در بحر فم غیرِ قرآن مضمراست
اے فروغت صبح اعصار و دہور
چشمِ تو بینندہ مَافیِ الصُدور
پردہ ناموس فکرم چاک کن
ایں خیاباںرا ز خارم چاک کن
تنگ کن رختِ حیات اندر برم
اہلِ ملترا نگہدار از شرم
سبز کشتِ نا بسامانم مکن
بہرہ گیر از اابرِ نیسانم مکن
خشک گرداں بادہ در انگورِ من
زہر ریز اندر مئے کافورِ من
روز محشر خوار و رسوا کن مرا
بے نصیب از بوسہ پاکن مرا
گر دُرِ اسرار قرآں سفتہ ام
با مسلماناں اگر حق گفتہ ام
اے کہ از احسانِ تو ناکس کس است
یک دعا مزد گفتارم بس است
عرض کن پیشِ خدائے عزوجل
عشق من گردد ہم آغوشِ عمل
Meaning:
If indeed the mirror of my heart is without lusture, and if there is anything in my words other than the Qur'an, then, beloved Prophet Muhammed s.a.w, your light is the dawn for the entire world, your eye is the founder of the secrets that lie in one's breast. O Prophet, rend the fabric of my thoughts, sweep clean the world of my offending thorn, choke in my breast the breath of life, remove my wicked mischief from the community of your followers, do not nurture the life of my seed, do not provide me any portion from spring’s fecund showers, disgrace me on the day of reckoning, and do not allow me the honour of kissing your feet.
On the other hand, if I have conveyed in my poems the pearls of the sweet mysteries of the Qur’an, and if what I have said to my fellow Muslims is true, then do supplicate that God may bestow on my loving passion the wealth of virtuous action.
