Secular/Democratic India: Woman arrested for clicking 'Like' on Facebook

Print Friendly and PDF

In India a 21 year old woman was arrested for posting a status on Facebook that was critical of a deceased politician. In addition, her friend that “liked” the status was also arrested, and the post wasn’t even threatening or violent in any way.

According to CSM:

“The offending post against recently deceased leader Bal Thackeray resulted in two arrests, the latest in a string of crackdowns on Internet speech in the world’s largest democracy. The police in Mumbai arrested Monday a 21-year-old college student Shaheen Dhada for a Facebook status update and her friend Renu Srinivasan for clicking “Like” on the update.

The case is the latest in a string of recent crackdowns on Internet speech in India. The update had criticized a general strike called by a political party, the right-wing Shiv Sena, to mourn the death Saturday of its elderly founder and patriarch, Bal Thackeray. The controversial leader has been hailed by Hindu nationalists but also criticized by liberals for leaving behind a legacy of political violence in India’s financial capital.

The party has been accused of anti-Muslim violence in Mumbai in 1992, and Mr. Thackeray frequently made statements against Muslims.” In her Facebook post, Ms. Dhada wrote, “Respect is earned, not given and definitely not forced. Today Mumbai shuts down due to fear and not due to respect.” She also said that politicians like Thackeray are “born and die daily” and the city need not shut down for it, and that people should remember the martyrs of the Indian independence movement.

The article also states that:

“Dhada and Ms. Srinivasan were arrested under section 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code that seeks to punish statements that amount to “creating or promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes.” Additionally the two students have also been charged with Section 66A of the Information Technology Act that criminalizes online speech that is “grossly offensive or of menacing character.”

Another law they have been charged with is Indian Penal Code 295A, which makes insulting or outraging religious feelings an offense. The punishment for each count is three years imprisonment each.” This policy of spying on people over the internet and making arrests as a result is currently being implemented worldwide.

Last month, President Benigno Aquino III of the Philippines signed the Cybercrime Prevention Act, which defines several new acts of “crimes” committed online, including, among others, cybersex, identity theft, harassment, hacking, spamming, and pornography.

This has also been happening in the US as well, earlier this year a veteran by the name of Brandon Raub was taken to a mental hospital and detained against his will for controversial political statements that were made on his Facebook page

24 Indian Fishermen arrested for violating Pakistani Waters

Print Friendly and PDF

KARACHI: Pakistan on Friday arrested another 24 Indian fishermen and seized four boats, the maritime security agency said, despite last month announcing the release of all jailed Indian fishermen as a goodwill gesture.

"Some four Indian fishing boats along with 24 crew members were apprehended for poaching well inside Pakistani waters," it said. Pakistan and India frequently arrest and accuse each other's fishermen of violating their respective zones in the Arabian Sea.

Friday's arrests bring to 57 the number of Indian fishermen arrested so far in October, after Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar announced the release of all Indian fishermen when her Indian counterpart SM Krishna visited in September. India, time and again is accused of violating Pakistan's Arabian Sea Waters.

Hindu Brutality against Muslims in Northeastern Assam state at its peak

Print Friendly and PDF

BANGALORE, India — Thousands of panic-stricken Indians from the northeast were fleeing the southern city of Bangalore on Thursday, spurred by rumors they would be attacked in retaliation for communal violence in their home state.

Hundreds of students and workers from Assam state crowded Bangalore’s main railway station to try to board trains heading out of the city, while officials tried in vain to assure them of their safety. People pushed and shoved and some climbed in through train windows to make it past the crush at the doors. The exodus followed clashes in Assam in recent weeks between members of the indigenous Bodo tribe and Muslims that killed more than 50 people and left 400,000 in displacement camps. The violence has spilled to other states where Bodos and other ethnic tribe members from the poor northeast have migrated in search of jobs.

Those fleeing Bangalore said they had heard text messages had been circulating threatening attacks by Muslims. Jagadish Shettar, chief minister of Karnataka state, met separately with Assamese and Muslim leaders Thursday in an effort to restore calm. Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka. Shettar said no one had seen any threatening text messages and authorities were trying to find out who was behind the rumors. He said police and security forces were on alert and telephone helplines had been set up to give a sense of security to people in the city.

Despite Shettar’s assurances, many from the northeast said they felt insecure.
“As a person from the northeast, we always stick out in a crowd. And sometimes that makes us afraid of being easy targets,” said Ganesh Khanal, a garment industry worker trying to board a train at Bangalore railway station. Khanal said he had been living in Bangalore for nearly three years but was returning to his home in Assam as soon as he could secure a ticket.

Decades of ethnic strife and turmoil in India’s northeast have forced hundreds of thousands of young people to move out of the region in search of education and employment opportunities. They find jobs mostly in the service sector in the big cities, working in restaurants, shops and airlines. Also trying to leave was Rita Sarma, a college student at the railway station. “Everyone is saying don’t panic, nothing will happen,” Sarma said. “But I can’t help feeling scared all the time.”

Railway authorities in Bangalore were adding extra coaches on trains heading to Gauhati, the main city in Assam, to help deal with the rush of people. India’s Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said extra trains were plying between Bangalore and Assam to enable people to return to their home state.
The recent rioting in Assam between ethnic Bodos and Muslim settlers mainly involved land rights. The rioting has largely been brought under control, although sporadic outbreaks have occurred in the past few days.

Curfew was imposed Thursday in the town of Rangiya in Assam, after a mob set fire to a wooden bridge across a river, said J.N. Choudhury, a top police officer in the state. Elsewhere in the state, protesters forced passengers out of a bus and set it ablaze, police said. On Saturday, two people died and dozens were injured in Mumbai in clashes between police and thousands of Muslims protesting the deaths of Muslims in rioting last month in Assam. Police fired guns into the air to disperse the protesters, who threw rocks and damaged about a dozen buses and police vans in India’s financial hub.

Outbreaks of violence have also been reported from the southern city of Hyderabad and the western cities of Pune and Nashik, said Bijoya Chakravarty, a lawmaker from Karnataka. The Bodos and the Muslim settlers, who mostly came from the former East Pakistan before it became Bangladesh in 1971, have clashed repeatedly over the years but the recent violence is the worst since the mid-1990s.

Day of Reassurance of Unity: 14th August

Print Friendly and PDF

The 14th August which is celebrating every year as the Independence Day, has come at a time when Pakistan is facing multiple threats of serious nature, which are not only worrying all the citizens, and creating divisions among the federal institutions, but also putting the very integration of the state at stake. No doubt, it was due to the strong unity among the Muslims under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah that Pakistan became a tangible reality. But that unity started declining after passing through various crises.

However, it is because of lack of unity among our politicians, leaders, security forces and media that foreign opportunists have been manipulating the chaotic situation of Pakistan in order to fulfill their secret agenda by destabilising the country. In the past few years, nefarious designs of American CIA, Indian RAW and Israeli Mossad can be gauged from various anti-Pakistan developments such as their support to subversive activities and sectarian violence all over the country and separatism in Balochistan coupled with cross-border terrorism from Afghanistan side.

Particularly, US double game with Pakistan, pressuring the latter to do more against the militants by ignoring the internal backlash, intermittent drone strikes, accusation of cross border terrorism, perennial propaganda against Pak Army, country’s intelligence agency, ISI etc. clearly show future aims of the US-led India and Israel which want to ‘denuclearise’ Pakistan. These elements are supporting violent acts in our country on daily basis. While, the US seems determined to shift Afghan war to Pakistan after the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan. In this respect, these foreign entities have already started a covert war which especially include Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan where their secret agencies are assisting the militants and their agents with money and weapons.

Notably, present drastic situation cannot be comprehended by the general masses and even the political leaders who abruptly change their opinion without logic. Therefore, they become unintentional victim of the external plotters succeed in creating a rift particularly between the political groups, divided on ethnic and linguistic lines. These foreign enemies also seek to create a division between the political leaders and the armed forces of our country.

It is regrettable that on the one hand, our multiple crises show that Pakistan is rapidly advancing towards a ‘failed state’ owing to the sinister designs of the external forces, while on the other, our media, particularly most of the TV channels conduct controversial debate between politicians and commentators, contesting internal politics. While speaking in the tone of anti-Pakistan elements, they have ignored the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces and ISI regarding the security of the country and against terrorism. Following the external media, and blame game, our own internal entities have been maligning these security agencies.

At this critical hour, while deteriorating situation demands selfless unity, both our media anchors and some politicians manipulate every terror-incident or negative development against Pakistan. Accusation and counteraccusations have become their routine practice. In this context, they opine as to what the people want, but conceal as to what people actually need? Especially, it appears that a majority of Pakistan’s media anchors is on the payroll of external enemies.

Internally, Pakistan’s economic crisis has intensified, bringing about other-related problems like load shedding, unemployment, soaring prices of products and dependence upon the US-led developed world. Today Pakistan stands at the crossroads of its destiny, facing internal and external threats to the national security of the country. Besides, our security forces and intelligence agencies are coping with suicide attacks, bomb blasts, sectarian violence and target-killings including sporadic battles with the militants in the tribal areas.

Nevertheless, the14th August demands true national unity. In the recent past, Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani who remained firm on his stand on non-interference in politics, recently said, “Any effort to create divisions between important institutions of the country is not in national interest…the people of Pakistan whose support the army has always considered vital for its operations against terrorists.”

This significant day reminds that our political leaders must pledge that they will not exploit their regional and provincial differences at the cost of the national interests so as to grab political power. In this context, a blind dedication to one’s own race, tribe and creed should not be allowed to create hatred in one group against the other.

They must avoid manipulating present thorny issues in order to increase their vote-bank. If any controversy has arisen between the judiciary and executive bodies, it can better be settled in consonance with the constitution. For this aim, in order to castigate the conspiracy of the external enemies against the country, our political leaders must also stop exploiting any crisis against the security forces and ISI whose image are deliberately being tarnished by the external conspirators.

Besides, Pakistan’s media, especially TV channels must create national cohesion among various segments of society. In this purpose, the owners of these channels must detect and terminate the services of some anchors who are working on the payroll of foreign enemies. As electronic media attract more viewers, so Pakistan’s TV commentators should give a matching response to malicious propaganda of the US-led some western countries including India and Israel which are leaving no stone unturned in distorting the image of Pakistan, its army and ISI.

No doubt, Pakistan’s survival lies in strong cohesion which is also essential for our political leaders themselves as at present, even a layman can note that our country is in chaos and it seems as if there is a “war of all against all” in the sense of ‘Hobbesian state of nature.’

Nonetheless, the 14th August reminds true unity which demands sacrifices of individual and collective selfish interests from the all the citizens, political, religious leaders and media for the national integration of Pakistan. There must be real national unity among the public, politicians and the security forces so as to cope with the anti-Pakistan conspiracy.

Mr. Panetta, SHUT UP! - American Double Game against Pakistan Exposed

Print Friendly and PDF

The USZ Defence Secretary Leon Panetta has emerged as the chief basher of Pakistan. He has been spewing venom against Pakistan from the time he took over as Director CIA. He was the one who advocated making drone as a choice weapon in war on terror and in accelerating drone war in Pakistan since 2009. This is notwithstanding that the final approver is President Obama and he signs the death warrants. Despite Pakistan’s loud protests to put an end to extra judicial killings through drones which kills 97% of innocent people, Panetta arrogantly says that drone strikes would continue. His attitude towards Pakistan, particularly Pak Army and ISI has always been abrasive and hostile. All the statements he made on Pakistan as head of CIA and now as Defence Secretary were stinging and threatening.

Stiff necked and arrogant by nature, Panetta sees everything in Pakistan with a jaundiced mind. We recall how he behaved after the shocking 2 May stealth raid in Abbottabad, asserting that either Pak Army/ISI were complicit or inefficient. He is principally responsible for dissuading Obama to extend a formal apology over Salala incident. He has been trying to intimidate Pakistan to reopen NATO supply lines and made an issue over cost of transit fee for containers. He provocatively stated that the USZ will not pay excessive transit fee of $5000 per container knowing well that the USZ is currently paying five times more to the Central Asian States to transport supplies via northern route. He is the one having created hype over conviction of traitor Dr. Shakil Afridi who worked as CIA agent and was linked with a terrorist group Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) in Bara. Afridi-Mangal Bagh connection is another clue that CIA is connected with LI.

Panetta: USZ is at war against Pakistan
Finding that his bullying tactics are not working because of the solid front put by Gen. Kayani and new DG ISI Lt Gen Zaheer, his blood pressure has risen so high that he has become a madcap. On his recent trip to New Delhi, in an attempt to irk Pakistan, he sang the tune of Hillary Clinton provoking India to play a more active role in Afghanistan. At Kabul, he growled that the USZ is at war in Pakistan’s FATA. He said that the USZ had reached its limits of patience and it couldn’t tolerate Haqqani terrorists residing in North Waziristan (NW), come across the border, attack and kill ISAF troops and return back to their safe havens. He warned that Pakistan must eliminate insurgents’ safe havens in NW.

Let us examine the grouses of Panetta whether they have some meat, or are capricious and motivated. If the militants belonging to one-third force of Haqqanis under Sirajuddin are crossing over from 2-3 crossing points into adjacent Paktia and Khost provinces where bulk of Haqqanis under Jalaluddin are operating in eastern Afghanistan, why can’t ISAF and ANA equipped with sophisticated surveillance equipment intercept the infiltrators crossing the border by manning border posts and mining crossing places? NATO had launched an operation in Khost last year; why couldn’t it subdue the main body of HN or was it just a ruse to lure Pak Army? Why have most of the border posts opposite NW and South Waziristan (SW) been withdrawn? Why can’t the infiltrators be caught and killed when they marry up with their comrades across the border and then travel upwards towards their intended targets well in depth?

Why does the 480,000 strong combined force of ISAF-ANA-Afghan Police-USZ security contractors expect Pak security forces to singly take on the dual job of fighting the militants in all the seven tribal agencies and adjacent settled areas as well as man over 1000 border posts all along the porous western border and also check infiltration while the other side conveniently adopts a rearward posture to avoid battle casualties and bad mouth Pakistan? It complains like a fidgety and nagging mother-in-law. It wants Pakistan to continue deploying 147000 troops along its western front without expecting payments for services rendered. Rather, it wants additional forces at the cost of thinning its presence on eastern front to launch another military operation in NW but without asking for reimbursement of dues. Stoppage of $800 million CSF is not aid money but the arrear repayments of 2010/11, Washington owes to Pak Army.

The USZ is at war with Pakistan since 2002 but kept it hidden till Obama took over in January 2009. By accelerating drone war in FATA and stepping up covert war and propaganda campaign after declaring Af-Pak region as a single combat zone, the USZ had subtly converted its covert war to overt war. Since March 2009, SW and NW have been mercilessly hit by CIA operated drones killing hundreds of innocent civilians, mostly aged men, women and children, sleeping in their houses. Although big claims have been made that high profile Al-CIA-Da leaders were targeted by drones, the fact is that 97% of victims are civilians and veracity of 3% killed "suspected" militants has never been substantiated. If the safe havens are in NW as alleged by Panetta, it boggles one’s mind as to why the Predator and Reaper drones, supposed to be precision guided systems didn’t destroy any of them? The only restraining reason could be that the USZ considers all the towns and villages in NW as sanctuaries and want Pak Army to destroy all of them.

If the ISAF with the help of ANA had been successful in overpowering the strongholds of Taliban in Eastern and Southern Afghanistan, which constitute 60% of total territory of the war torn country, it could then justifiably lament over the adverse impact of safe havens across the border and blame Pakistan? Reality on ground is that the ISAF and ANA have utterly failed to contain the rising power of Taliban what to talk of subduing them. It was because of stiff resistance put up by the Taliban that the USZ was compelled to order complete withdrawal of combat troops from Afghanistan by December 2014. Hardly a day passes when no clash or bomb blast takes place resulting in fatality of occupation troops and such incidents occur in all parts including Northern, Western and Central Afghanistan including Kabul.

So how come, the whole onus of ISAF’s performance is attributed to few crossings in NW by elements of HN? How come, a tiny portion of HN in NW has become such a dreadful monster that it has crippled the military power of USZ-NATO-ANA? If it is such a horrifying fiend, why it is expected that it can be tamed by Pak military? Safe havens and HN are not the problem; the real problem is that groups under the command of Maulvi Nazir in SW, Hafiz Gul Bahadur and Haqqani group in NW refuse to tow American line and are not confronting Pak Army. The USZ is forcing Pakistan Army to mount an operation in NW so that all militant forces including pro-Pakistan groups gang up against it.

Let us now examine the conduct of Pakistan’s so-called allies bunched up in Kabul. Isn’t it true that the CIA invited RAW to Afghanistan to undermine Pakistan? Isn’t it a fact that the USZ and Karzai regime helped India in establishing dozens of Pakistan specific consulates filled with RAW officials and in establishing over 100 training camps closer to Afghan-Pakistan border to train saboteurs and in allowing India to transport thousands of tons of arms, ammunition, explosives and military trainers to Afghanistan under the garb of road construction projects? Who would believe that RAW, and RAAM created by former, carryout covert war against Pakistan at a massive scale without the knowledge and connivance of Washington, USZ military, NATO and CIA? It is now an established fact that a group of six colluding intelligence agencies under CIA stationed at Sehra Naward near Kabul are assiduously working on an agenda to secularize, denuclearize and balkanize Pakistan.

Who can deny that Pakistani Taliban were the creation of CIA and Mossad to defame Islam and Afghan Taliban, and to incapacitate Pak Army? Who doesn’t know that Nek Muhammad was the first one cultivated by CIA to confront the Army, and when he learnt that he had been wrongly briefed and he signed a peace deal with Lt Gen Safdar at Shakai Fort in June 2004, he was killed by CIA operated drone. It is a well known fact that Abdullah Mehsud after his arrest in Afghanistan in November 2001 was shifted to Gitmo Prison where he was thoroughly brainwashed and then infiltrated into FATA via Afghanistan in 2005 to galvanize Taliban movement. Likewise, his cousin Baitullah Mehsud was also brought in line and the two worked independently but in unison to establish TTP. Both had been led up the garden path that the USZ will help in creating Islamic caliphate in FATA.

Pakistan has ample proofs of foreign support to Mullah Fazlullah in Swat. He and his followers after being dislodged from their base have been provided safe havens in Nuristan and Kunar from where they are carrying out acts of terror in Mehmand, Bajaur, Dir and Chitral duly aided by Kabul regime and agencies. Unlike state sponsored cross border terrorism from across western border, Pakistan or its Army and ISI are not involved in abetting cross border terrorism into Afghanistan or even in Kashmir where genuine freedom movements are waging. While the other side has no proof against Pakistan, the latter has abundant proofs against Afghanistan based intelligence agencies.

It is an open secret that the training centre run by Mossad in Badakshan for which Muslim religious teachers were provided by India imparted ideological training to young recruits and trained them as suicide bombers. Targets given to them were military convoys, mosques, shrines, funerals, wedding parties, schools and religious scholars. Can the USZ deny that Blackwater secretly inducted in Pakistan in early 2008 is the extension of CIA? Documents seized from the car of Raymond Davis and diary containing addresses and phone numbers revealed that he and his colleagues were linked with all terrorist groups in Pakistan and a huge CIA network was operating in Pakistan.

Isn't it true that despite the policy of appeasement, top officials of Pakistan have been off and on mentioning in categorical terms that RAW is involved in Balochistan? PM Gilani had handed over proofs to Indian PM Manmohan at Sharm-el-Sheikh in 2009 which shook him. India’s RAW-run websites like www.saag.org openly claim India hand behind Balochistan. Karazi has been shown proofs by ISI on several occasions that Afghan soil is used by RAW and others to destabilize Balochistan and FATA. Dissident Baloch Sardars like late Balach Marri, Brahamdagh Bugti and several others that led the insurgency were provided safe havens in Afghanistan and were patronized by CIA, RAW, MI-6 and Mossad.

All these agencies have established their tentacles in Balochistan and in league with BLA, BRA and BLF are involved in attacking security forces, target killing non-locals and Hazaras, abductions, and mutilation of dead bodies. 30 Farari (training) camps are operating in Afghanistan and 121 in interior Balochistan to train Baloch terrorist groups as was disclosed by IGFC Balochistan in his press conference on 2 June. He said our agencies are confronting 20 foreign intelligence networks in Balochistan. Several runaway Baloch rebels are living in luxury in European countries and USZA and are encouraged and helped by foreign powers to pursue their separatist agenda. USZ Congress, Senators and media are audaciously running a campaign for independent Balochistan.

Having forced the Army to take up a backseat, the rebels and their mentors now want the paramilitary forces to also pack up and clear the way for foreign intervention unopposed. For this reason, issue of missing persons is being blown out of all proportions. Retired Justice Javed Iqbal heading the Commission on missing persons stated that there was concrete evidence to show that foreign intelligence agencies were responsible for making Balochistan restive as well as the disappearance of Baloch nationalists. He decried the baseless propaganda by foreign and local media about missing persons that FC and agencies were involved in this racket.

What I have failed to comprehend is the infuriation of chief justice Iftikhar over the press conference of IGFC Balochistan Maj Gen Obaidullah concerning foreign intervention and worsening law and order situation of Balochistan. He has further tensed the situation by stating that he might summon Gen Kayani before the court if enforced disappearances didn’t get controlled. I went through the contents of IGFC’s briefing and found nothing objectionable in it. He substantiated what Justice Javed had said and is doing a wonderful job to preserve the sanctity of the federation under adverse conditions. He should be encouraged rather than discouraged particularly when the police and civil administration are not playing their due role to provide security to the people. Now that his services have been placed directly under Chief Minister Raisani, the latter should order elimination of rebels training camps which are training target killers and saboteurs and terrorizing people of Balochistan. I am sure, the USZ and India so fond of eliminating sanctuaries and training camps in other countries would have no objection to this act against terrorism. Or else, the USZ could be requested to divert few of the drone strikes from FATA to Balochistan to destroy Farari camps.

Pakistan’s alliance with the USZ has proved very costly. It suffered a loss of 150,000+ human lives, $100 billion+ economic loss and extreme social trauma. Pak security forces have suffered 10,000+ fatalities while combating militants, mostly aided by foreign powers. No other country involved in fighting terrorism can match Pakistan’s sacrifices. Had it not been for the excellent fight put up by the Army, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, Levies, Khasadars, Police and tribal Lashkars and routing the strongholds of the militant forces in Swat, Shangla, Malakand Division, tribal agencies of SW, NW, Bajaur, Mehmand, Kurram, Orakzai, Khyber and Dara Adam Khel, as well as provincially administered tribal areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, terrorism would have flooded Pakistan and then spilled over to India, Iran, Afghanistan Central Asian States, China and Russia. ISAF could not have stayed on for that long in Afghanistan. In other words, Pakistan is absorbing the major brunt of terrorism as a frontline state at a very heavy cost and easing the pains of all these countries. Its sacrifices are unparalleled and resolve unshakeable.

Instead of appreciating its difficulties and rewarding it for what no other country could do, Pakistan is being unjustly distrusted and punished by the USZ and neglected by the world. Pakistan’s interests are disregarded and sovereignty repeatedly violated. Pakistan has been rendering full support to USZ even after finding out that it was being treated as a foe. NATO containers were allowed to transit through Pakistan from October 2001 till 26 November 2011 free of cost which made Pakistan suffer $60 billion+ worth of damage to its road infrastructure. Pakistan continued to follow the policy of appeasement despite Washington’s spiteful attitude and didn’t run out of patience. It blocked the supply routes only when the USZ arrogantly refused to own up its deliberate brutal killing of 24 soldiers of Pak Army at Salala and to tender an apology and to stop mutilating Pakistan’s sovereignty by ceasing drone attacks.

The USZ wants the supply routes to be reopened or else it will block the aid supply and may even impose sanctions, or attempt another unilateral military action. The USZ behaved in a similar haughty fashion when Raymond Davis was arrested and when the USZ Navy SEALs carried out a unilateral strike in Abbottabad. Believing in the dictum of ‘might is right’, power drunk American leadership wants Pakistan to accept its insults, humiliations, discriminations and lies  without uttering a word of protest and behave like a slave country. America is the most impatient and trigger-happy country which acts on its whims, but Panetta incongruously says the USZ is losing patience. His Asst Defence Secretary Peter Lavoy also came with a swollen head thinking that the threatening posture of his boss might have softened up Gen Kayani, but he got the shock of his life when Kayani fittingly refused to meet him. Times have changed and earlier the USZ understands it, better will it be for it.

It is time for the USZ to admit its follies in Afghanistan and stop playing a double game of fighting and talking with the Taliban in the same breath. Time for fighting is over and now the entire focus should be on negotiations to ensure a safe and speedy withdrawal of 130,000 troops and heavy equipment stranded in Afghanistan. At the same time, the USZ should also pick up moral courage to admit that it has made mistakes in dealing with Pakistan and should take immediate steps to alleviate the hurts it has caused to Pakistan and to remove its security concerns. Both are possible only if Obama wriggles out of the heavy-handed influence of Pentagon and CIA and relies more on Pakistan to help in ending the endgame on a positive note favorable to all the stakeholders. At the same time our leaders should also become more assertive in highlighting the perverse role of foreign powers in internal affairs of Balochistan and present solid proofs to the world bodies and international community at the earliest.

The Arrogant Indo-American War against Pakistan

Print Friendly and PDF

Armed uprising by the Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir in 1988 had placed India in a very tight corner. State terrorism by India’s 700,000 strong military force had completely failed to suppress the freedom movement. India’s consistent efforts throughout the 1990s to brand freedom movement as terrorism and to get Pakistan branded as a terrorists supporting state by United States of Zionism (USZ) and the UN couldn’t bear fruit. It propagated that all Jihadi outfits linked with Kashmir like Harkatul Mujahideen (HuM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hizb-e-Islami, Jaish-e-Muhammad, late Ilyas Kashmiri outfit and several others were the creation of ISI and without Pakistan’s support, the movement would have died its own death. India lost its blackmailing capability after Pakistan became nuclear in 1998. Nuclear Pakistan further bolstered the spirits of freedom fighters in Kashmir , but saddened India .

When terrorism became the chief concern of USZ and its western allies in the aftermath of 9/11, excited India jumped to the conclusion that it could now easily sort out its archrival. India became party to the master plan conceived to undermine and denuclearize Pakistan . From 2002 onward, RAW in concert with allied intelligence agencies embarked upon a comprehensive covert war against Pakistan. Though all the Jihadi groups were banned by Musharraf in 2001/02, India maintained that those were still patronized by ISI under different names.

Almost all terrorist attacks taking place in India in the first decade of the new millennium were ascribed to LeT and ISI was blamed. Although the six agencies involved in subversive acts succeeded in making several regions of Pakistan restive, they couldn’t breach the first line of defence put up by the ISI. After failing to put it under Ministry of Interior in August 2008, the schemers chalked out an ISI specific plan.

On 26 November 2008, a false flag operation by RAW-Mossad-CIA combined was stage-managed in Mumbai with multiple purposes. Hemant Karkare, the anti-terrorist police chief of Maharashtra who had arrested key accused persons involved in several terrorist acts and had learnt about linkage of Hindu terrorist groups linked with Indian Army was to be bumped off. Attention of the world had to be deflected from Indian Occupied Kashmir that had become explosive due to non-violent movement. ISI that was not getting controlled by CIA was to be cut to size by getting it declared a rogue outfit. 2002 military standoff like pressure was to be exerted on Pakistan to make it cede more ground.

Ground had to be prepared to make Pakistan agree to surgical strikes by Indian air force against alleged terrorist camps in Muridke and Azad Kashmir. With these objectives in view, Indian media went berserk and created war hysteria and once again Indian forces including strike corps were deployed along the border and a threatening posture adopted. India remained in a belligerent mood till as late as beginning of 2011 and then suddenly started to show its soft face.
Lately, the Delhi plan was executed so poorly that it left too many loopholes. Earlier, a Rambo-like story was hatched in Mumbai to look real. LeT was blamed for masterminding Mumbai attacks and ISI providing backup support. Former DG ISI was haughtily summoned to Delhi. Throughout the military standoff period, Indian military itched to carryout surgical strikes on so-called suspected terrorist camps in Pakistan. But for prompt response by our F-16s, Indian jets might have struck a selected spot.

The lone survivor Ajmal Kasab in custody of Indian authorities was awarded death sentence by Mumbai court but his Indian accomplices were let off. Pakistan has not been given access to Kasab and it is not clear whether he is a Pakistani or an Indian, with apparent evidence solidly indicating him being an Indian Hindu with a complete Indian accent of speaking. He didn't know the meaning of Jihad when he was asked about it in the so-called investigation video, which is ridiculous and not only this, he was later found pleading to the Hindu god Bhagwan which a Muslim would never do. Even Interpol was denied access to Kassab. India has not been able to answer as to which network in India was behind the murder of Hemant Karkare who was about to reveal sensational news about the progress he had made. While his murder has been shelved, crocodile tears are still being shed over the deaths of 166 people at the hands of ten terrorists, mostly Indians.

In November 2010, the USZ Federal Court issued summon to former DG ISI Lt Gen Shuja Pasha and senior members of LeT for their alleged involvement in Mumbai attacks. On 16 December 2010, in response to a complaint lodged by one Kareem Khan of North Waziristan, Islamabad Police moved to register murder case against CIA Station Chief in Pakistan Jonathan Banks who was supervising drone campaign. Kareem claimed his son and brother had been killed in drone attack on 31 December 2009. Although Jonathan flew away to USZ, involvement of CIA in anti-state activities in Pakistan was established.

Its covert network involving hundreds of spies operating in Pakistan was blown up with the arrest of Raymond Davis on 27 January 2011. India ’s strategic partner USZ fully corroborated India’s version on Mumbai episode and continued to exert pressure on Pakistan to abide by the dictates of India to avoid war. It also overplayed LeT and described it as a global threat as deadly as Al-CIA-Da. Series of articles were written by USZ-Western writers projecting LeT as an international organization and a serious threat to the USZ and western world.

In late 2010, it was revealed by Indian agencies that homegrown Hindu terrorist groups linked with serving and retired Indian Army officers were responsible for the terror attacks. Even Indian federal home minister acknowledged on mainstream media that threat from Indian terror groups was manifold higher than that from Pakistan. Last summer, a Hindu religious fanatic Ameenasabad was found involved in Samjhota Express train bomb blasts in 2007, in which 60 Pakistanis were killed. During his trial, he confessed his guilt and gave out details of his network which was Indian Muslims specific with an agenda of creating a Hindu State in India . It was found out that all the acts of terror in which the ISI and LeT were blamed were in actuality committed by Hindu terrorist groups. The biased USZ-western media remained tightlipped over these revelations and no aspersion was cast on India or any of the involved groups and Indian military.

02 May 2011 raid encouraged India to renew its demand for extradition of wanted persons allegedly hiding in Pakistan and in exuberance issued a list of 50 most wanted fugitives. India also gave a veiled threat that it could also replicate Abbottabad like commando raid to get hold of Dawood Ibrahim and Hafiz Saeed. Since lie has no feet, India had to embarrassingly withdraw the list when two of the listed fugitives were found residing in India. However, Indian spin doctors kept up with their efforts to portray LeT as the most dangerous threat not only to India but to the world as a whole.

It became evident that after playing up Al-CIA-Da threat for over a decade, LeT was picked up and its linkage with ISI scandalized to keep ISI in the dock. With the death of Ilyas Kashmiri heading 313 Brigade (its outfit’s name), HuM was also painted as a monstrous militant group associated with ISI. The USZ built up a story that HuM was OBL’s support group in Pakistan and was in collusion with ISI. Link was established after extracting phone call records from cell phone in use of OBL at Abbottabad. USZ officials spread the story that some elements within the Army/ISI were in the know of OBL’s hideout and were providing logistic support to him. The theme of ‘either you were complicit or inefficient’ was callously played up.

Documents and video tapes "collected" from Abbottabad compound were frenetically browsed to establish ISI’s linkage with the most wanted man. The three widows of OBL, released by Pakistan would also be grilled by CIA and RAW agents to extract something out of them which could help in hooking up Army/ISI. If the USZ was really so serious in obtaining the truth, why was OBL killed and why his body was secretly dumped in sea? Rather, why was an already dead bogeyman who originally died in 2001, killed again? The answer is simple. The two partners in crime are not interested in truth but are past masters in twisting facts and in fabrications.

The whole world knows that India’s RAW is deeply involved in FATA and Balochistan. India’s motive of making Pakistan a vassal state is no more secret after seeing it craze to modernize its armed forces and to buildup its nuclear stockpiles. Its design to choke Pakistan (#Water Terrorism by India) has become evident after witnessing its obsession to construct dozens of dams over the three rivers. In conjunction with USZ-Western-Jewish media, Indian media is involved in smearing the image of Pakistan and its premier institutions through a calculated media campaign. The USZ and its western allies turn a blind eye toward over hundred Hindu terrorist groups in India and perverse role of RAW.

Not a single group or an individual involved in terrorism has been declared a terrorist group. On the other hand, the USZ is keen to ostracize even those outfits like Jamaatud-Dawa purely engaged in education and charity works. Following in the footsteps of USZ , India has also announced $10 million award money for the arrest of Hafiz Saeed who has been honorably cleared by the courts. While the duo is after his blood, the USZ is highly miffed over the sentencing of Dr Shakil Afridi on charges of treason. He preferred to keep Pakistan agencies in the dark but guided CIA to the compound of Akbar Khan which western media later on presented as OBL's, to get dollars.

Pakistan has been punished by cutting $33 million aid. This has become yet another irritant in Pak-USZ frosty relations. I wonder how American courts would deal with an American spying for ISI to embarrass USZ and hiding it from own intelligence agencies. Having agreed in 1989 to pullout its troops from occupied Siachin Glacier, India has backtracked and is in no mood to honor its pledge. It got keyed up when some of our political leaders and SAFMA influenced pro-India writers suggested that Pakistan should withdraw from Siachin unilaterally, since such a move would not only help Indian troops occupying two-thirds of the glacier to cut off Pak-China linkage but also would place them in a commanding position to encircle Azad Kashmir. India refuses to settle Kashmir and Sir Creek disputes and wants Pakistan to give up its claims.

With such devious intentions, India still has the temerity to say that it desires friendship with Pakistan and prophesizes that opening up of bilateral trade would help in resolving all outstanding issues. It is offering trade since Pakistan’s exports to India are only 15% and that of India 85%. There are unconfirmed reports that the tragedy which befell upon the 138 defenders of Pakistan in Gayari sector of Siachin on 7 April was not a result of an avalanche or a cloud burst, but because of satellite targeted laser impulse by NASA. If so, it makes the tragedy all the more painful.

Seven weeks have elapsed and in deference to the instructions of Gen Kayani, round the clock rescue operations are continuing, and now after weeks of rescue work in killing weather conditions, finally one by one the brave hearts buried under the snow mountain have started to come out. Unless a miracle happens, chances of any survival are nil. Those who are involved in search operations are also risking their lives. Several families of the affected victims have given up hope and want the GHQ to officially declare them as martyrs rather than keeping their status in suspense. Others who have not given up hope need to be consoled and convinced to ask themselves that the Army should stop highly expensive but futile search operations.

Unless they are officially declared martyrs, their next of kin will not get entitled to compensations. Civil society may undertake this difficult task of approaching the affected families, while welfare & rehabilitation directorate in GHQ should extend the special compensation package meant for the Shuhada to them. While Pakistan is facing the natural and man made calamities and conspiracies and is going through testing times, irony is that some TV channels and groups within Pakistan such as SAFMA and Aman ki Asha and individuals like Najam Sethi, his wife Jugnu Mohsin, Imtiaz Alam, Ahmed Rashid, Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy, Ayesha Sadiqa, Hasan Nisar, Ghamadi, Asma Jahangir, Hussein Haqqani, and several others are getting good funding from India and elsewhere to espouse Indian cause at the cost of Pakistan’s national interests.

They see nothing good in Pakistan; they spread gloom and open up settled issues by questioning the ideology of Pakistan, two-nation theory, and whether it was right decision of the Quaid to make Pakistan. Some among them cast aspersions on Islam while others consider it their obligatory duty to malign Pak Army and ISI and to sing praises of India and USZ. No one from among the promoters of peace talks of bloodletting in occupied Kashmir, or the havoc wrought by foreign agents in Pakistan. India and USZ helped by quislings in Pakistan are incessantly firing psychological operations bullets on Pak Army and ISI so as to keep these extremely efficient organizations under pressure.

Pakistan is being pressured, vilified and victimized despite being the biggest victim of terrorism and having suffered most grievously. As against 35000 civilian casualties and 15000 security forces dying and getting wounded in the war on terror, casualties suffered by the USZ and NATO countries are too insignificant. India suffered 166 fatalities in Mumbai attacks and about 25 in a suicide attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul. Their total casualties in over ten years don’t exceed 300. This comparison in human losses alone belie Indo-USZ motivated propaganda and gives a clear picture as to who is the sufferer and who is malingering and who is the perpetrator of terrorism.
