"Time for Talks is Over!", Gen. Raheel tells Nawaz Sharif

Print Friendly and PDF

At Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s palatial offices in Islamabad this week, the army chief sat down to deliver the head of government a message he did not want to hear: The time for talks with the troublesome Pakistani Taliban was over.

Sharif came to power a year ago promising to find a peaceful settlement with the Islamist militant group, but as round after round of talks failed, the powerful armed forces favoured a military solution.

Their patience finally ran out and, late on Tuesday afternoon, during a tense meeting, the army effectively declared it would override a crucial plank of the government’s strategy and take matters into its own hands.

“The army chief and other military officers in the room were clear on the military’s policy: the last man, the last bullet,” a government insider with first-hand knowledge of the meeting told a foreign news agency.

Asked to sum up the message General Raheel Sharif wanted to convey at the gathering, he added: “The time for talk is over.”

The next day, Pakistani forces launched rare air strikes against militants holed up in the remote, lawless tribal belt near the Afghan border. It is not clear whether Sharif authorized the operation.

On Thursday, they backed that up with the first major ground offensive against the Taliban there, undermining Sharif’s year-long attempt to end a bloody insurgency across his country through peaceful means.

Disagreement over the militant threat is the latest row to flare up between the government and military, and relations between the two branches of power are at their lowest ebb for years, according to government officials.

The government did say talks with the Taliban would go on.

“We will talk with those who are ready for it and the (military) operation is being launched against those who are not ready to come to the negotiating table,” spokesman Pervez Rashid told local media on Thursday.

But the operations put the military, which has a long record of intervening in civilian rule through plots and coups, firmly back at the centre of Pakistan’s security policy.

The balance of power is shifting at a time when foreign troops are preparing to withdraw from Afghanistan, and arch-rival India has just elected a Hindu nationalist leader promising to be more assertive on the international stage.

“This is the clearest signal yet that the army will dictate its terms now,” a member of Sharif’s cabinet said.

TALIBAN ON THE OFFENSIVE

The Pakistani Taliban, as distinct from the Afghan Taliban which is actively targeting NATO forces in Afghanistan, is believed to be behind attacks on Pakistani soldiers and civilians that have killed thousands in recent years.

The Pakistan army has distinguished between “good” Taliban like the feared Haqqani network – who do not attack Pakistani security forces but fight in Afghanistan – and “bad” Taliban, indigenous Pakistani militants who are seeking to create an Islamic state.

While Pakistan’s military wants to go after the “bad” Taliban, it has, despite pressure from Washington, largely avoided taking on groups who launch attacks against coalition forces in Afghanistan from Pakistan’s North Waziristan region.

Prompting the latest intervention, the Pakistani Taliban have become increasingly bold, striking the army in tribal areas including a recent battle in which an army major died. Earlier this month, nine soldiers were killed in an explosion near the Afghan border.

“We will avenge the blood of every last soldier. Talks or no talks, the army will retaliate,” said one military official, who, like most others interviewed for this article, spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the subject.

The army has ruled Pakistan for more than half of its history. Sharif himself was toppled by the army in 1999 during his previous tenure as prime minister.

But, humiliated after a secret 2011 U.S. raid that killed Osama bin Laden on Pakistani soil, the army stood back from politics and supported last year’s first democratic transition of power which brought Sharif back to office.

Sharif manoeuvred carefully, hand picking a new army chief and trying to forge a partnership with the military in the early days of his tenure, but the overtures had little lasting impact.

TRADE, DIPLOMACY

There are other signs of civil-military discord.

Sharif came to power promising to rebuild relations with India, but has been under pressure to toughen his stance from hardliners at home, particularly within the army.

The nuclear-armed neighbours have fought three wars since independence from Britain in 1947, two of them over the still-disputed Himalayan territory of Kashmir.

Sharif’s policies towards India have been heavily scrutinized; some in the army justify its hefty budget by pointing to – and, critics say, playing up – the potential threat from India.

And despite signs the military has become more amenable to overtures from its old foe than in the past, a trade deal pushed by the prime minister and aimed at improving ties with India was cancelled at the last minute after pressure from the army, top government officials said.

Sharif now faces a dilemma over whether to accept an invitation by Indian Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi to attend his inauguration next week.

The army is also bitter about the trial of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, who ousted Sharif from power in 1999 and was arrested after he returned to Pakistan to take part in last year’s election.

Ties with Afghanistan have never been easy, but some officials believe the army wants to torpedo the government’s relationship with a future Kabul administration, risking deterioration in regional security as NATO troops prepare to leave this year.

Generals have jealously guarded the right to dictate policy on Afghanistan, seeing friendly guerrilla groups as “assets” to blunt the influence of India there.

TENSIONS COME TO SURFACE

Though simmering under the surface, tensions between the government and the army spilled into the open last month when a popular journalist was shot by unknown gunmen, and his channel, Geo News, blamed the army’s powerful spy agency, the Directorate of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Public criticism of the shadowy ISI is almost unheard of in Pakistan. In a rare public response, the army demanded that Geo News, the country’s most-watched news channel, be shut down.

The government’s media regulator has since resisted the army’s demands to cancel the channel’s license, which the military sees as a direct sign of defiance.

“Everyone was looking out to see how the government would treat the army in this crisis — as a friend or foe?” said a senior military official. “But the government allowed this to become a free-for-all, army-hunting season.”

For Sharif, buckling under military pressure is a major risk. “This is not about one TV channel but about freedom of expression and about living in a democracy,” Rashid said. “We should live and let live.”

But despite putting on a brave front, officials say the government is feeling under siege.

“Never in the last year has the government felt weaker or more vulnerable,” one of Sharif’s key economic advisers said. “Now every time we have to take a major decision, on India, on Afghanistan, we will have to think ‘How will the army react?’”

A serving general said the army chief would always pick the “institution over the constitution if push comes to shove,” adding: “As a society and a state, we have to avoid a context in which the army is pushed to do something it doesn’t want to.”

Khawarij: Has the Destructive Ideology Reincarnated? PART II

Print Friendly and PDF

By: Ahmed Raza

Continuation of: Khawarij: Has the Destructive Ideology Reincarnated? PART I

The process of polluting Muslim school of thought started well before the incident of 1979 by radical ideologies like Egyptian ex-Communist Sayyid Qutb. He declared that a Muslim is either a “revolutionist” or an infidel, and went so far as to declare all the Islamic societies of his time apostate and fit to be overthrown, invoking the memory of the original Kharijis.

Leo Strauss an American philosopher also famous to be the God Father of the Neocons was responsible to draw a parallel theory of American nationalism on the lines Qutb’s apostate theory of own and other Islamic nations. Similarity lied in the aim, destruction of Islamic Civilization for Khawarijs and subsequent control of west on 60% of world’s energy resources for Americans Neocons. The only difference was the basic foundation on which both the extremists were drawing the lines. As Strauss was in knowledge of the divorce between the Church and the State long before his era, concentrated on selfish individualism of American masses and used the ideology of American Nationalism to its optimum. The said treatment was claimed to be done by Strauss to stop the decaying process of American society.

On the other hand, the strong concept of a religious Statesman in Islam couldn’t really diffuse the importance of religion; this made Sayyid Qutb to use religion as the driving force against the rulers of the Muslim world especially in Egypt. He was executed after a short trial conducted by Egyptian Government in 1966, but the seed to violence was sewed in the land of Islam.

After the death of Qutb, Aiman al Zahawari the die-hard follower of Sayyid Qutb took charge of protests launched after the execution of his ideal; the Egyptian started his agenda of polluting the Muslim societies with his takfiri ideology basing on the very foundation laid down by his master.

In a BBC documentary “The Power of Nightmare”, Aiman Al Zahawari has been shown leading the slogans against the Egyptian Government in a jail. Something very exceptional can be easily pointed out that Zahawari was reciting an incomplete Kalmaa (Tayyaba) ie “La Illaha Ilallah”, not reciting “Muhammad ur Rasool Allah”. This indeed shows an in different attitude towards the prophet of Islam, again invoking the memory of first Kharij, who was disrespectful to the prophet in one of the gatherings. The head shaved bearded man was from tamimi tribe and when he left the scene, prophet told his companions that “in his descend people will come who will be the worst creatures on this earth”.  Those who will kill them will be best rewarded by Allah swt. “They will look more religious in their deeds and will apparently propagate concepts which will not be in contravention to Islam but latently follow their evil agenda”. “They will use young innocent minds for their evil designs”. “They will kill Muslims and leave non-believers”.

Now nexus between Neocons and Khawarij was in evitable, the Muslim world couldn’t realize the depth and in turn horrific result of the said nexus. Factually speaking this was the second time this nexus was worked out in the history of Islam. It was in 11th century during Crusades when Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubbi was fighting for the holy lands and from inside Hassan Bin Sabbah was busy in his terrorist activities through his suicidal attacks from the Castle of Death. Even, one of the bravest General of the Muslim history could not root out Hassan bi Sabbah until he was killed by furious Tartars.

After pulverizing the Arab societies especially in Middle East and North Africa, the satanic ideology of Kharjites was picked up by Western powers (Neocons) to use their barbaric cruelty for their own agenda. The said western schema was indeed in line with the Kharijites ( Aiman Al Zahawari) and the deal was on……………..the Ghost of Al Qaida.

Scene was set, after the defeat of Soviets in Afghanistan. It must be kept in mind that there was no single incident of suicide bombing even against Russians in 11 years of war between Mujahedeens and Russian Army. Now the Kharijites were poured in Afghanistan and Pakistan by westerners, with agendas of both complimenting each other. The targets were zeroed and fixed.

It’s time for 9/11, Afghan invasion and exploitation of Pakistan. Kharjites are now operating in the name of different terrorist organizations such as TTP (Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan). Numerous evidences are on record to prove this historical but evil nexus such as:

  • Recovery of Indian and American weapons from Kharijites (TTP)
  • Recovery of dollars and Indian currencies from the terrorists.
  • Bodies of militants killed in action by Pakistan Army are not circumcised (One of the basic requirement for a Muslim)
  • Dirty Tattos pierced on the back of one of a TTP terrorist
  • Hundreds of attacks on Mosques in Pakistan
  • Brutal killings of Muslims of Pakistan
  • No breather from drone attacks despite of the fact, that they are only improving the strength of suicidal recruits operating for Al Qaida and TTP.

The question now arises that how Pakistan can get out of this strangle hold of this potent nexus? This not only demands sophisticated strategic moves on political front but also correct employment of forces at operational and tactical level to counter original aim of the said nexus i.e. Destruction of Nuclear Pakistan. With Indian inclusion in the nexus, the dynamics of the issue has changed drastically and it has linked with the unrest in Baluchistan as well. Only military moves not coupled with societal reformations and education will not suffice the intensity for dealing with this dreadful situation.

One must take into account that success of Swat operation was due to a forceful reply from a coherent society of Swatis, which repelled the evil concept of Khawarijs with determination and steadfastness. Pakistani Armed Forces operated in a highly professional manner with political and media’s will behind them.

This needs to carry on for some time more, with same zeal, for clearing the whole of Pakistan from this menace. All the state tentacles especially judiciary and media should play the most pivotal role in educating society with authenticity (in the light of Hadiths) and deliberation, so that the common can himself pull out from these Khawarijs and contribute towards an exemplary punishment to these enemies of Islam and Pakistan.

It’s high time to educate Pakistan’s Islamic society about the real face of this Khariji Ideology in the context of TTP and alike terrorist organizations. The role of Pakistani Ulemas must be in line with interest of Islam and Pakistan.

Khawarij: Has the Destructive Ideology Reincarnated? Part I

By: Ahmed Raza

Pakistan in its 63 years of existence has gone through many natural and far more than that, men made disasters (Wars). One of which Pakistan is still fighting- has no designated battle field-enemy has no uniform- Complete country is a battle ground now. We have lost more than 15000 Pakistanis in this war of unknown killing zone. Is this not the time to ponder and study the roots of this horrifying enemy? One, who has transformed us in a society of chauvinistic and psychologically depressed human beings, yes, We are very late to respond but nations do commit mistakes-we all did it-it’s time to react to the realized fact. Rebirth of Khawarijs (The Deviators) on this planet is the case in discussion here, especially when they are now entrenched against us in the silhouette of terrorist organizations like TTP (Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan). For analytical assessment of their agenda it’s always better to refer history.

It was 1st Muharram of 1400th Islamic year (20th November 1979)-Mecca was praying as usual in the Grand mosque Kaaba-as the Imam finished his prayers some young Arabs equipped with automatic weapons entered the arena. All the gates were closed leading to the inner part of the mosque Mataf. Juhayman ibn Muhammad ibn Sayf al-Otaibi presented a young man aged approx 25 years, Muhammad bin Abdullah as Mahdi – the crowd was stunned-they took over the control of the Grand mosque within minutes as professional trained soldiers…………………….

One of the most horrendous events in the Islamic history had happened, the Holiest Grand Mosque of Muslims the Kaaba was attacked and sieged by a fake Mahdi supported by Juhayman ibn Muhammad ibn Sayf al-Otaibi. It shook the very foundation of Al Saud Kingdom, Mecca’s bloody siege lasted two weeks, causing hundreds of deaths and inflaming human rage all around the globe.

To understand the reasons leading to this horrific episode, it is imperative to look into annuls of recent history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with emphasis on the ruling family of Al Saud.

…………..The Al Saud family that today rules the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a member of the Anizah, a Northern Arabian or Adnani, tribal confederation historically located in the Najd, or Central Arabian Peninsula. The family derives its name from its 18th Century ancestor, Muhammad bin Saud, who joined forces with an austere Islamic reformer, Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab, in a military religious alliance for control over Central Arabia. Muhammad bin Saud was defeated by the Egyptian Army, which moved to Arabia for protecting Hejaz on the orders of the Ottoman Caliph.

The left job was taken over after a century by Abdul Aziz Bin Saud, who captured Najd and eastern coast of Arabia by 1912. In 1925 the forces of Ibn Saud captured the holy city of Mecca from Sharif Hussein bin Ali, ending 700 years of Hashemite rule. On 21 April 1925 the Saudis destroyed some of the most holy places of Islam, Jannat-ul-Baqi and Jannat-ul-Mualla, hence completing the agenda of military-religious alliance of Ibn Saud with Wahabbis.  On 10 January 1926, Ibn Saud proclaimed himself King of the Hejaz in the Great Mosque at Mecca. On 20 May 1927, the British government signed the Treaty of Jeddah, which abolished the Darin protection agreement and recognized the independence of the Hejaz and Najd with Ibn Saud as its ruler.

What happened in 1927 was triggered during The First World War which changed the political dynamics of the heartland of the Muslim world, abolition of Ottoman Caliphate brought western concept of state and nation hood. The concept of Euro Christians with sovereignty rests with the people prevailed in the center of Islamic civilization. Role of British diplomacy and created fervor of Saudi nationalism (courtesy British unprecedented help) paved the way for the first Monarch of Hejaz the Saud Family.

The said diplomacy of British in Arabian Peninsula was multi-dimensional but highly integrated.

First of all, the objective of snatching control of the Hejaz the holy lands (Mecca and Madina) from the Caliph.
Secondly Britain wanted a friendly regime in control of the Hejaz so that it could better be able to manipulate the politics of the peninsula.
Finally, the politics of the peninsula and the defeat of the Ottomans were strategically linked to Zionism’s efforts to build a diabolical consensus with Britain in the pursuit of the creation of a Jewish National Home in Palestine.
Fall of Caliphate lead to non-existence of Dar al Islam. Nowhere in the world, it exists now, as it has never existed.

A little about Dar al-Islam,

While the Hejaz was Dar al-Islam every Muslim had the right to enter that territory.

  • He did not need a visa.
  • There was no such thing as Saudi sovereignty.
  • There was no such thing as Saudi citizenship.
  • The right of entry into any part of Dar al-Islam was one of several rights which Muslims had, such as the right to reside in Dar al-Islam,
  • They did not need residence permits, the right to seek livelihood in any part of Dar al-Islam, they did not need a work permits etc.

The birth of the State of Saudi Arabia resulted in the denial and eventual elimination of all these rights of Muslims as Ummah. What made present Saudi Arabia and especially Al Saud Family win over the confidence of the complete Muslim world? It was through an exceptional support of British to Al Saud family, after the fall of Caliphate, which did this magic for them. On the other hand to gain all possible control over the Hejaz, the Saud family also enforced very strict brand of Islam(Wahabbism) in the new born state. The century old military-alliance between Al Saud and Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhab was best achieved now, with Muslims strictly following Wahabbi sect (the purest form of Islam) as they claim, right in the heart-land of Islam-the Hejaz.

Every sect of Islam has its own effects on the minds of the people; the Wahabi perception is also not alien to this effect. The fanatical chapter of Wahabbi ideology of Islam gave rebirth to Takhfiri concept of Islam associated with Kharijites.

Aḥmad, Muslim, and Ibn Mājah recorded a Ḥadīth from Abū Dharr who narrated that, Allah’s messenger said:

“There will definitely be a people after me from my nation who will recite the Quran yet it will not even reach beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through a target, then they will not return back to it. They are the worst of people, the worst of all creatures”.

The origin of Kharijism lies in the first Islamic civil war, the struggle for political supremacy over the Muslim community in the years following the death of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). After the third caliph (Uthman ibn Affan), a struggle for succession ensued between Caliph Ali and Muʿāwiyah, the governor of Syria and cousin of Uthman.

According to the concept of Kharijites the caliphate of Abu Bakr and Umar were rightly guided but believed that Uthman ibn Affan had deviated from the path of justice and truth in the last days of his caliphate, and hence was liable to be killed or displaced. They also believed that Ali ibn Abi Talib committed a grave sin whence he agreed on the arbitration. In the Battle of Siffin, Ali acceded to Muʿāwiyah’s suggestion to stop the fighting and refuge to negotiation. A large portion of Ali’s troops (who later became the first Kharijites) refused to concede to that agreement, and they considered that Ali has breached a Qur’anic verse which states that The decision is only for Allah (Qur’an 6:57), and hence the Kharijites thought that the outcome of a conflict can only be decided in battle (by God) and not in negotiations (by human beings). Later on, Abu lo lo feroze majoose a renowned Khawarij killed the Fourth Caliph of Islam “Ali”.

Al-Bukhārī, Muslim, and Abū Dāwūd recorded a narration in which ‘Alī said:

“There will come towards the end of time a people who will be young in age, having reckless and deficient intellects. They will speak with the statements of the best of creation, yet they will pass through Islam just as an arrow passes through a target. Their faith will not even reach beyond their throats. Wherever you find them, kill them, for whoever kills them will have a reward on the Day of Resurrection”.

Coming back to the events of Kaaba 1979, what was immediately required for Saudi Army to operate with conviction to end the fiasco, was a Fatwa by the highest religious council of the country. As fighting in the holy land was completely prohibited by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), any defaulter in this regard was to be executed without fail. The Juhayaman and his men along with The Fake Mahdi were to be executed on the authority of that fatwa, as they breached the order of Prophet in the Holy Kaaba.

Bin Baaz, the religious head of the Saudi Government was a prominent Wahabbi scholar, who was to act promptly to end this embarrassment of highest order. He, on the other hand has been ignoring the wrongful deeds of Juhayaman in the past, to an extent, that about a year back he got him released from Governments custody on the charges of suspicious activities against the state. It is imperative here to mention that Juhayaman was a staunch practicing Wahabbi and this fact was very well known to Bin Baaz.

It took more than three days to get the appropriate Fatwa from Bin Baaz and his council. Even convergence of all 22 ulemas in Ryiadh to frame the required Fatwa was not achieved after 48 hours of the catastrophe.

All is well that ends well, Saudi troops acted promptly after the initiation of Fatwa, which clearly declared Juhayaman and his men as Kharijites (deviators). The perpetrators were executed as per the law, but the ridiculous khariji ideology was born yet again.

In the next article I will make an endeavour to crystallize the happenings leading to transportation of this re-born Khariji ideology to Pakistan and what role US and India played in it.

Is the rotten Pakistani Politics at daggers drawn?

Print Friendly and PDF

BrassTacks -- Pakistan’s National Security Analysis -- for those who are NOT deaf, dumb and blind!!

Taking advantage of the anarchy, chaos, confusion and weakest leadership in Pakistan, Indian tried to change the geography of the Line of Control on the Kashmir front. A short, fierce battle ensued but Indians failed and were pushed back though the environment in the area remains tense. For many months now, Indians have been focusing on supporting the insurgencies, TTP and BLA against Pakistan and had not been directly engaging Pakistan army on the eastern sector. This attempt by the Indians is a feeler to test the waters and the preparedness of Pak army. In the coming months, Indians will be conducting more on such probing attacks as the situation within Pakistan is expected to get more and more chaotic.

With the political anarchy spreading across the entire country, the levels of violence, terrorism, urban insurgency and chaos is also rising exponentially. This week also, we saw insane levels of violence in every corner of the country. There is definitely urgency within the insurgents to exploit the political and judicial anarchy.  Security forces are fighting back with all the resources in a war which is a high intensity conflict in an urban environment. From jet fighters to special operations by covert means, all axis of force is being deployed.

There is no doubt that the CIA backed TTP has been badly bruised and pushed back into Afghanistan after a long bloody slog by the Pakistan army. Now the insurgent group is weakened, isolated, dislocated and suing for peace to gain time to regroup. Signing any peace deals with the dreaded terrorist group when they are at their weakest would be a catastrophic military blunder and army is cautioning the government not to rush into any offer by the militants.

But the mission of Pakistan army has been made near to impossible by direct CIA involvement to destroy any pro-Pakistan assets in the region to fight the TTP. There is absolutely no doubt now that CIA is fighting Pakistan through the proxies of TTP and BLA and is actively eliminating all those tribals who sign peace deals with Pakistan or show their willingness to fight the TTP. This treacherous betrayal by the CIA is still NOT acknowledged at the official levels though everyone knows about it at all levels. The secretary defense Lt General Asif Yasin Malik had even mentioned this last week.

This week, CIA eliminated a strong pro-Pakistan local militant commander, Mullah Nazeer, who had earlier survived an assassinating attempt by the TTP. Once TTP failed, CIA sent in a drone to finish the job. In another attack, another pro-Pakistan commander belonging to Hafiz Gul Bahadur group was targeted and eliminated. It is actually that dirty war where CIA is directly fighting Pakistan but the government and the army leadership still remain silent.

*************

While the 4th and 5th generation wars rage within Pakistan, the politicians remain busy in petty squabbles, power grabbing, turf wars and preparing for elections, creating more and more anarchy every day. There is absolutely no concern for the national security, economic collapse or the political or ideological vision. It is a fish market with a bloody touch. MQM and the new entrant Dr. Tahir ul Qadri are threatening a “drone attack” on Pakistan within the next week and turning Islamabad into another Tehreer square.  The ruling PPP’s alliance with other parties is now in a chaos also with all other parties flexing their muscles and looking for best opportunities to grab more power and wealth. Downright dirty it is. Zardari is genuinely concerned now as the date of the “long march” approaches.

Meanwhile, the common citizens and the society suffer staggeringly as the government destroys the last remnants of the state and the economy. It is an artificially created crisis of gas to protect and “bless” the cartels in power to make windfall profits through imports of oil.

As the “last straw” on the camel’s back, the government plans to deploy 150,000 troops for election duties, drawing the already over stretched army from counter insurgency operations and defense of the country on the East. Drawing such a huge number of troops from the strategic reserves or from the active duty troops would mean depleting the national defense to dangerous levels. For now, Pakistan army is going along the PPP regime’s plans but in our assessment this is a fatal mistake which will have staggeringly high cost later on.

The next two weeks would be very critical and decisive in the country. On January 14th, “tehreer square” styled sit-in is planned in Islamabad by “millions” of followers of Altaf Hussian and Tahir ul Qadri – the gangster and the priest have joined hands in a most bizarre alliance which is threatening not just the remains of the government but also the entire decayed political system!

If the march goes ahead, then the field would be open for all forces to intervene. The terrorists would have the sitting ducks to target. The government would deploy its resources to stop the marchers from reaching the parliament. Army would watch in silence with troops ready close by for any intervention if needed.

We would advice no traveling even within Islamabad after 12th January. The game is wide open now but the government and the judiciary as well as the media and the army remain focused on the elections for now or the spoilers who have come from outside to change the rules of the game. The national security and the 4th and 5th generation war is definitely not the priority of any of the power brokers for now. That is the real tragedy.

Who accelerates Sectarian Violence?

Print Friendly and PDF

Although Pakistan has been facing various kinds of subversive activities, yet foreign hostile elements have also accelerated sectarian violence as part of their unfinished agenda to destabilise the country. In the last week of Muharram, several people have been killed and injured in suicide attacks and bomb blasts. Despite the tight security measures, a bomb attack on a procession killed five mourners and wounded more than 80 in Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on November 25 as Shias marked their holiest day Ashura. On day ago, a remote-controlled bomb killed eight people near a Shia procession in the same city. Earlier, 22 people were killed and several injured in Rawalpindi on November 21 when a suicide bomber targeted a Muharram gathering near Imambargah. This terror-event came hours after two bomb blasts occurred in Karachi near Imambargah, which killed three people.

Notably, secret agencies like American CIA, Israeli Mossad and especially Indian RAW are behind sectarian violence in Pakistan, which has been intensified in the past few years. In fact, the US had planned to spark a civil war between the Sunnis and Shias in wake of war on terror. So, we cannot blame these secret agencies without solid evidence. For the purpose, a study of the Rand Corporation, titled ‘US Strategy in the Muslim World After 9/11’ was conducted on behalf of the then US Deputy Chief of Staff for Air Force. The report of the Rand Corporation-a leading think tank, released on December 27, 2004 advocated that Sunni-Shia sectarian division should be exploited to promote the US objectives in the Muslim World. It indicated that a majority of the world’s Muslims are Sunni, but a significant minority, about 15 percent of the global population is Shias.

The report of the Rand Corporation was first implemented in Iraq. In this context, CIA also got the services Mossad and RAW to fuel sectarian violence in Iraq. In 2004, major terror-attacks were carried out against the Shias in Karbala and Baghdad, while US-led some countries accused Iran and Al-Qaeda for the incidents to divert the attention from the said secret agencies. Afterwards, a chain of Shia-Sunni clashes started between Iraqi Shias and Sunnis, targeting each other’s mosques through bomb blasts, suicide attacks, and killings of their religious leaders. The general masses of both the sects, which could not grasp the reality, began to blame each other’s group for the subversive activities.

After Iraq’s experiment, more deadly pattern of sectarian strife and clashes have been conducted in Pakistan. However, Shia-Sunni sectarian violence has continued unabated. In this respect, 20 people were killed in clashes between the extremist Shias and Sunnis after hand grenade attack on the banned organisaton Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat rally in Gilgit city on April 3, 2012. In another incident, nine people were killed when Gunmen killed nine passengers after offloading them from a bus in Chilas. On February 28, gunmen disguised in military uniform hauled 18 Shias off buses and shot them in the Kohistan region. Otherwise, Gilgit-Baltistan province was considered peaceful but external enemies of Pakistan also enveloped it. 26 Shias were killed on February 17 in a suicide bomb assault in Parachinar. Five persons were gunned down on March 28 when a van carrying people of the Hazara community of Shias was ambushed on Spini Road in Quetta. Recently more people of Haza community have been targeted by the militants.

The year of 2011 witnessed a number of sectarian events. For instance, on January 25, a suicide bomber struck in the Urdu Bazaar area of Lahore, killing 10 people including a woman and three Policemen. On February 22, a prominent leader of the Shia community was shot dead by the unidentified attackers in the vicinity of Peshawar. On April 3, 51 persons were killed when two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the shrine of Sufi Saint Ahmed Sultan in Dera Ghazi Khan. On July 28, a prayer leader of Jamia Albadar mosque, Abdul Karim Mengal, was shot dead by unknown activists in Quetta. In September, 26 Shia pilgrims were killed in Mastung when a group of armed men attacked a passenger bus carrying Shia pilgrims from Quetta to Iran. The main aim behind was to fuel sectarian riots in Balochistan. The banned outfit Lashkar-i-Janghvi claimed responsibility for the attack.

As regards 2010, on September 2, triple blasts killed more than 35 persons in Lahore when miscreants targeted the procession of Shias who were celebrating Hazrat Ali’s day of martyrdom. On the same day, seven people including a police constable were injured in Karachi when terrorists opened fire at the Youm-e-Ali rally. Next day, a deadly suicide attack in Quetta killed more than 55 people who participated in the rally of the Al-Quds Day. On May 28, armed assaults on two Ahmadi mosques in Lahore killed more than 70 people. On July 1, in Lahore, more than 45 persons were killed by the two suicide bombers at the Data Darbar.

Similar pattern of attacks have kept on going in 2009. For example, on June 12, a suicide bomber killed five people including anti-Taliban cleric Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi in Lahore. Like other cities, CIA, Mossad and RAW are behind sectarian terrorism in Tirah Valley in Kyber Agency. Since 2008, intermittent fighting between Lashkar-e-Islam and Ansar-ul-Islam has claimed more than 2500 lives. Lashkar Islami is led by fanatic cleric Mangal Bagh who follows the puritanical Deobandi form of Sunni Islam and has close connections with the extremist Taliban of Afghanistan and Teherik Taliban Pakistan. Besides other areas of Pakistan, more than 3000 people died in sectarian violence in Kurram Agency, bordering Afghanistan. Its areas have been hit by fierce clashes, pitching Sunni Muslims against the minority Shia. A number of ceasefires were concluded between the warring sects with the help of government officials and the tribal Maliks, but the same proved fruitless due to the support of Afghanistan where training centers covertly established by RAW are supervising anti-Pakistan activities with the tactical support of CIA and Mossad.

No doubt, some banned religious organisations have claimed responsibility for various sectarian attacks, but it is the game of RAW and CIA which arrange a message for media from an unidentified place in order to divert the attention of people towards these groups, and sometimes towards the Taliban. Otherwise, particularly RAW is well-known for carrying out sectarian terror attacks against minority Shias, Ahmadis, Sufis, Christians, Sikhs, and even Hindus in Pakistan. RAW has hired the services of the Indian Khawarij who have joined the ranks and files of the Tehrik-e-Taliban and other sectarian groups of Pakistan. Posing themselves as staunch believers, these agents target religious leaders and places of worship in Pakistan to incite the sentiments of the people of the opponent sect.

In this context, Pakistan and Iran have become special target of US-Indo-Israeli plot. It is due to the fact that Pakistan is a declared atomic country, while Iran is determined to continue its peaceful nuclear programme. Therefore, US-led some countries, especially India have been sabotaging Pak-Iranian ties covertly, while sectarian unrest is also part of their game. Notably, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and a Sunni militant group Jundollah (God’s soldiers) which get arms and ammunition from RAW and CIA are responsible for many sectarian assaults on Sunnis and Shias. Besides, their affiliated militant groups kidnapped and killed Iranian nationals in Pakistan including Iranian diplomats. Jundollah conducted many subversive acts in the Iranian Sistan-Baluchistan. And Tehran has directly accused CIA of funding these types of terror attack.

While hinting towards US, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei rightly disclosed, “The bloody actions being committed in Iraq, Pakistan and Iran are aimed at creating a division between the Shias and Sunnis…those who carry out these terrorist actions are directly or indirectly foreign agents.” At this critical juncture, Pakistan’s religious scholars, especially those of Sunni-Shia sects must create selfless unity among various factions to get rid of extremism and sectarianism. Media must also play its role by emphasising harmony among these sects. This is the only way to cope with external enemies which have accelerated sectarian violence to in our country.

Afghanistan should hand over Fazlullah to Pakistan: Grossman

Print Friendly and PDF

Pakistan has convincingly taken up the issue of cross-border attacks from Afghanistan with US special envoy Marc Grossman, and sought his help in persuading the Afghan government and ISAF to quell insurgents’ infiltrations into Pakistan side, diplomatic sources said on Sunday. “The civil and military leadership made clear to the US that militants, who had fled the country during the Swat military operation and were operating from Afghanistan’s Kunar and Nuristan provinces, should be extradited to Pakistan,” the sources confided to The Nation.

The authorities impressed upon Grossman to take the matter seriously, as cross-border attacks, led by former TTP Swat commander Maulvi Fazalullah and his fighters, were destabilising Pakistan. The US diplomat praised Pakistan’s role in stabilising the political process in Afghanistan, saying that Pak-US cooperation should continue on the matters of anti-terrorism. “We have many shared interests – including terrorism, supporting a stable and secure Afghanistan, increasing market access and economic opportunity, and supporting civilian democracy, tolerance, pluralism, and civil society,” Grossman was quoted as having said in a statement issued by the US Embassy at the conclusion of his two-day visit to Pakistan on Sunday.

Grossman appreciated Pakistan’s support for an Afghan political process through the US-Afghanistan-Pakistan Core Group, and noted that “we want to continue our important coordination on the border and to counter terrorism in the region. We want to work together to find ways to cooperate to make Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the region secure, stable, and prosperous”. “The frank, honest, and respectful conversations we had are essential to furthering the vital relationship between the United States and Pakistan and to ensuring our shared security and economic prosperity,” he added. The US top diplomat headed into talks with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in Islamabad on how the United States and Pakistan could work together to identify shared interests and act on them jointly. Grossman’s visit follows recent engagements, including Secretary Clinton’s meetings with Foreign Minister Khar in Washington and President Zardari in New York in September, as well as the recent Pakistan-US Law Enforcement and Counterterrorism agreement.

Signs of today's Terrorist Kharjiites

Print Friendly and PDF

The terrorist insurgent group which is waging a war against Pakistan, has cloacked itself in disguise of 'Islam'. In the name of implementing Islamic Sharia System, this terrorist gang has actually strenghthened the Enemies of Islam and Pakistan by creating  utmost bloodshed and anarchy in the country.  According to Hadith, this insurgent group is entitled as "Khawarji" i.e., those who are expelled from the circle of Islam. The Army which will defend the honor of Islam by fighting these Khawarij, is prophecized to enter Paradise by the Holy Prophet (s.a.ww).

The signs of these Khawarij as mentioned in the Ahadith of Holy Prophet (s.a.ww) perfectly conform with the Khawarij Ideology maintained by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and their accomplices. Let's see what Ahadith Mubaraka have to say about these khawarij. The blessed Ahadith have given clear signs and warnings about these Khawarij from which few  of the following are:

In Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, Hazrat Ali (RA) narrates that Holy Prophet Muhammed (s.a.ww) has said:

***Hadith***

Meaning: In the near end of the world, a group of  boys will emerge who will be very young and devoid of intellect (brainwashed). Apparently they will represent Islamic Law (to deceive masses) but in reality Iman (belief in Islam) will not descend down their throats. They will be expelled from Din (Islam) as an arrow is expelled from its prey. So whenever you find them anywhere, kill them! For the one killing them, will be rewarded on the day of Judgement.

********

Imam Muslim (ra) narrates from Zaid Bin Wahab Jahni (ra):

***Hadith***

Meaning: He was in that force with Hazrat Ali (RA) which had gone at war against the Khawarij. Hazrat Ali said: O people I heard the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w) saying, "From my Ummat would emerge a nation who will read Qur'an so much that your reading of Qur'an would have no value in camparison to theirs, neither will your prayers would be more valued than theirs, nor will your fasts have value before theirs. They (khawarij) will read Qur'an assuming that it is in their favour whereas in reality, it would be against them. Prayer would not descend down their throat and they will be rejected from Islam just like the arrow is rejected from the hunt".

********

Imam Ahmed Bin Humbal (ra), Abu Daud (ra) and Ibn Maja narrate from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) and Hazrat Anas Bin Malik (RA) that Prophet Muhammed (s.a.ww) stated that:
***Hadith***

Meaning: Soon disunity and division would be created among my Ummat. Right at that time, a group of people will emerge who sound commendable in their talks but would be contradictory in their deeds. They would be the worst creatures among the entire mankind. Glad tidings to those who will prosecute them and to those also who will be martyred at the hands of Khawarij. The Khawarij will call towards the Book of Allah but they will be void of it completely. The prosecuter of the Khawarij would be closer to Allah than the Khawarij himself. The Campanions of the Prophet (s.a.ww) inquired politely, "Ya Rasool Allah (s.a.w.w), what would be their indictation?" He (s.a.w.w) answered, "shaving the head".
********

Hazrat Abu Imama (RA) narrated that Prophet Muhammed (sa.w.w) is reported to have said:

***Hadith***

Meaning: "Khawarij are the Dogs of  hell, are the dogs of  hell, are the dogs of hell" He repeated it 3 times. Then he (s.a.w.w) kept on saying, " They (Khawarij) would be the worst victims to be prosecuted under the sky (on Earth) and the best victims would be the ones, prosecuted by these Khawarij".

********

Imam Ahmed Bin Humbal (ra) and Imam Hakim narrate from Hazrat Abdullah Bin Omro Bin Al-Aas that they have heard the Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.w) saying:

***Hadith***

Meaning: From my Ummah will emerge a group of people from the East who will read Qur'an but it will not descend down their throats and as soon as the Satanic squadron will arise from within them,  it would be met with a great annihilating end (in form of a military operation). The Satanic Squadron from within them would be abrogated by state Institutions. In the same way the Prophet (s.a.w.w) repeated more than 10 times and uttered: Whenever a Satanic group emerges from within them, it would be beheaded and prosecuted to a point that Dajjal will arise from them.

********

***Hadith***
Meaning: They would use extremism and force in their dileverance and salvation.

********

Hazat Ali (RA) narrated that:
***Hadith***

Meaning: Thus wherever you find them, prosecute them! For their prosecuter will be awarded abundantly on the day of judgement.

********
Further signs of the Fitna (catastrophe) are summed up in Sahih Bukhari which are narrated by Abu Saeed khudri (RA) in form of an incident:
Meaning: Hazrat Ali (RA) sent a small quantity  of Gold to Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.w). The Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.w) distributed it among Iqra Bin Habis, Aiynia Bin Badar Fazari, Alqama Bin Alasa Alamri and Zaid Al Khail Al-tai. On this, the Quraish and Ansar got upset saying that Prophet (s.a.w.w) gives to the wealthy people of Najad but leaves us in negligence. On hearing their complaint, the Prophet (s.a.w.w) satisfied them politely telling them that there's a reason behind pleasing those people. Thereupon, a depraved man with squeezed eyes, overhung forehead, densely grown beard, swollen cheeks and deformed head disgustingly uttered, "Oh Muhammed! Fear your God". The blessed Prophet (s.a.w.w) of Allah (swt) responded humbly, "If I also start disobeying him, who will observe His obedience? He has made me His apostle on this Earth yet you do not trust in me". Consequently the ferocious lovers of the Prophet Muhammed (s.a.w.w) got enraged and seeked permission from  the Prophet (s.a.w.w) to kill that agnostic. The Prophet (s.a.w.w) refused. When that depraved man was about to leave, the Prophet (s.a.w.w) adressed:

Meaning: From the ancestry of this person, would be born such people who will read Qur'an but it would not descend down their throats, They would be expelled from Islam just like an arrow is expelled from its prey. They will tag the Muslims as "Infidel" and slaughter them, they will spare the Non-Muslims. If I would meet their era, I would destroy them like the nation of Gog and Magog.

This incident indicates that khawarij are the descendants of that blasphemous agnostic.

********

The signs and symptoms interpreted from the blessed Ahadith Shareef of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w) proof that the armed insurgent group which declares the Ummat-e-Muslima as misguided, astray, apostates or infidels; which perceives the blood and property of other Muslim authorized to killing and looting; which blatantly refuses from the righteous talks; which sabotages the peaceful environment -- is exclusively "Khawarji". Nevertheless of its exsistence at a particular place, or irrespective of time. Today the mass genocide and terrorism propagated in Pakistani Tribal Areas is being done by the same animalized group. They will keep emerging in every era. Their decisive remedy is only sword. Blessed would be the Army to destroy this evil. At present, this evil has risen in the form of "Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan" (TTP).

The apparent hardcore Islamic insurgents which are waging a sectarian war in Syria and many other Muslim Countries are not actually "Islamists" or "Jihadists" but a fraud gang of funded and hired mercenaries who are thoroughly brain washed and convinced to behead and massacre innocent Muslims whether they be little children, women or elderly people for their difference in School of thought or Religious practices. This brainwashed gang of terrorists is actually known as "khawarij" by virtue of the Ideology they believe in. Please don't confuse the "Khawarij" with other Muslim sects or Resistance groups. Note that these Khawarij do NOT kill Non-Muslims or the enemies of Islam but only behead "Muslims", greatly highlighting their origin of "Kharjiites". Eminently TTP (Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan), Swat Taliban, Alqaeda (Al-CIA-da), Jundullah, Hizbullah, Hizb-ul-Tahrir and some more are from the same category.

Arms for Syrian rebels go mostly to "Khawarij"

Print Friendly and PDF

Most of the arms funneled to Syrian rebels reportedly end up in the hands of hardline Islamist extremists which are in actuality "Khawarij", including those affiliated with Al-Qaeda. There is no way of vetting rebel groups to bolster only those with more secular views. The Syrian armed opposition is supplied with small arms from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, while their other foreign allies like the US provide logistical help for the transactions. However according to classified US assessments of the conflict, most of the weapons go to Khawarij rather than to secular-minded groups, which the West wants to take power in the country, reports The New York Times.

“The opposition groups that are receiving the most of the lethal aid are exactly the ones we don’t want to have it,” an American official familiar with the outlines of those findings told the newspaper. The reports suggest that the more plentiful shipments orchestrated by Qatar are particularly likely to go to hardline Khawarij. The situation may be favorable for short-term goals of toppling the government of Bashar al-Assad, but if and when this happens, the better-armed extremist groups are likely to fill in the power vacuum, American officials worry. This may mean an Islamist Syria hostile to the US in the future.

Some unconfirmed reports indicate that Khawarij fighters are actually caching weapons for the post-Assad struggle for control over the country rather than use it against governmental troops now. The US is frustrated there is no central clearinghouse for the arms shipments and no effective way of vetting the groups that ultimately receive the weapons. CIA head David Petraeus secretly visited Turkey last month, reportedly in an effort to steer up the supply through its territory, the NYT says.

But the agency is said to be hampered by a scarcity of intelligence on many Syrian rebel figures and factions, the newspaper says. The Syrian opposition is notoriously splintered in nature, lacking common military leadership or strategic planning for the period after the war, and plagued by infighting.
The complexity of the situation cuts the other way too, as the middlemen in Lebanon and Turkey, who funnel Saudi and Qatari weapons to the Syrian rebels, often cannot profile their customers too. Many rebels have grown the long, shaggy beards favored by hardline Salafi Muslims who staunchly believe in the Khawrji Ideology, after hearing that Qatar was more inclined to give weapons to Islamists, the NYT reports.

The situation may have ramifications for the upcoming presidential election in the US. The Obama administration has been keeping the Syrian rebels at arm’s length, avoiding either sending arms to them directly or approving supply of heavy weapons. The reason was precisely the lack of confidence that those would not end up in the wrong hands.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney last Monday indicated that he would have the rebels provided with antiaircraft and antitank weapons, although he didn’t say whether he would want America to supply them. It’s not clear if he has a plan on how not to allow Al-CIA-da fighters to get those weapons. America has a recent history of fostering forces which later turn against it. The Taliban movement, which is waging an 11-year insurgency against US troops and their allies in Afghanistan and Pakistan, was initially armed and trained with Washington’s help to fight against the Soviet occupation in the 1980s.
