race, all Pakistanis are citizens of the Islamic State of Pakistan on equal terms. This vital aspect of the Islamic State of Pakistan was illustrated by Quaid-e-Azam in his famous presidential address to the Constituent Assembly on 11th August, 1947, when he proclaimed:
“You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other place or worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste or creed that has nothing to do with the business of the State. We are starting with this fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of one State.”

Forgotten purpose of independence

Being independent is a great gift from Allah which we are most fortunate to be blessed with. We have the freedom of choice and decision, it's up to us to become what we want. But the thing most of us forget is that along with freedom comes responsibility, honor, dignity and most importantly our ethical values which should be highly acknowledged.
Pakistan was passed on to us by our great ancestors who sacrificed their lives so we may live peacefully today. Why do we forget the basis on which Pakistan came into creation? People before us took risks at everything they owned without caring for what they had to lose, they continued to face a myriad of obstacles for Pakistan. They had their minds focused and nothing deterred them from achieving their dreams. The Hindus and Sikhs tried everything to put a stop our Muslim brothers and sisters but they had already committed themselves for a noble cause to which there was no end.
Our people endured pain, suffering and poverty because of the inhuman acts of our enemies who were and still are pitched at the lowest intellectual level or I rather use the word savages in their context. But our people valiantly fought in the name of Allah to create a separate homeland where Muslims could practice their religion freely. However, things today in Pakistan have taken the opposite direction. We have gone astray, chosen the path towards our own destruction, as a result we are going through calamitous experiences putting the prestige of our nation at risk each day. We have lost our ability to make the right decisions at the right time. Ask yourself why? Give a thought to how Pakistan was supposed to be and where do we stand now. What brought us to these circumstances? Where did each of us go wrong?
Its because we have forgotten our identity, our potential and our capabilities. The very first thing is that our identity is Islam, our faith is the most important thing to us. We were born as a Muslim and we would like to die with it and for it. We need to change our characters on what Islam teaches us to do.
Most of us follow what the non-Muslims and the western world says. Why do we feel proud of acting more like them then following our own ways. If they say "Music is food for the soul" or even "Everything is fair in Love and War", then why do we say the same thing when both of these ideas are nothing but rubbish if you give a thought to what they mean. Today when you ask little children that who is their hero or ideal, they reply you naming a bunch of actors from movies, especially Indian movies. They are the people who perform pathetically to display themselves as so called heroes in made up stories and most of them based on nothing close to reality. India has been our enemy before we even came into existence and to this day it still carries on with its ominous plans to destroy us as a nation. Then I would like to ask those people that why in the world do they keep on wasting their money on DVDs and television-cable connections to view them? They waste their precious time and call it entertainment but what about dignity and self-respect? Isn't that more important to you? Young children who are going to be the next generation of Pakistan have heroes like these freaks stuck in their minds instead of those people who proved themselves to be one. It's them who served the Muslim world and followed the path of righteousness. Indian media has infiltrated into our lives so tragically that the people have lost their way.
We still have time to change ourselves and stand for what we believe in. Pakistan is ours, it's our land. We cannot just sit back and watch America, India, Israel and even the filthy rich politicians ruling us ,from behind the scenes ruin it. Pakistan is our love, can we let anyone harm it? It's where we live, now who would be insane enough to let someone destroy their home and walk all over it before their very eyes? If it's fear holding you back, then kill it before it flourishes inside you and work towards the betterment and prosperity of our society. Show your enemies that who do they think they're messing with.

Pakistan's past, present and future - Islam.

The relation between Pakistan and us, is the name of summing up all love, responsibilities and duties that we owe to our mother land. Therefore we need to look into our conscience to examine our accountability that we owe to this sacred land and let us analyse at what level of sincerity are we with our mother land.
To begin this, we shall look into our tough past full of hardships, when this land had been possible to be established by the sacrifice of 50+ lac Shuhadaa.
We see many weak Muslim families, who plead before the merciless Hindu shopkeeper out of sheer helplessness. They even become willing to give their valuable lands just for the sake of the marriages of their daughters or merely for their survival, being in need of a few pennies. We even see clearly those labourers, gardeners and clerks, forced to own the lowest grade professions, poisoned by poverty just because they happen to be Muslims. The societal plight of Muslims with their crushed identity, makes the blood boil.
We see a typical hindu grumbling in severe anger which distorts his face. On hearing carefully, we come to know that this grumbling is because a Muslim’s shadow had fallen upon this typical Hindu and now to purify his self, he needs to do ‘ashnan’.
In the atmosphere of sheer hatred and bias, under heavy ideological and financial pressure, the horrifying plight, hunger, poverty, lack of resources and lack of opportunities, an English historian “William Hunter” in his book, “Over Indian Musalmans” describing the critical situation of Muslims writes, “ Muslims wrote a collective application to Areesa’s Commissioner that due to poverty and hunger our condition is worse, so much that if you intend to send us to the deserts of Siberia or the snow covered peaks of mountains of Himalayas to earn a few pennies, we are willing!”
The bitter realities of our past have stirred a concentrated amount of guilt and embarrassment due to our present day’s conditions. In the atmosphere of hopelessness, it reveals on us, that from 1937 to 1947, the biased All India National Congress has passed a bill under which, the entire population has been bound to sing the ugly anthem of “bande matram” . More over the part of this anthem, “Muslims are cruel, kill them wherever you find them” was a must read for every Muslim. Height of hatred and disgrace!
Later at the time of independence, the history is witness, how brutally the Muslims had been massacred. The Muslim daughters were found slaughtered in the wells while the entire trains were buttered. Simultaneously Muslims of many areas, including Aiman-a-bad used to give refuge to the daughter of hindus.
We went through our bitter, past comprising of sheer hardships. We achieved the piece of this sacred land at the cost of several sacrifices of our ancestors. In this land lie our, honour, dignity, peace, all beautiful colours, our joys, our assets. This land is the gift of valour, bravery and honour of our glorious ancestors. It’s our refuge, our home and the home for our coming generations.
The question is, how strong have we built the walls of our shelter? The building of Pakistan stands on the pillars of Islam. Islam teaches us Unity, brotherhood and fraternity. Lets not weaken the basis of our home and hold the rope of Islam firm so that we can be sure about the firmness of our roots deep in the ground which will automatically wave the green flag high up in the air, hoisted at the top of this sacred building.

Pakistan has NO escape from Islam

Read on Pakistan Cyber Force Facebook Page
After the passing of 1962 constitution, I noticed something peculiar that in all the documents of the government, the word 'Islam' was not written with the name of Pakistan. First, I thought that it might be an error in the drafting, but after some days I came to know that the error was repeated several times and it seemed more intentional than unintentional. I wrote a note to President Ayub Khan to allow me to write a letter to all the ministries about this frequent error. One evening, He came to me and told me that it is not an error but we have taken this decision with a general consensus.
President Ayub Khan told me that the name of Pakistan will be "Republic of Pakistan" instead of "Islamic Republic of Pakistan". If I had the courage, I would have asked him : "Who are you to eliminate the word 'Islam' from the name of Pakistan?" However I came back home and wrote a two pages note, the summary of which is as following:
Pakistan has no escape from Islam. The history of this country is very old but its geography is new. The Red-cliff line between Pakistan and India was drawn for the purpose that we acquired this piece of land on the name of Islam. If now Islam is erased from the name of Pakistan, the limitation of this line will have no meaning. We became Pakistan for the sole reason that we are Muslims. If Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, Iraq and Turkey eliminate Islam from their lives, they would still retain their identity as Afghans, Irani, Egyptian, Iraqi and Turks. But if we, Pakistanis, try to escape from Islam, Pakistan will not have any distinction of its own. Now, if Islam suits our luxurious life or not, Islam fits to our way of life or not, We personally follow Islam or not, the truth is that whether for the sake of saving our hereafter or for the worldly profit and selfishness, we are compelled to keep Pakistan and Islam parallel to each other for the sake of the long lasting of Pakistan. Due to the illiteracy of others, there is no need to go into the inferiority complex yourself.
In addition to this note, I also wrote a resignation letter to resign if this note is not accepted. Next Day President Ayub came to me to tell me something, He sat infront of me and took that note from my hand and started reading it. After reading few sentences, his facial expressions changed suddenly and he started reading from the beginning again. Then he said slowly: "Yes, Right You Are" and repeated this sentence again, and hence the word 'Islam' was added to the name of Pakistan.
