Oil Companies Scramble for Libyan Oil

Print Friendly and PDF

Many looking to restart deals made with Gadhafi on more favorable terms with the Western-supported rebels. Oil companies from the United States, Europe, and Asia are scrambling for a share in Libyan oil as the rebels’ Transitional National Council gradually works to take the place of the Gadhafi regime. Many of the companies are eager to restart business deals they had with Gadhafi on more beneficial terms with the rebels. British Petroleum (BP) of the United Kingdom, Total of France, and ENI of Italy had major projects in Libya before the rebellion against Gadhafi began six months ago.

ENI, which was producing 196,000 barrels per day before the war,was sending technicians to back Libya even before Gadhafi’s fortified compound in Tripoli was overrun by rebels this week, so it may be the first to resume production.BP is likely to push a $1 billion deep-water exploration program in the Gulf of Sidra, part of a $900 million deal signed with Gadhafi in May 2007.

Other companies, like Gazprom from Russia and Repsol from Spain, are also looking to restart oil drilling, production, and export out of Libya, which has at least 41.5 billion barrels in reserves, the ninth largest in the world. Some have made the case that Libya’s high potential value as an oil exporter influenced the US-NATO decision to intervene on behalf of the rebels.

China, Italy demand immediate ceasefire in Libya

Print Friendly and PDF

Chinese Flag (left) - Italian flag (right)
The Italian Foreign Minister has called for an immediate halt to hostilities in Libya to allow humanitarian aid to reach civilians. However NATO partner and the top Zionist puppet France has rejected it. It comes as reports emerge of more deaths from fighting in the western city of Misrata. Italy's Foreign Minister Franco Frattini on Wednesday broke ranks with NATO allies during a speech to parliament by calling for an immediate suspensions of hostilities. He said a pause in NATO's bombing campaign and the fighting between Colonel Gaddafi's forces and rebels trying to overthrow him could allow for civilian aid corridors. It comes after a difficult week for NATO, in which the Libyan government accused the alliance of killing dozens of civlians in two seperate attacks.

NATO terrorists acknowledged "accidently" hitting a civlian house in one of the attacks, but said the other was a legitimate target, as it was a command and control centre. Frattini also expressed concerns that NATO's mission, which is to protect civilians from attacks by Gaddafi's army, which in reality never took place, may extend beyond the next UN mandate deadline of September. His call for a suspension however has been rejected by Zionist puppets of France. The Zionist Stooge Foreign Ministry in Paris said the most important thing is to intensify pressure on the four-decade leader Gaddafi, who still controls the west of the country, including the capital Tripoli. In the one western city that the rebels control, Misrata, there have been reports of fresh fighting. 10 people have reportedly been killed in the city. Meanwhile, China on Wednesday recognized Libya's opposition National Transitional Council as "an important dialogue partner" as it hosted the NTC leader in Beijing.

On the other hand, China has urged the Western forces to prevent more civilian deaths in Libya. The statement came as Chinese permanent representative to the United Nations, Li Baodong, was speaking in a UN Security Council meeting. China Report has the latest. Li Baodong on Thursday urged all parties concerned to immediately observe a ceasefire in the North African country. He made the statement at the closed consultations of the UN Security Council on Libya, which kicked off on Thursday afternoon. Li said quote:
"The relevant Security Council resolution is aimed at the humanitarian protection, rather than creating more civilian casualties and a bigger humanitarian catastrophe."
China, together with other four Council members, abstained from voting on the draft resolution of imposing a no-fly zone over Libya on March 17. Two days later, the U.S.-led international coalition launched military strikes on Libya, which have so far reportedly left almost 100 civilians dead. The Chinese envoy called upon all parties concerned to cease fire immediately in order to avoid further worsening of the already intensified situation in the region. He also called for peaceful means such as dialogue and negotiations to solve the current Libyan crisis, as the affairs and future of Libya should be decided by Libyans themselves. Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his German counterpart Guido Westerwelle also talked on the phone Thursday over the situation in Libya. And the visiting Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun talked with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the Libyan situation the same day.

CIA-Rebels defeated in Musurata - Disinformation of Rebel advances on Tripoli blasted by witnesses

Print Friendly and PDF

The mainstream media is reporting that Tripoli is surrounded. Bernard-Henri Lévy, author and adviser to France’s president Nicolas Sarkozy has even declared that the regime in Tripoli has collapsed. This is fiction. NATO and its coalition have launched attacks to the west of Tripoli to surround the capital. They have only managed to temporarily disrupt the supply route from Tunisia to Tripoli. This is part of their strategy of imposing a siege on the Libyan capital. An estimated 100 to 200 rebel fighters have emerged near the south side of the Zawiyah (Zawiya) District, approximately 50 kilometres (31 miles) west of Tripoli. They claim to have taken over the city of Sorman (Surman). These claims are unsubstantiated.

What happened was that some of the insurgents merely passed through Sormon on the highway on their way to attacking Zawiyah. The Western media report that the insurgents control most of the city of Zawiyah. This claim is unsubstantiated. In reality, the insurgent forces merely raised the flag of King Idiris I in a remote area of the Zawiyah District and then quickly left that area and did some photo ops for foreign journalists to give the impression that they had a foothold in Zawiyah. The insurgent fighters only stayed in their location in Zawiyah for a few hours. The local population was hostile towards them and they were afraid to stay longer. Their main aim was to destroy the oil refinery in the area. NATO and its rebel proxies are attempting to cut supply routes into the Tripoli District by sabotaging transportation routes with Tunisia. In this context, the rebels have also attacked Ras Al-Jedir, which is located on the Tunisian-Libyan border.

The Libyan Military has entered Misurata
While the insurgency and NATO are on the offensive to the west of Tripoli, they have lost their hold on Misurata. On August 15, 2011, there were early morning celebrations throughout the country as news became public that the Libyan military had entered Misurata. In Tripoli gunfire could be heard across the city as people celebrated. Western mainstream media reporters in Tripoli were briefed. The relevant information was made available to them. There was news blackout. Not a word was mentioned in the Western press regarding the victory of Libyan armed forces in Misurata.

Libyan Rebel Chief Murdered - Humanitarian Scavengers Nearing Defeat

Print Friendly and PDF

The CIA backed Rebel Chief, traitor of Libya
Libyan rebels including Al-CIA-Da and thousands of CIA-backed mercenaries were mourning the killing of their pro-Zionist military leader amid an intensified conflict with troops loyal to Libya and Muammar Gaddafi. Abdel Fattah Younes, Gaddafi's former traitor security minister who defected to the opposition Transitional National Council (TNC) and became its military leader in February by accepting a handsome amount of bribe from humanitarian terrorists of NATO, USZ, France, UK and UN, was shot dead by assailants after being summoned back from the battlefield, opposition leader Moustafa Abdel-Jalil said. The death was announced as the CIA backed oil-thirsty rebel forces retreated after Libyan government forces fiercely repelled an attack causing the enemy fatal losses and casualties.

Meanwhile, the New World Order Mercenary Army of Libyan Rebels and TNC were recognized as Libya's legitimate representative by more slave countries of the New World Order, installing ambassadors in Paris and London on Thursday to formalize ties with its main allies in the fight to topple Libya's strong centralized Gold based Central Bank of Libya and seize its gold reserves followed by linking it to the IMF looting mafia under the charade of "toppling Gaddafi".

On the other hand, Gaddafi has vowed to defeat the enemies of Libyans at all costs and said that the war against international army of terrorist invaders and international natural resource robbers will continue unless and until the terrorist invaders have lost their offensive against the Libyan people. With more than 1 MILLION showing support for Gaddafi on 1st July gathering and Libyan forces fighting with unmatched bravery and sacrifice, it is just a matter of time before the CIA backed rebels get what they deserve along with their masters. The ultimate humiliation and defeat.

Gaddafi to continue battling NATO and Al-CIA-Da rebels - Zionist media lies smashed

Print Friendly and PDF

Deeply loved by the Libyans, Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi says he will continue fighting against the NATO and the CIA backed revolution, vowing to retake the lost areas from anti-Libya forces. "This war was imposed on us, and our only choice is to fight -- men, women and children -- with all our weapons to liberate (the rebel strongholds) of Benghazi, Misratah and Al-Jabal Al-Gharbi (the Nafusa mountains southwest of the capital)”, Gaddafi was quoted by AFP as saying on Tuesday. "We will march on the cities controlled by the traitors and mercenaries of NATO to retake them. NATO's bombs do not scare us", Gaddafi added. Gaddafi's speech was broadcast over loudspeakers to supporters in al-Aziziya, 50 kilometres (30 miles) west of the capital, Tripoli. The Libyan ruler said millions of people will fight with him to defend their honor as well as the country's oil resources and rightfully so, the Libyans showed their love on 1st July, 2011 when more than 1 million gathered in the capital to show their love for Gaddafi.

Earlier on Tuesday, Gaddafi troops carrying flags of the revolutionary forces shelled opposition positions near the oil-rich eastern town of Brega, killing eight fighters and injuring dozens more, said Mohammed Idris, a doctor at the hospital in the nearby city of Ajdabiya. The attack comes a day after the fake CIA-backed revolutionary claims that they had seized control of Brega which is the oil rich town of Libya. Sources from Libya revealed that Brega is completely under Gaddafi's control and the Zionist mainstream media is spreading disinformation in order to hurt the morale of Libyan troops and its people. Revolutionaries have made absolutely zero progress and due to financial meltdown, NATO's military campaign is also dying out gradually as the “humanitarian” hyenas are running out of funds.

NATO-Russia missile row intensifies

Print Friendly and PDF

Representatives from NATO's 28 member states and senior Russian officials discussed two important points during a one-day meeting in Sochi on July 14, 2011. First, the manner of deployment of an offensive system known as 'missile-defense system' and second the way to continue the NATO's war in Libya as Moscow has invariably rapped the alliance's bombing of Libya, calling it in violation of the UN Security Council resolution.

As expected, the talks failed to offer a solution to neither one of the matters. The Question is why? Russia and the USZ began a process to normalize their ties, which became known as the 'reset' of relations. The process meant to successfully address NATO's expansion towards the east, the deployment of the missile system -- which Moscow has called a threat to its sensitive areas -- and, recently, the alliance's attacks on Libya -- issues, over which the two sides have more difference.

NATO's Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen (L) and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
The Russia-NATO meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, in November 2010 created the hope that Moscow and NATO could cooperate to solve the issue over the missile system -- the most contentious of matters. However, USZ refusal to provide the security guarantees asked by Russia engendered the prospect of a new arms race between Moscow and the West.

Stalemate in missile shield talks

Remarks by Russian and NATO officials after the Sochi meeting clearly points to the widening of the rift over missile deployment with Moscow blaming the failure of the talks on Washington's unilateral approach and saying the missile project could destroy its joint security plans with NATO. Russia's NATO envoy Dmitry Rogozin has warned that if the country is not given a role in the missile project in Europe, a new round of arms race would start. In addition, Moscow could break off the START II agreement with the USZ on nuclear disarmament.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said after the meeting with NATO that, although, Moscow does not consider NATO a threat, the country should still protect itself. During the meeting, he regretted that the alliance did not approve of a joint Russia-NATO missile system, which includes joint launch pads. NATO's Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen made it clear in a press conference broadcast live on the internet that the alliance insists on separate missile systems. He reminded that the apparatuses had to be in contact but each owner can separately decide whether to fire missiles.

Russia needs more than just such a course of action.

Whenever the missile talks have ended up in a stalemate, Russia has threatened that, if the negotiations failed, it would set up its own missile system near the border with its neighbor Poland, which is also a NATO member. Accordingly, Russia's Space Forces Commander Oleg Ostapenko has said the country is set to bring into operation a missile-tracking radar system. The Sochi talks show that even Obama and Medvedev's political tango has not been able to bridge the rifts.

This is while, Moscow is still insistent upon cooperation and partnership with NATO. The crisis in Libya, however, makes it impossible for Russia to trust the alliance. Moscow complains about its lack of control over the missile apparatuses planned to be established in Europe and has for long been demanding guarantees for its security.

The USZ in its long-term plans has been seeking to use its 'surround and control' policy on Russia.

Therefore, it is trying to expand its influence towards Russia's western borders by enabling Georgia and Ukraine's NATO membership on the one hand. On the other, Washington is attempting to overpower Russia's ballistic might by creating a missile umbrella under the pretext of implementing the 'missile defense plan.' The special Representative of the Russian Federation for Interaction with NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, travelled to the USZ in mid July in hopes of finding a way out of the current deadlock through dialogue. If the talks fail, Russia plans to unveil its future missile defense program by the end of the year. The truth is that Russia and NATO differ over the nature of the proposed USZ missile program in Europe. Russia believes balanced participation in the program is more suitable while the USZ and NATO have only agreed to Russia's limited participation so far.

Furthermore, Russia is seeking guarantees that the forth phase of the missile program, which deals with anti-ballistic missile systems, will not be used against it. Russia is concerned that the missile system in Europe will undermine its nuclear capabilities, in which case it will look into upgrading its air and space capabilities while enhancing other offensive abilities, especially on its western border with Europe. Russia may also consider withdrawing from the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty known as Start II if the talks fail.

Who does the future of Libya belong to?

The negotiations between NATO and Russia over the situation in Libya failed to bear results as well. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the two sides were not able to come to an agreement over the implementation of the United Nations resolution.

Resolution 1973 paved the way for NATO to support rebels and launch an offensive against Gaddafi's forces. Russia had given a vote of abstention on the resolution at the United Nations. Over the past few months Moscow has been voicing its concern over NATO's extended offensive campaign and the severity of the attacks on Gaddafi. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and South African President Jacob Zuma were both present at the NATO-Russia talks held in the Black Sea resort town of Sochi.

Russia, given a number of its concerns over Libya, gave the abstention vote at the Security Council. As the fall of its number one ally in North Africa has become imminent in recent days, Russia is now concerned that the establishment of a pro-Western government in Libya will weaken its interests in the region. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia has maintained a strategic relationship at the highest political, economic, and defense level with Libya and Algeria in North Africa.

Conclusion

1. It is extremely unlikely that Russia will get sufficient guarantees from the USZ over the so called missile defense system. The guarantees Russia wants from the USZ and its allies mostly revolve around the location of the missiles as well as the strategic and technical characteristics of the missiles. The ideal cooperation between the sides would be to have an integrated defense system with each country responsible for the security of their own area; but the USZ insists that it is exclusion to such a plan. Russia's pressure on the USZ have not been taken seriously as the country's maneuvering ability has been hampered by recent financial hardships; and especially because Russia will be holding parliamentary elections in six month and presidential elections in nine.

2. Russia views the Middle East and North Africa as a strategic region in its political competition with the USZ. Therefore, the Russians have taken measured steps regarding the recent developments in Libya. The Russians know that Gaddafi's replacement will be a pro-Western one -exactly the opposite situation as in Egypt. This fact cannot secure Russia's interests in the region. In Egypt the fall of Mubarak was to Russia's advantage as Mubarak was Washington's strategic ally in the region. Despite the fact that it is not yet clear what the political orientation of the new government of Egypt will be; but the next government that comes to power in Egypt will certainly not be worse than Mubarak's for Russia.

Russia, Nato clash over Libya - Gaddafi vows to attack European “Humanitarian” Terrorists

Print Friendly and PDF

Russia and NATO on Monday failed to narrow their differences over the Western air campaign in Libya, as alliance warplanes stepped up their bombing of regime and civilian targets. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov slammed NATO for interpreting a UN resolution in any way it wished, after talks with NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen that showed up differences rather than any agreement on a solution. The previously scheduled NATO-Russia Council meeting in the Black Sea city of Sochi was joined at the last minute by South African President Jacob Zuma but his presence did not appear to help bring the sides any closer. "So far, there is no common understanding over how the resolution is being implemented", Lavrov said, referring to the UN Security Council resolution that paved the way for the air campaign. "We want this resolution to be fulfilled literally, without expanding its interpretation". Lavrov and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev earlier held talks with Rasmussen in Sochi in a bid to overcome their differences and find a peaceful solution to the Libya crisis.

Libyans show their love for their leader Moammar Gaddafi in the streets of Libya

They were also joined by Zuma who earlier had a bilateral meeting with Medvedev and like Russia is pushing for a peaceful solution to the conflict. Russia abstained in the resolution vote at the Security Council but has since expressed growing anger over the duration and intensity of the NATO-led air strikes against targets of Moamer Gaddafi's Libyan regime. "We consider the arms embargo (under the UN Security Council resolution) to be unambiguous", said Lavrov. "Any weapons deliveries are a violation of the resolution", he added.

Meanwhile, the Libyan government said on Monday that it was in talks with opposition figures but there seemed little chance of a swift end to the civil war as both sides stuck to entrenched positions on the fate of Muammar Gaddafi. On the other hand, more than 1 Million Libyans loyal to their leader Moammar Gaddafi took to the street on July 1, 2011 and vowed to defeat the oil and civilian blood thirsty scavengers of NATO, USZ, UK and France at any cost who are desperately trying to wipe out Libya's strong economic order stretching gradually towards Africa from the face of this planet to safeguard the Lucifer worshiping New World Order. The leader's son Saif al-Islam, in combative form, told a French newspaper there was no question of negotiating an end to his father's 42-year rule, while the handful of CIA backed rebels who make up less than 0.6% of Libya's entire population according to the latest polls held online, stepping back from a hint of a concession, renewed their demand that he go now.

"My father is not part of the negotiations", Saif al-Islam, the son of Moammar Gaddafi told Le Monde newspaper. By backing the rebels, NATO had picked the losing side, he added: "God is with us. We will fight and we will win. We have our army. We have more munitions, more weapons. Morale is high. The others are becoming weaker and weaker."

On the other hand, during his address on July 1, 2011 to more than 1 Million Libyan supporters live, Gaddafi vowed to take the battle to the European countries who are attacking civilian targets, hospitals and public places inside Libya if they don't immediately seize their operations. Gaddafi said he and his entire nation could attack European terrorists like "bees" if they don't back off at once.

Libyan majority loves Gaddafi - Press TV Iran reports

Print Friendly and PDF

Read on Pakistan Cyber Force Facebook Page

The mass pro-Gaddafi street demonstration of one million Libyans held in the capital Tripoli has gone unreported by Western media as has news of civilians killed for the past three months. Press TV talks with Lizzie Phelan, journalist and political activist in London who has been to Libya and says that Western media is complicit in war crimes in the North African country through omission of fact and that the vast majority of the population are in support of the Libyan government. Following is a transcript of the interview.

Libyans love Moammar Gaddafi

Press TV: NATO have issued an apology for a strike so about this publicized NATO strike that has killed civilians, they have blamed 'technical error'. The conclusion we can draw from that is if that happens it may happen again, which relates to the risk of more civilian casualties. Concerning this air campaign - Do you think it has actually gone too far when it is not saving lives?

Phelan: Yet again we are seeing what the USZ and Europe shamefully call collateral damage in the form of human lives like we have seen previously in Iraq and Afghanistan and in many other parts of the world.

This apology by NATO is an absolute joke. It's the first apology we've had from them in the three months despite the fact that civilians have been dying at the hands of NATO air strikes everyday in the past three months there have been thousands of strikes on the country so they made the apology yesterday on Sunday. But again at 2am in the morning there was another attack on the city of Sorman, 130km west of Tripoli where a further fifteen civilians were killed and a further three children were killed.

In previous weeks we have seen the bombing of al-Nasr university in Tripoli in the daytime where civilians were killed and so these are the military targets that we're seeing them bomb - we're seeing them bomb universities; we're seeing them bomb Friday market street in Tripoli where there is no military site in the area. Friday market street - I've been there - it begins with a GPO post office and ends with a primary school and they bombed four buildings and killed nine civilians including a toddler of four months old.

So, we are seeing what 'humanitarian intervention' and the 'protection of civilians' al-a-NATO means - it means the killing of children as we are seeing.

The real crime here is the crime of the media. Where has the media been? The media has picked up on this now because NATO has made their apology, but we've been seeing civilians dying every day for the past three months; we have a swarm of western journalists based in Tripoli...

Press TV: The NATO apology concerns it's responsibility for the deaths of 9 civilians and 18 injured in an early morning strike at an apartment building. In terms of what NATO is exercising it does put into question the goals of what NATO has on the ground... and this comes when there are CIA officers and covert operators as has been reported that are on the ground in touch with the revolutionaries.

Phelan: I wouldn't call anybody who is inviting NATO or the CIA or intelligence services into their country revolutionaries, they are in fact counter-revolutionaries.

The purpose is clear and that is to curb the Arab spring, but it goes back further than that since the revolution (military coup) of 1969-70, when Gaddafi kicked out the British and the Americans and closed their military bases and nationalized the oil. The West has had an agenda since then to get back into Libya and take complete control of the oil resources. Yes they've had a period of reproachment with Libya whereby they have been able to make some good deals with Libya, but they haven't had any where near the kind of control that they would like to have - like they have in Saudi Arabia or Qatar or the other Gulf states where these are effectively client regimes. So the agenda is clear to completely violate international law and assassinate Gaddafi against the will of the Libyan people without actually every asking them what the Libyan people want.

Press TV: Since you have visited Libya, what is the support that Muammar Gaddafi has and what is going on in terms of the tribal allegiance that exists there? Because as we understand there has been a split along traditional tribal lines - animosity has existed; and also based on some research done this has indeed been funded by the West.

Phelan: Exactly. Just on Friday there was a complete blackout in the media except for one CNN report about a march of one million Libyans in a country of six million people in Tripoli towards Green Square in support of the government and also in support of the people of Benghazi and Misrata who are being harassed and persecuted by what I call counter-revolutionaries, which is what others call rebels - in particular black Libyans who because of the really shameful story that al-Jazeera has pumped out about Gaddafi hiring African mercenaries, black Libyans in places like Misrata and Benghazi - I've met refugees from these areas who are victims of these atrocities - black Libyans being lynched publicly and the most unspeakable atrocities are being committed against them by pro-NATO counter revolutionaries.

In terms of the tribes in Libya - from my sources I have information that 90% of the tribes in Libya are supportive of the government including the largest tribe in Libya.

Of course, before the uprising there were frustrations In Libya as there are within every singly country, but the Libyan people are an extremely non-confrontational people that will go to the ends of the earth to resolve in a non-confrontational way.

And that is also reflected in the government in the way in which the government has tried over the decades and bent backwards to accommodate opposition forces within the government, which in a sense has backfired as we saw from the people who defected from the government and who sold out because they were in the pockets of the CIA andMI6 and the other Western intelligence services.

So, from my experience in Libya the support for the government is absolutely widespread. There was a Guardian journalist in Libya who thankfully was deported from Libya for reporting that the reason why there is no opposition in Tripoli is because there are informers everywhere. A million people marched through the streets of Tripoli so the people have spoken for themselves.

Press TV: When will a political solution be discussed? Is NATO going to be ready to face the fact that there has to be a political solution in Libya? Many officials in the USZ have talked about having a political solution in Afghanistan and have conceded that for any war this is the best way forward...So why is this (military bombing) continuing in Libya?

Phelan: I have no faith in NATO to ever have the humility to suggest that what is needed and what was needed from the outset is a political solution.

It's clear that NATO have no way at the moment to get out. They have gone into this war and they can't lose face now.

I want to quickly mention something that has not been or rarely gets mentioned and that is the sanctions imposed on Libya have led now to a crisis in the country whereby people have to queue for six days for food and fuel and we've seen the impact from that in Iraq; sanctions are one of the greatest killers, sometimes more so than outright military war; it killed millions of people in Iraq.

Coming back to your question, I would say that the UN has been acting as an extension of NATO and has done so in Libya.

Press TV: I have said that NATO is the armed wing of the UN in which the UN is used and then of course NATO comes in and of course we see how that gets exercised when it comes to various countries.

Phelan: I would say it the other way round that the UN is essentially a wing of NATO in the sense that it gives legitimacy to what NATO's agenda is. And I have no faith in either of these institutions to deliver any kind of political solution in the country. The UN has proved itself a failure since the war on terror began and even before then.

Turkish traitors cut ties with Gaddafi

Print Friendly and PDF

The Turkish traitors have severed their diplomatic ties with Muammar Gadhafi's Libyan government and recalled its ambassador, the Turkish Official Gazette reported over the weekend. The move came after Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu visited the eastern rebel stronghold of Benghazi on Sunday and pledged $200 million in aid to the CIA backed rebel Transitional National Council. The aid was in addition to a $100 million fund for Libyan rebels Turkey announced in June.

It was time for leader Muammar Gadhafi to leave Libya, the traitor Davutoglu said, declaring the CIA backed rebels National Council "a legitimate representative of the Libyan people." Turkey, which had close economic ties with Gadhafi before the CIA orchestrated rebellion against the speedily strengthening Libyan Economy broke out five months ago, has called on Gadhafi to step down and call a ceasefire in the past and says the two sides must reach a political solution. It is important to note at this point that Turkey has restarted talks with Israhell to mend ties and has already called off a previously planned Turkish led Freedom Flotilla ship to Gaza Strip.

Fall of NATO: Italy Breaks Ranks Demanding Ceasefire in Libya

Print Friendly and PDF

Read on Pakistan Cyber Force Facebook Page

Italy broke ranks with NATO yesterday and demanded an urgent halt to hostilities in Libya. Franco Frattini, the foreign minister in Rome, called for an ‘immediate suspension’ of military operations to allow humanitarian aid to be brought to the war torn country. He also said military leaders should provide more details about NATO bombing raids following mistakes which led to civilians being killed. His demand for a ceasefire echoed comments by Arab League Chairman Amr Moussa on Tuesday. However, British Prime Minister David Cameron played down calls to stop the mission and said it would eventually reach a ‘satisfactory conclusion’. NATO’s mission – to ensure that Muammar Gaddafi is out of power for good in order to ensure the Libyan independent economic policies come to an end and World Bank / IMF banking cartel can make its way into Libyan banking system besides ensuring a good supply of petroleum to Bahrain, one of the key puppets of USZ in the region. The UN backed international terrorism campaign began in March after Libyan leader launched a violent crackdown on CIA backed "revolutionaries" in an orchestrated uprising. But despite three months of military action and thousands of airstrikes against Libyan forces and killings of hundreds of innocent civilians in NATO's bombings, the widely loved Libyan Strongman remains in power.
Please read:
Concerns about the credibility of the mission increased after a NATO missile deliberately struck a residential area on last Sunday and killed 9 more innocent civilians including 2 young children. Speaking to the Italian parliament, Mr Frattini called for ‘an immediate humanitarian suspension of hostilities’ to allow aid corridors to be set up to relieve stricken citizens in areas around the besieged city of Misrata and Tripoli, the Libyan capital. He added: “With regard to Nato, it is fair to ask for increasingly detailed information on results as well as precise guidelines on the dramatic errors involving civilians. NATO’s military spokesman Wing Commander Mike Bracken said NATO’s credibility was not at stake but that of ‘the Gaddafi regime’s use of human shields [and] firing missiles from mosques”. In London, UK's terrorist number 1 Mr David Cameron insisted British forces could maintain the current level of operations in Libya despite concerns raised by senior military figures. Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope, the head of the Royal Navy, and Air Chief Marshal Sir Simon Bryant, the RAF’s second-in-command, have both warned that their services would struggle to fight beyond six months because of defence cuts.

On the other hand, Libyan Strogman Muammar Gaddafi has vowed to defeat the allies no matter what cost he or his nation has to pay. In a statement aired on Libyan national TV, Muammar Gaddafi vowed to take the battle to the enemy until the enemy is defeated on ground as well as in its despicable economic and petroleum aims in the region.

Gaddafi calls NATO a Cowardly Crusader

Print Friendly and PDF

Read on Pakistan Cyber Force Facebook Page

Libyan state television carried brief audio remarks it said were by leader Muammar Gaddafi on Friday in which he taunted NATO as a cowardly crusader and said he was in a place they could not reach. The comments came after Italy's foreign minister said Gaddafi had very likely left the Libyan capital and probably been wounded by NATO air strikes, an account Tripoli dismissed.

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi
"I tell the cowardly crusader (NATO) that I live in a place they cannot reach and where you cannot kill me", said Gaddafi. "Even if you kill the body you will not be able to kill the soul that lives in the hearts of millions", Gaddafi said, adding he received a "massive" number of calls following a NATO air strike on his Bab al-Aziziyah compound in Tripoli on Thursday.

Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said he heard the report on Gaddafi from the bishop of Tripoli, Giovanni Innocenzo Martinelli. "I tend to give credence to the comment of the bishop of Tripoli, Monsignor Martinelli, who has been in close contact over recent weeks, when he told us that Gaddafi is very probably outside Tripoli and is probably also wounded. We don't know where or how," Frattini told reporters in Italy. Ibrahim said Italy's remarks were cover for a "horrendous" NATO strike that hit a guesthouse in the eastern city of Brega on Friday that killed 11 people and wounded 45, five of whom were in critical condition. State television showed footage of at least nine bodies with multiple wounds, wrapped in blankets. A NATO official in Naples said they did not have any information on the report. "Once again NATO proves to the world that it has lost all human values and it is an alliance of barbarians," said Ibrahim.

Libya's link to USZ economic collapse

Print Friendly and PDF

What's NATO’s operation in Libya got to do with the previously impending shutdown of the USZ government which is still standing on shaky grounds? In short: a lot. And here's why. In Libya, fancy USZ weapon systems hammer the tanks and air-crafts of Muammar Gaddafi very successfully. Before that, the USZ war machine trampled the resistance put up by Iraq (twice), as well as by Afghanistan and Yugoslavia. In military terms there was no contest. It was clear from get-go that modern airplanes and missiles in the USZ/NATO arsenal would beat those antiquated air defenses roughly the way British machine guns mowed down tens of thousands of Sudanese Mahdist rebels roughly 100 years ago in the Battle of Atbara. Here's a caveat though. The USZ weapons used in all those wars were not exactly state-of-the-art. They surely were more modern than those of Saddam or, especially, the anti-aircraft guns of Mullah Omar. And, in a departure from the Atbara legacy where there was one machine gun per thousand attackers, this time the ratio is more like "one enemy – one gun."

F-22 Raptor
That raises a question. Why on Earth does the United States of Zionism need for instance the F-22 Raptor, the most modern plane in the world of those already mass produced and flying? On March 29, 2011 the USZ Government Accountability Office released figures indicating that, “Program acquisition unit costs for the F-22 Raptor have almost tripled, from $139 million to $412 million per airplane.” That the F-22 Raptor did not partake in the aerial campaign in Libya, despite expectations, would make sense – the “golden” machine is an air superiority fighter, not ground attack plane, it barely has that capability. The reported problems with the F-22's version of Multifunction Advanced Datalink – a network that allows NATO planes to communicate with each other- as well as reported technical glitches with this mega-expensive plane, are beyond the scope of this story.

The big question is why are they needed in principle – all 187 fifth-generation stealth air superiority fighters, designed to defeat any adversary in the skies? Initially designed to combat the Soviet planes in the 1980s (sic!), they stand as a shining example of why the United States of Zionism finds itself so much in debt. There are voices essentially saying that the F-22 program is nearly completed now that the USZ leads the rest of the world 187 to love in fifth generation fighters and you won't save nothing by wrapping it up now. Great. But there's another fifth generation fighter in the works – the F-35, currently estimated to cost around US$150M a piece. The United States of Zionism government expects to purchase some 2,400 F-35s from Lockheed Martin for an estimated USZ $323 billion. Wow. That simply makes it the Most-Expensive-Defense-Program- ever.

Overall according to the GAO 's assessment: "Since 2008, DOD's (USZ Department of Defense) portfolio of major defense acquisition programs has grown from 96 to 98 programs, and its investment in those programs has grown to $1.68 trillion!" That begs the fundamental question – to fight whom, exactly? If you look at defense spending in the rest of the world and assume that this is how you calculate who are potential enemies, it won't take you long to arrive to the conclusion that China, Russia and India are the only three countries among the top ten defense spenders not in a formal longstanding military alliance with the USZ. But their combined military expenditures are less than a third of those of the United States of Zionism. And the leaders of all three countries were given top flight receptions by globalist puppet President Obama in recent years, effectively marking them as America's friends.

They also happen to be big holders of the USZ national debt – effectively buying up the dollars that the USZ Treasury prints. And that brings us to the issue of debt and potential government shutdown. The budget of the United States of Zionism is fairly easy to read and understand. Roughly half of it goes to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid – in other parts of the world they are known as pensions and disabilities assistance. These are funded by separate laws and can't be changed at will. Another roughly quarter of the budget is military spending – and only the remaining quarter is everything else – from education to nature protection to science. Amazingly, when Obama speaks of his priorities in spending he lists "jobs, health care, clean energy, education, and infrastructure." Which bit of that plan includes spending on F-22s and F-35s? And why in that "guns versus butter" question, do guns in the USZ always, always seem to win. Make that "very expensive and unnecessary" guns.

Libya: All About Oil, or All About Banking? The untold story

Print Friendly and PDF

Note: As Ellen Brown writes in the following article, the war against Libya is not about Gaddafi’s treatment of protesters – it is about banking. Gaddafi refuses to play by the rules banksters impose on most of the rest of the world. Obama’s illegal war is also a continuation of the PNAC era plan to destroy Arab culture and force Muslims back into the stone age. Like Iraq before Bush Senior’s illegal invasion, Libya has an excellent health care system – thanks to its oil riches – and a remarkable civilian infrastructure for an African nation. Globalists and the neocon faction hate this and plan to turn Libya into a social and economic basket case like they did to Iraq, killing 1.5 million Iraqis in the process. The humanitarian chant we hear day in and day out in the corporate media is merely a thinly disguised pretense and cover for mass murder and destruction.Kurt Nimmo

Enemy # 1 of New World Order, Moammer Gaddafi
Several writers have noted the odd fact that the Libyan rebels took time out from their rebellion in March to create their own central bank – this before they even had a government. Robert Wenzel wrote in the Economic Policy Journal:

I have never before heard of a central bank being created in just a matter of weeks out of a popular uprising. This suggests we have a bit more than a rag tag bunch of rebels running around and that there are some pretty sophisticated influences.

Alex Newman wrote in the New American:

In a statement released last week, the rebels reported on the results of a meeting held on March 19. Among other things, the supposed rag-tag revolutionaries announced the “[d]esignation of the Central Bank of Benghazi as a monetary authority competent in monetary policies in Libya and appointment of a Governor to the Central Bank of Libya, with a temporary headquarters in Benghazi.”

Newman quoted CNBC senior editor John Carney, who asked, “Is this the first time a revolutionary group has created a central bank while it is still in the midst of fighting the entrenched political power?  It certainly seems to indicate how extraordinarily powerful central bankers have become in our era.”

Another anomaly involves the official justification for taking up arms against Libya. Supposedly it’s about human rights violations, but the evidence is contradictory. According to an article on the Fox News website on February 28:

As the United Nations works feverishly to condemn Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi for cracking down on protesters, the body’s Human Rights Council is poised to adopt a report chock-full of praise for Libya’s human rights record. The review commends Libya for improving educational opportunities, for making human rights a “priority” and for bettering its “constitutional” framework. Several countries, including Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, and Saudi Arabia but also Canada, give Libya positive marks for the legal protections afforded to its citizens — who are now revolting against the regime and facing bloody reprisal.

Whatever might be said of Gaddafi, the Libyan people seem to be thriving. A delegation of medical professionals from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus wrote in an appeal to Russian President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin that after becoming acquainted with Libyan life, it was their view that in few nations did people live in such comfort:

[Libyans] are entitled to free treatment, and their hospitals provide the best in the world of medical equipment. Education in Libya is free, capable young people have the opportunity to study abroad at government expense. When marrying, young couples receive 60,000 Libyan dinars (about 50,000 U.S. dollars) of financial assistance.  Non-interest state loans, and as practice shows, undated. Due to government subsidies the price of cars is much lower than in Europe, and they are affordable for every family. Gasoline and bread cost a penny, no taxes for those who are engaged in agriculture. The Libyan people are quiet and peaceful, are not inclined to drink, and are very religious.

They maintained that the international community had been misinformed about the struggle against the regime. “Tell us”, they said, “who would not like such a regime?”

Even if that is just propaganda, there is no denying at least one very popular achievement of the Libyan government: it brought water to the desert by building the largest and most expensive irrigation project in history, the $33 billion GMMR (Great Man-Made River) project. Even more than oil, water is crucial to life in Libya. The GMMR provides 70 percent of the population with water for drinking and irrigation, pumping it from Libya’s vast underground Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System in the south to populated coastal areas 4,000 kilometers to the north. The Libyan government has done at least some things right.

Another explanation for the assault on Libya is that it is “all about oil”, but that theory too is problematic.  As noted in the National Journal, the country produces only about 2 percent of the world’s oil. Saudi Arabia alone has enough spare capacity to make up for any lost production if Libyan oil were to disappear from the market. And if it’s all about oil, why the rush to set up a new central bank?

Another provocative bit of data circulating on the Net is a 2007 “Democracy Now” interview of U.S. General Wesley Clark (Ret.).  In it he says that about 10 days after September 11, 2001, he was told by a general that the decision had been made to go to war with Iraq. Clark was surprised and asked why. “I don’t know!” was the response. “I guess they don’t know what else to do!” Later, the same general said they planned to take out seven countries in five years: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.

What do these seven countries have in common? In the context of banking, one that sticks out is that none of them is listed among the 56 member banks of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). That evidently puts them outside the long regulatory arm of the central bankers’ central bank in Switzerland.

The most renegade of the lot could be Libya and Iraq, the two that have actually been attacked. Kenneth Schortgen Jr., writing on Examiner.com, noted that “[s]ix months before the US moved into Iraq to take down Saddam Hussein, the oil nation had made the move to accept Euros instead of dollars for oil, and this became a threat to the global dominance of the dollar as the reserve currency, and its dominion as the petrodollar.”

According to a Russian article titled “Bombing of Lybia – Punishment for Ghaddafi for His Attempt to Refuse US Dollar”, Gadaffi made a similarly bold move: he initiated a movement to refuse the dollar and the euro, and called on Arab and African nations to use a new currency instead, the gold dinar. Gadaffi suggested establishing a united African continent, with its 200 million people using this single currency. During the past year, the idea was approved by many Arab countries and most African countries. The only opponents were the Republic of South Africa and the head of the League of Arab States. The initiative was viewed negatively by the USA and the European Union, with French president Nicolas Sarkozy calling Libya a threat to the financial security of mankind; but Gaddafi was not swayed and continued his push for the creation of a United Africa.

And that brings us back to the puzzle of the Libyan central bank.  In an article posted on the Market Oracle, Eric Encina observed:

One seldom mentioned fact by western politicians and media pundits: the Central Bank of Libya is 100% State Owned. . . . Currently, the Libyan government creates its own money, the Libyan Dinar, through the facilities of its own central bank. Few can argue that Libya is a sovereign nation with its own great resources, able to sustain its own economic destiny. One major problem for globalist banking cartels is that in order to do business with Libya, they must go through the Libyan Central Bank and its national currency, a place where they have absolutely zero dominion or power-broking ability.  Hence, taking down the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) may not appear in the speeches of Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy but this is certainly at the top of the globalist agenda for absorbing Libya into its hive of compliant nations.

Libya not only has oil. According to the IMF, its central bank has nearly 144 tons of gold in its vaults. With that sort of asset base, who needs the BIS, the IMF and their rules?!

All of which prompts a closer look at the BIS rules and their effect on local economies. An article on the BIS website states that central banks in the Central Bank Governance Network are supposed to have as their single or primary objective “to preserve price stability.” They are to be kept independent from government to make sure that political considerations don’t interfere with this mandate. “Price stability” means maintaining a stable money supply, even if that means burdening the people with heavy foreign debts. Central banks are discouraged from increasing the money supply by printing money and using it for the benefit of the state, either directly or as loans.

In a 2002 article in Asia Times titled “The BIS vs National Banks”, Henry Liu maintained:

BIS regulations serve only the single purpose of strengthening the international private banking system, even at the peril of national economies. The BIS does to national banking systems what the IMF has done to national monetary regimes. National economies under financial globalization no longer serve national interests.
. . . FDI [foreign direct investment] denominated in foreign currencies, mostly dollars, has condemned many national economies into unbalanced development toward export, merely to make dollar-denominated interest payments to FDI, with little net benefit to the domestic economies.

He added, “Applying the State Theory of Money, any government can fund with its own currency all its domestic developmental needs to maintain full employment without inflation.” The “state theory of money” refers to money created by governments rather than private banks.

The presumption of the rule against borrowing from the government’s own central bank is that this will be inflationary, while borrowing existing money from foreign banks or the IMF will not. But all banks actually create the money they lend on their books, whether publicly-owned or privately-owned. Most new money today comes from bank loans. Borrowing it from the government’s own central bank has the advantage that the loan is effectively interest-free. Eliminating interest has been shown to reduce the cost of public projects by an average of 50%.

And that appears to be how the Libyan system works. According to Wikipedia, the functions of the Central Bank of Libya include “issuing and regulating banknotes and coins in Libya” and “managing and issuing all state loans.” Libya’s wholly state-owned bank can and does issue the national currency and lend it for state purposes.

That would explain where Libya gets the money to provide free education and medical care, and to issue each young couple $50,000 in interest-free state loans. It would also explain where the country found the $33 billion to build the Great Man-Made River project. Libyans are worried that NATO-led air strikes are coming perilously close to this pipeline,  threatening another humanitarian disaster.

So is this new war all about oil or all about banking? Maybe both – and water as well. With energy, water, and ample credit to develop the infrastructure to access them, a nation can be free of the grip of foreign creditors. And that may be the real threat of Libya: it could show the world what is possible.  Most countries don’t have oil, but  new technologies are being developed that could make non-oil-producing nations energy-independent, particularly if infrastructure costs are halved by borrowing from the nation’s own publicly-owned bank. Energy independence would free governments from the web of the international bankers, and of the need to shift production from domestic to foreign markets to service the loans.

If the Gaddafi government goes down, it will be interesting to watch whether the new central bank joins the BIS, whether the nationalized oil industry gets sold off to investors, and whether education and health care continue to be free.
