China to ditch Top US Consulting Firms over "Espionage", "High Level Hooliganism"

State-owned Chinese companies will cease to work with US consulting companies like McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group over fears they are spying on behalf of the US government.

US consulting companies McKinsey, BCG, Bain & Company, and Strategy&, formerly Booz & Co., will all be snubbed by state-owned Chinese companies, the Financial Times reported, citing sources close to senior Chinese leaders.

“The top leadership has proposed setting up a team of Chinese domestic consultants who are particularly focused on information systems in order to seize back this power from the foreign companies,” a senior policy adviser to the Chinese leadership was quoted by the FT as saying.

“Right now the foreigners use their consulting companies to find out everything they want about our state companies,” the adviser said.

McKinsey is the largest global consulting group operating in China, and about one-third of clients are state-owned enterprises. McKinsey has 650 employees in China.

Last Thursday China announced that all foreign companies would have to undergo a new security test. Any company, product or service that fails will be banned from China. The inspection will be conducted across all sectors - communications, finance, and energy.

China has already banned Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system from government computers, according to Chinese state media agency Xinhua.

“Under President Xi Jinping, technology and implementation will look to be converging, so foreign tech firms should be very worried about their prospects,” Bill Bishop, an independent consultant based in Beijing, told the FT.
Chinese officials have said that government ministries, companies, universities, and telecoms networks are victims of US hacking, and will try to avoid using US technology in order to protect “public interest”.

The dictate follows the US Justice Department’s indictment of five Chinese military officers it suspects of committing cyber crimes against a number of major US companies, including US Steel, Westinghouse and Alcoa. The US accused the army officers of stealing trade secrets and even published their photos.

Beijing responded by calling the US a ‘robber playing cop’, and more recently said the US is a “mincing rascal” and involved in “high-level hooliganism”.

The US-China fallout came after revelations made by NSA contractor Edward Snowden that the US uses economic cyber espionage to spy on international competitors, including China.

The dispute is only the latest setback in relations between the world’s two largest economies. Issues like Ukraine, Syria, and North Korea have been divisive topics between the two superpowers.

Military Coup in US? Obama sacks 2 more USAF Colonels amid Global Economic Storm

Two days ago (17 March) two US Air Force officers, Colonel Charles Hamilton and Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Olson, were ordered by President Obama to be immediately relieved of their duties over what the Pentagon described as “a loss of confidence in their abilities.”

Colonel’s Hamilton and Olson now join the list of nearly 200 top US military officers purged by Obama, but whose dismissals have sent “shockwaves” throughout the world’s intelligence communities as along with their fellow dismissed officers are “strongly believed” to be a part of what is called the “Snowden Coup Plotters” attempting to prevent World War III from occurring.

What is vitally important to understand about why both Colonel’s Hamilton and Olson were purged is that they were in charge of the incredibly vast and secretive US-NSA military global spying nexus located at the Royal Air Force Croughton base in Northamptonshire, England.

Colonel Hamilton as the commander of the US Forces 501st Combat Support Wings 422nd Air Base Group at RAF Croughton, and Colonel Olson who commanded the 422nd Communications Squadron, along with other critical duties, had operational oversight of The US Naval Space Command, which is the operational arm of the Space and Electronic Warfare Directorate within the Navy staff, and directs in near totality the United States gigantic global war machine.

Five days prior to Colonel’s Hamilton and Olson being purged, on 12 March, 28-year old Kenneth Bellando, a former JPMorgan banker, current employee of Levy Capital, and the brother of a top chief investment officer of JPMorgan, jumped to his death from the 6th floor of his New York City apartment building joining a string of suicides rocking the financial world.

On the exact day, 17 March, that Colonel’s Hamilton and Olson were purged, the highly influential Market Watch News Letter, owned by Dow Jones & Company, warned that a new poll of all of the top Western banking, financial leaders and experts are now warning that there is a 99.9% risk of a 2014 global market crash (Black-Swan Crisis) expected from now through mid-April.

Yesterday, 18 March, the day after Colonel’s Hamilton and Olson were purged, the US Treasury shockingly released a report showing that Belgium now holds over $310 billion in US Treasuries (US debt) it has purchased since last year, but which is impossible as this small EU nation has a GDP of just over €100 billion.

To understand how all of these events, the current Ukraine crisis, and the missing Malaysian jetliner, are all linked together (and they REALLY are) you should have a PhD…like retired US Army Infantry officer Jim Lacey (his Ph.D. came from Leeds University in Great Britain) who in his 2011 book, Keep from All Thoughtful Men: How U.S. Economists Won World War II (Naval Institute Press), shows the awful truth about this horrific conflict that killed over 60 million people, which was over 2.5% of the world population.

Also important to understand (and as the Sorcha Faal has so critically detailed in her lectures) are how these events relate to the Fourth Turning that is now upon us all.

The core elements of this current Fourth Turning continuing to propel these linked-events and current crisis, as the Sorcha Faal explains, are debt, civic decay, and global disorder.

Central bankers, politicians, and government bureaucrats have been able to fashion the illusion of recovery and return to normalcy, but their “solutions” are nothing more than smoke and mirrors exacerbating the next bloodier violent stage of this current Fourth Turning. Unrest, violent protests, and brutal measures by rulers continue in Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, Venezuela, Bahrain, Brazil, and throughout Africa.
American predator drones roam the skies of the world murdering suspected terrorists, even American citizens.

The European Union is insolvent, with Greece, Spain, Italy and Portugal propped up with newly created debt.

Austerity for the people and prosperity for the bankers is creating tremendous distress and tension across the continent.

A global volcanic eruption is in the offing.

Now the outcome of this Fourth Turning, the Sorcha Faal reminds us all, is dependent upon the actions of a minority of critical thinking Westerners, especially Americans, who decide to act.

America is Collapsing: 0.8 Million "Shock Troops" deployed across Major US cities

A highly concerning urgent action report issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) is warning that “American internal stability” has now entered into a “more dangerous and critical phase” after Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) intelligence assests began reporting the large-scale deployment of what are called Obama regime's “shock troops” throughout the United States this past week.

The “shock troops” currently being deployed by the Obama regime, this report explains, number nearly 800,000 and were “activated” this past month under Section 5210 of the controversial US law titled the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) [aka Obamacare] titled “Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps” and stating that this force must be ready for “involuntary calls to active duty during national emergencies and public health crises.”

Though virtually unknown to the American people, this report continues, the Obama regimes Ready Reserve Corp (RRC) is the militarized arm of United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps which is one of the seven uniformed services of the United States that includes the United States Army, United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, United States Air Force, United States Coast Guard and the National Oceanic and the Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps.

Further to note, this report says, are that these “shock troops” being unleashed upon the American people were foretold of when then presidential candidate Obama, in 2008, stated: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

True to his word, GRU intelligence analysts contributing to this report say, Obama has over the past five years created one of the most powerful and secretive private armies in the world today, and has done so while at the same time depleting the US military, including the elimination of 13 US Army combat brigades and US Marine force reductions that shreds their strength by nearly 13,000 troops recommended by senior Marine analysts to maintain their readiness.

As to how the Obama regime has armed these “shock troops,” this report explains, has been accomplished by RRC elements embedded within nearly every branch of the US government who over the past few years have purchased billions of rounds of ammunition, including the National Oceanic and the Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Officer Corps which purchased 56,000 rounds of .40 caliber 180 grain jacketed hollow points and 16,000 rounds of .40 caliber frangible lead free rounds, and their subordinate agency, the National Weather Service, which ordered another 16,000 rounds of .40 S&W jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets.

Other RRC “shock troop” elements loyal to the Obama regime to have massively armed themselves, this report continues, include the US Department of Education whose arm purchases include $80,000 on Glock pistols and over $17,000 on Remington shotguns, and the US Postal Service that is currently seeking companies that can provide “assorted small arms ammunition” in the near future, and which is a stunning move the US Postal Service has never done in its entire history.

As millions of Americans are now teetering on the edge of financial ruin, this report warns, and the countdown to the nationalization of their retirement savings has begun, these Obama loyal “shock troops” will, undoubtedly, be utilized to maintain order as the United States faces outright collapse, if not large scale civil war.

What remains unknown, this report says, is whether or not these “shock troops” will be used to round up and imprison those disloyal to Obama, but which US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia eerily warned law students at the University of Hawaii this past week: “You are kidding yourself if you think World War II-style internment camps will never happen again.”

To how soon Obama will unleash his “shock troops” upon the American people, this report concludes, appears to be “much sooner than later” in light of the US markets nearing a crash, the sudden collapse of Germany’s stock market this morning and the massive deadly fire that destroyed all of Argentina’s Central Banks records in what was supposed to be one of the most secure facilities of its kind ever built. 

In short, all of these events point, at the very least, to the very likely conclusion that the American people will, indeed, pay for their ignoring the police state the Obama regime has created around them, and which all to soon they will be made to pay with their freedom, if not their very lives for doing so.

Russia Leaks Top US Official's Phone Call, Engineering Overthrow of Ukrainian Govt

A new Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) report circulating in the Kremlin today says that the Obama regime is in “total shock and turmoil” today after the YouTube leaking by the Federal Security Service (FSB) of a highly encrypted telephone conversation between the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and the American Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, wherein this top US State Department official was discovered engineering the overthrow of the Ukrainian government and shaming her European counterparts by saying “Fuck the EU.”

The “YouTube leaking” referred to in this report involves a video posted yesterday titled “Marionettes of the Maidan” [see video below] that became known to the world after a tweet from Dmitry Loskutov, an aide to the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Rogozin, that said: “Sort of controversial judgment from assistant secretary of state Victoria Nuland speaking about the EU.”

After hearing this conversation, this report continues, German chancellor, Angela Merkel, erupted in anger calling Nuland’s remarks “totally unacceptable,” and which Nuland subsequently apologized for making.

Following her apology, the Guardian reports, Nuland refused to be drawn further into the row and stated, “I will not comment on a private diplomatic conversation.” But she implied she had been a victim of a sophisticated eavesdropping operation carried out by Russia's spy agencies as the embarrassing tape surfaced with Russian subtitles. “It was pretty impressive tradecraft. [The] audio quality was very good,” Nuland said earlier today.

Most ironic about Nuland’s statement of “pretty impressive tradecraft” being used to capture her highly encrypted conversation, this report says, was that it was actually the United States own National Security Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) which provided this information to the FSB.

In what this MoFA report calls a “masterpiece” of reverse-engineering, Russian technological experts with the FSB have been able to “surreptitiously link” to every form of communication emanating from the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS).

JWICS is a system of interconnected computer networks primarily used by the United States Department of Defense, United States Department of State, United States Department of Homeland Security and the United States Department of Justice to transmit classified information by packet switching over TCP/IP in a secure environment and is administered by the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The “roadmap,” so to speak, for allowing the FSB access to JWICS, this report continues, was provided by the over 24 million documents provided by “the most wanted man in world,” Edward Snowden, described as an “intelligence treasure trove,” and which US Senator Susan Collins, a Republican from Maine, said if stacked “would be three miles high.”

American news reports confirming this report state that Snowden fabricated the digital keys—essentially assuming the identity—of multiple senior intelligence officials to gain access to classified intelligence systems well outside of the NSA-CSS like the US military’s top secret JWICS, and which US House Representative Mac Thornberry, a Texas Republican, warned this week “would cost billions to repair.”

What is not stated in this report, but should most assuredly be assumed, is that the FSB in gaining access to Nuland’s highly secretive and encrypted conversations has, in turn, captured everything that has flowed out from JWICS, including the conversations of all top Obama regime officials.

And in what can only be described as “farce meeting irony,” Obama’s White House, though not directly blaming Russia for the catastrophic leak of Nuland’s conversation, is nevertheless “crying foul”…and this coming from a government that by all measures and accounts has become one of the largest spying nations in the entire history of the world.

Economic Collapse: Super Bowl 9/11 “Warning” Sends Shockwave Across the Globe

An ominous entry placed into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) report prepared by top disarmament official Mikhail Ulyanov and circulating in the Kremlin today claims that the “staged” warning given to the world yesterday by Edward Snowden protégé and defender Matthew Mills [photo top left with US newsman Tom Brokaw] during a press conference following the most watched television event in America, called the Super Bowl, is most likely a “precursor” for a “false flag” type event due to occur within the month engineered by the Obama regime. 

The crux of Minister Ulyanov’s report, it should be noted, was a warning that Russia may soon be forced to withdraw from the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) signed between the United States and the former Soviet Union (but which still remains in force) due to the Obama regimes deployment of the ballistic missile defense destroyer USS Donald Cook into Spanish waters in clear violation of this treaties provisions.

A further violation of START by the Obama regime, this report says, involves the massive US military operation called Sentry Savannah 2014 involving hundreds of fighter aircraft operating this month within the “protected zone” of Washington D.C. as a concentration of these forces have raised concerns that the US is fearing a large scale attack/retaliation of some type to occur. 

In the midst of Russia’s growing concerns about the increasingly belligerent Obama regime towards international treaties, this report continues, the “staged event” that occurred yesterday during a Super Bowl press conference cannot be overlooked due to its links to the US military factions supporting Snowden.

Of the “staged event” itself, this report says, Matthew Mills, 30, interrupted a post game press conference by taking the stage, grabbing the microphone and saying, “Investigate 9/11...9/11 was perpetrated by people within our own government.” [See video HERE]

Mills, this report continues, is associated with the dissident American independent press organization WeAreChange.org whose leader, Luke Rudkowski, has long been a target of the Obama regime for his support of Snowden, most especially his ground breaking interview [See video HERE] with Lavabit founder Ladar Levison exposing how Snowden’s encrypted email system was illegally shut down by the US government.

As to how Mills was able to gain access to the most secured sports event in American history to give his 9/11 warning to the 47.6 percent of US homes who watched the Super Bowl, this report says, was detailed by a local news report which stated:

“[Mills] saw an employee bus at Secaucus Junction and hopped aboard.
Around Mills' neck was an old credential from a festival he covered, a rectangular badge that, at quick glance, didn't look too dissimilar from the ones issued to media members, team employees and others who worked the Super Bowl.
He also used a common refrain whenever hassled by security, which is supposed to verify each credential or ticket with a barcode along with putting attendees through other security screenings.
“I just said I was running late for work and I had to get in there,” Mills said. “It was that simple.”
Mills said he got through multiple layers of security using that bogus story.
“I didn't think that I'd get that far,” Mill said. “I just kept getting closer and closer. Once I got past the final gate and into the stadium, I was dumbfounded.”

Russian intelligence officials, however, in this report dispute this account as “preposterous” based upon their knowledge of security screening protocols used by US federal policing authorities and further note that a security lapse of this magnitude could not have been perpetrated without “inside help.”

As to the exact purpose/reason behind this 9/11 “warning” this report concludes, it cannot be overlooked that its timing coincides with the suiciding this past week of the three top bankers investigating the manipulation of the gold and silver markets by US banking giant JPMorgan whose vaults now hold less than $1 billon worth of gold bullion against the $64 billion they have to pay out by 15 February.

Critical to note, and as we had reported on in our report “15 February “Catastrophe”Warned Will Shake Entire World,” the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Ministry of Defense had previously warned that the assassinations of these three top Western bankers was being engineered by the Obama regime in order to establish some type of “new world economic order” prior to the coming global meltdown of markets and massive bank failures, some of which have already begun.

Also, and as the GRU exhaustively noted, with the proof that the 11 September 2001 attacks upon the US were designed, in part, to prevent the total collapse of Western banking system, with the warning signs of a global economic meltdown increasing by the day, and with the Obama regimes increasing reliance on dictatorial rule, this report concludes by stating that this “9/11 warning” should, indeed, send shockwaves across the entire world.

Global Economic Collapse: 15th February "Catastrophe" will shake the Entire World

A grim report circulating in the Kremlin prepared the by Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Ministry of Defense is warning that the assassinations this past week of three top Western bankers coincide with Snowden Documents detailing a 15 February 2014 “catastrophe” being engineered by the Obama regime in order to establish some type of “new world economic order” prior to the coming global meltdown of markets and massive bank failures, some of which have already begun.

Edward Snowden is a computer specialist and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent who with his yet unidentified US military backers obtained nearly two million highly classified top-secret documents from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) run National Security Agency-Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) and was granted temporary asylum in Russia in 2013 after his designation by the Obama regime as the “most wanted man on earth.”

The three Western bankers targeted for elimination by Obama regime “black team hit squads,” this report says, were Deutsche Bank executive Bill Broeksmit, 58, found dead at his home in Chelsea, south west London, on 26 January, JPMorgan Chase & Company vice president in technology operations Gabriel Magee, 39, who died after falling from his London headquarters on 28 January, and chief economist at Russell Investments, and former US Federal Reserve economist, Mike Dueker, 50, found dead at the side of a highway that leads to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington State on 31 January.

The “common link” between these bankers, this GRU report continues, began this past year after two JP Morgan whistleblowers confessed that their bank manipulates the gold and silver markets, which led to this past weeks stunning announcement that Europe's largest bank, Deutsche Bank, would withdraw from the appropriately named gold and silver price “fixing”, as European regulators investigate the manipulation of precious metals prices by Western banks.

Deutsche Bank executive Broeksmit, called among the “finest minds” in his field, and Russell Investments Dueker, ranked among the top 5 percent of economists by number of works published, this report says, were at the forefront of the European investigation into JPMorgan gold and silver price manipulation and had as their “inside man” JPMorgan tech guru Magee who oversaw his banks computer systems built for this crime.

Critical to note, GRU economic analysts say in this report, is that if the price of gold and silver were to achieve their “honest” level, JPMorgan would collapse as it does not have the reserves needed to equal the “paper” gold it has already sold, and a JPMorgan collapse would then, in turn, implode the entire global economic system.

Even worse, this report continues, JPMorgan crimes have now reached into the motherland itself after the Russian Central Bank (RCB) yesterday was forced to shut down Moscow-based lenders My Bank and Priroda Bank after they were unable to retrieve their foreign deposits from the British multinational banking and financial services company HSBC due to their imposing restrictions on large cash withdrawals on 24 January.

As the United States just reported its worst January stock market in 24 years, this report continues, the Obama regimes “master plan” of purposefully creating global financial chaos  in order to destabilize enemy countries and create a flight into the US dollar is now failing and has led to the highly influential trends forecaster Gerald Celente to warn people this week that they need to “brace themselves for a disastrous global collapse and riots that will engulf the entire world.”
 
Not just Celente is issuing warnings either, this report says, but so has too the famous US economist and former Harvard economics professor Terry Burnham who during an interview this past week on PBS NewsHour stated that he was removing his $1 million of life savings from Bank of America because American banks are no longer safe.

This GRU further notes that despite the 6.5% US stock market rally over the last three months, a handful of billionaires are quietly dumping their American stocks . . . and fast.

Most ominous to note in this GRU report are Russian intelligence analysts noting that Snowden’s documents refer to a 15 February “catastrophe” due to occur based upon the US nearing a Black Eagle Trust Fund type “event horizon.”

Though virtually unknown to the American, within two hours of the 11 September 2001 attacks, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) declared a national emergency, and for the first time in US history, invoked its emergency powers under Securities Exchange Act Section 12(k) easing regulatory restrictions for clearing and settling security trades for the next 15 days.

These changes would allow an estimated $240 billion in covert US government securities to be cleared upon maturity without the standard regulatory controls around identification of ownership due to the quickly unfolding Black Eagle Trust Fund plot that would have most certainly destroyed the entire global economic system.

Even more ominous, and, again, virtually unknown to the American people, is that the war the US has been waging for over a decade was, in fact, declared on 10 September 2001 when then Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, testifying before the US Congress [watch video HERE], stated that he had declared war on the Pentagon itself over his discovery of over $2.3 trillion missing from their accounts and warning it was a “matter of life and death.”

To if the Obama regime would resort to a 9/11 type false flag attack once again to protect the Western banking system, this report gravely warns, cannot be ruled out as evidence has long proven what German central bank president Ernst Welteke called “terrorism insider trading” relating to this horrific event.

Specifically, the Chicago Board Options Exchange reported to the SEC that four days before the attack an extremely unbalanced number of trades betting United’s stock price would fall were being placed, followed one day before the attack by the US stock options market authorities reporting to the SEC that an equally extraordinary number of trades were betting that American Airlines stock price would fall too.  As to who made these trades, and made tens-of-millions of dollars from them, the world will never know as the Obama regimes SEC admitted in 2010 that they had destroyed all the documents relating to them.

This GRU report further notes that with the New York City headquarters of the SEC destroyed on 9/11 after the mysterious implosion of World Trade Center Building 7, and the equally devastating cruise missile attack on the Pentagon that destroyed its computing accounting system burying forever the information on where the missing $2.3 trillion went, this new “catastrophic event” being planned by the Obama regime within a fortnight of 15 February can be expected to be as worse, and will, most assuredly, “shake the entire world.”

Russian Warship Detected off British Coast, Bankrupt UK Failed to Respond

A Russian warship was detected off the coast of Scotland the night of December 23, reveals the Daily Mail.
And this is not the first time:

This is the second such incident in two years. In December 2011, the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, anti-submarine ship Admiral Chabanenko and escort ship Yaroslav Mudry sailed close to Scotland before being challenged by the Royal Navy.

The Russians claim that the ship was seeking shelter from bad weather:
The Russian military news agency Interfax-AVN reported at the time that the fleet was on route to Syria and took shelter in the Moray Firth when faced with deteriorating weather conditions. ­However, some ­commentators ­believe that the country is ­testing Britain’s response times to such an incursion.

Deadly Blasts in Crippled Fukushima Reactor: 89 Tons Radioactive Fuel to hit US in 2 days

Radioactive steam emanates from Fukushima nuclear reactor

The Voice of Russia reports:

Unexplained plumes of radioactive steam have been rising from Fukushima’s Reactor Building 3. TEPCO has confirmed the reports, adding that they were not clear on the details of the sudden change at the reactor because of “lethal radiation levels in that building.” Meanwhile some experts think that “the situation could escalate rapidly out of control.”

The explosion occurred earlier in December and was revealed December 28th:

TEPCO has admitted that “they do not know why this steam is being generated, but matter-of-factly revealed today (December 28) the steam was first spotted on December 19 for a short period of time, then again on December 24 and again on December 25.”

Moreover, it appears this radioactive material could hit the US in a matter of days:

TRN is warning of preparatory measures that should be taken by those living on the West Coast of America because after the “releasing 89 tons of deadly radioactive fuel directly into the air”, it would be a matter of 2 to 3 days before the deadly material would fry North America “by [the] levels of airborne radiation and ‘hot particles’ which could kill.”

Meanwhile, the US Department of Health and Human Services has placed an order for “14 million 65 mg doses of Potassium Iodide, the standard treatment protocol for someone exposed to high levels of radiation”.

Yemen Parliament Bans Drone Attacks

SANAA: Yemen's parliament passed on Sunday a law banning drone strikes, Saba news agency said, days after one such attack reportedly hit a wedding motorcade and killed civilians.

“Lawmakers have voted to ban drone strikes in Yemen,” Saba reported after a parliamentary meeting. The US military operates all unmanned aircraft flying over Yemen in support of Sana's campaign against Al Qaeda, and has killed dozens of militants in an intensified campaign this year.

Saba said lawmakers Sunday stressed “the importance of protecting all citizens from any aggression” and “the importance of preserving the sovereignty of Yemeni air space.”

On Thursday a drone attack in Rada, in the central province of Bayda, killed 17 people, mostly civilians, in a wedding motorcade, triggering protests in the impoverished Arabian peninsula country.

The Supreme Security Committee, headed by President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi, issued a statement on Friday insisting that the strike had targeted a car belonging to a leader of Al Qaeda.

In the car “were top leaders who plotted several terrorist attacks against the armed forces, police, civilians and vital government installations,” it said.

The statement did not give a death toll for the strike, nor refer to any civilian casualties or acknowledge that the attack was launched by a US drone.

Security sources and witnesses said two missiles were fired, and that mostly civilians had died.

Amnesty International said confusion over who was behind the raid “exposes a serious lack of accountability for scores of civilian deaths in the country.”

Relatives of the dead blocked roads to protest the killings and demanded an official apology as well as compensation.

“If the government fails to stop American planes from... bombing the people of Yemen, then it has no rule over us,” tribal chief Ahmad al-Salmani told AFP on Saturday.

Demise of Dollar: Kentucky Town to Pay Police Chief in Bitcoin

City employees in Vicco, Kentucky could be receiving their paychecks in the form of bitcoin as early as this month after officials there agreed on Monday to begin compensating the chief of police with the emerging crypto-currency.

City officials said on Monday this week that there won’t be a problem with paying Vicco Police Chief Tony Vaughn electronically using bitcoin, an online-only digital form of currency that has in recent months been accepted at an increasing number of retailers around the world.

Bitcoin allows users to securely pay for goods and services with near total anonymity, all while avoiding the regulations and restrictions often imposed by state-controlled currencies, such as the dollar.

Cris Ritchie for Kentucky’s Hazard Herald reported on Wednesday that Vaughn made his request last month, and this week city officials said they finished their research and would be willing to pay the chief’s salary in bitcoin if that’s his preference.

"We done a checkup on it, and that's the way he wants paid, and that's the way the city is going to pay him," City Commissioner Claude Branson told the Herald. “Basically his next paycheck” could be in bitcoin, Mayor Johnny Cummings said to the paper. “They've set up the accounts for Vicco and for Tony, so it can be transferred.” "We just want to be on top of things, and up-and-coming and more progressive as a city," the mayor added.

All applicable federal and state taxes will still be chopped from the top of Vaughn’s salary each pay period, Cummings added, but the remainder will be electronically converted and put in the control of a city-run bitcoin account where funds will then be instantaneously transferred to Vicco’s own digital wallet.

"I'm excited about it; it's a first for Vicco again," Vaughn told Richie, referring to an ordinance passed by the city earlier this year that outlaws discrimination based on sexual orientation. Last month, the United States Senate approved of a similar bill that functions on a federal level — the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, or ENDA — but that act has yet to clear Congress.

But while the EDNA may eventually make its way to President Barack Obama’s desk and be signed into law, no measures whatsoever have been proposed in Congress just yet that would require the government to pay federal employees in bitcoin. Meanwhile, though, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke wrote to the Senate recently that virtual currencies, like bitcoin, "may hold long-term promise, particularly if the innovations promote a faster, more secure, and more efficient payment system."

One bitcoin is currently worth US$1,230, up from $240 just one month earlier. Earlier this year a Canadian man attempted to sell his Alberta home for bitcoin, and the University of Nicosia in Cyprus recently became the first institution of its type to accept the virtual currency for tuition.
