At least 11 people including a woman were killed and three others hurt near a bus stop on Spini Road in Quetta on Saturday morning, police said. According to details, some Lashkar-e-Jhangvi banned terrorists in a car opened indiscriminate fire on people riding a Suzuki van and a rickshaw near a bus stop, killing 11 people on the spot. The attackers fled the scene after firing, leaving behind panicked people. Relief and rescue teams arrived on the spot. The bodies and injured were shifted to nearby Bolan Medical Complex. It should be mentioned here that the deceased were on their way to earn their daily livelihood. Eyewitnesses said two miscreants riding a car opened fire at a Suzuki van and a rickshaw, killing 11 people near a bus stop on Spini Road. After the incident, the enraged local people, including the bereaved families, went on a rampage and set tires on fire to block Brohi Road.
Saturday morning's incident is the second of its kind in the city over the last 12 hours or so. Late on Friday night, seven Shia devotees were reportedly shot dead in Quetta while they were heading to Iran to visit religious places. The banned CIA backed extremist group "Lashkar-e-Jhangvi" had claimed responsibility for the Friday's attack on the Shia devotees. A spokesman of the group Ali Sher Haidri said that it was the revenge of the murder of a Sunni scholar Maulvi Karim who was killed in Quetta in firing on Thursday. Quetta, a capital city Balochistan province bordering Iran and Afghanistan to its west, has seen a series of bomb blasts, sectarian and target killings in recent weeks. It is important to note that the USZ so called diplomat Raymond Allen Davis, who was arrested after shooting down two innocent Pakistani Civilians, was also linked to this banned terrorist organization which indicates the CIA network is trying to spark sectarian rift in the volatile areas to facilitate disintegration of Pakistan.
Also on Friday, two people including a nephew of Balochistan's Chief Minister were killed and nearly 30 others were injured in a bomb attack which occurred outside a football stadium in Mastung, a district located some 60 km south of Quetta. Police started the investigation of the incident.
