Operation in North Waziristan not imminent!

Print Friendly and PDF

After his meeting with General James N. Mattis, Commander US CENTCOM on 17th August, Chief of Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani categorically dispelled the speculative reporting in foreign media, regarding joint operations in North Waziristan. He had reiterated: “We might, if necessary, undertake operations in NWA, in the timeframe of our choosing and requirements. It will never be a result of any outside pressure."

Yet some local commentriat and politicos started criticising civil and military leadership. Of course Civil and military leaderships are on one page in this regard that if at all operation is required to be undertaken, its timings will be decided by Pakistan and not on America’s dictation. Anyhow, final decision whether the operation would be undertaken or not will be made keeping in view the Parliament’s resolution, which exhorts to negotiate with the militants. But there is a proviso that in the event all other efforts fail then the government could resort to military action. However, people of Pakistan would have to be taken on board before any military operation is launched in North Waziristan. The question is whether all strata of society is in favour of such an operation?

The situation on ground is that business community is divided; one group opposes the military operation taking the plea it could be disastrous for the national economy. The other group wants military operation should be undertaken to eliminate terrorism and extremism in every form and manifestation, as in the presence of deteriorating law and order situation, neither foreign nor domestic investment would be forthcoming. They believe that foreign forces are occupying Afghanistan, but the worldwide view is that they are UN mandated and supported by a legitimate Afghan government.

Pakistan is facing the dilemma in that it is facing the US plus 49 other countries, and will have to ensure that Pakistan’s soil is not used by the Taliban for attacking American and NATO forces in Afghanistan. At the same time, American and NATO forces will have to take measures that Tehrik-e-Taliban fighters holed in Kunar and Nuristan are stopped from attacking Pakistan’s security forces in areas bordering Afghanistan. The fact remains that these areas are under the control of ISAF forces. The question however is whether people of Pakistan would support an operation against, what they say Haqqani network and other militant groups? Anyhow, people of Pakistan and different strata of society would have to be taken on board, and there should be a consensus on an operation if it is deemed necessary. However, the same should be undertaken after taking into consideration certain pre-requisites including the fall out of such an operation. Of course, measures would have to be taken for temporarily accommodating the people migrating from that area, and again to rehabilitate them after the operation.

According to a defence analyst, “well-planned covert operations must be undertaken to isolate the militants from the locals, though a difficult proposition till the time locals carry the impression that militants are waging ‘jihad’ against foreign forces in Afghanistan. Speedy rehabilitation and initiation of political process after successful military operation are imperatives for a permanent solution, which must be planned in advance. The experience shows that successful military operations in Swat and South Waziristan were not backed by the required political process for seeking permanent solution. Therefore, any future military operation must be preceded by creating the consensus so that political leadership takes full ownership and media is effectively used to educate the masses”. During the last four years, our forces undertook operations in Swat and South Waziristan, and since the border on Afghan side was not sealed, the terrorists went across the border to Afghanistan, and since then they are conducting terrorist activities against Pakistan with impunity from their safe-havens in Afghanistan.

One would not know if it is trust deficit or pernicious designs of the US and the NATO countries when they point their fingers of accusation towards Pakistan either for not doing enough to rein in militants or for supporting and training them. It is puerile nonsense even to imagine that Pakistan is out to destabilize Afghanistan, as Pakistan can gain immensely from stable Afghanistan. It will present tremendous business opportunities because Afghanistan will be a bridge to Central Asian republics. If one dispassionately evaluates and examines the prevailing situation it is not difficult to draw conclusion that detractors of Pakistan have coalesced as their interests converge in the region. It goes without saying that India would be the greatest beneficiary if the gulf between two brotherly Muslim countries widens.

The US should review its policy and try to identify the causes for violence in Afghanistan, and address the issues. According to Nathaniel Fick, who served as a Marine officer in Afghanistan during the first year of the war and was again sent to Afghanistan to do research for the Centre for a New American Security said: “Based on what we heard while we were there, a lot of these guys are involved in the insurgency for economic reasons first and ideological reasons secondly”. There is no industry to create employment opportunities to the jobless, and no serious effort has been made by various governments to promote agriculture. This leaves the unemployed at the mercy of militants who look after them better than the state because of their income from drug-trafficking. During the last 11 years, warlords had a free hand to amass wealth by encouraging poppy cultivation in Afghanistan and were also involved in drug-trafficking under American and NATO forces’watch.

Crackdown against Haqqani Network: SC suspends Ispahani's NA membership over dual nationality

Print Friendly and PDF

The Supreme Court of Pakistan suspended Peoples Party MNA Farahnaz Ispahani's membership of the National Assembly while hearing the dual nationality case on Friday. The case was being heard by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry, a private TV channel reported. During the proceedings, certain documents were presented to the court, confirming allegations that Farahnaz Ispahani is a dual nationality holder. According to the document Farahnaz is also an American National.

The supreme court ruled, that her membership from the National Assembly will be revoked on account of not disclosing her dual nationality status to the Election Commission. During today’s hearing Senator Satan Malik’s lawyer prayed the court on behalf of his client, for an extension in deadline to present the certificate of Malik revoking his British citizenship. It should be noted that Farahnaz Ispahani is a prominent PPP figure and the wife of Pakistan’s former stooge ambassador to USZ, Hussain Haqqani and is very actively involved in conspiring against Pakistan's national institutions using her high profile contacts in American mainstream media.

The "Haqqani Network" in Washington DC

Print Friendly and PDF

Zionist New World Order operative Hussain Haqqani
Erstwhile phone buddies Husain Haqqani and Mansoor Ijaz have amply proven each other to be dubious characters, and such people have a recurring habit of falling out. The truth about Memogate’s sponsors notwithstanding, the motivation was primarily to bring the Pakistani security establishment to heel, the ultimate goal being to “de-nuke” Pakistan. Mansoor Ijaz being an American-born USZ citizen was safe promoting stated USZ policy. What was Pakistan’s ambassador to the USZ , His Excellency Husain Haqqani, up to? The Supreme Court did the right thing appointing a really high-powered Judicial Commission (chief justices of three provincial high courts) to sift fact from fiction.

Mansoor Ijaz scored big by giving his BlackBerry PIN number to the Judicial Commission and offering to hand over his BlackBerry and all related data. Husain Haqqani seemed to suffer from “memory loss” about where his device was, saying it was somewhere in his home in Washington DC. He later obfuscated, initially flatly declining to have his BlackBerry data investigated, then allowing limited access. The government (and his buddies in the media) faithfully parroted Haqqani’s defence about the memo being fake.

Mansoor Ijaz went one better by presenting additional forensic evidence in London on May 10 to experts engaged by the Judicial Commission. The eight-hour examination of his computer and BlackBerry handsets by forensic experts verified and validated each and every word of all BBM chat exchanges, e-mails, SMS messages and the telephone calls exchanged between him and Husain Haqqani. Many deleted messages were also recovered in the process. Haqqani and his lawyers boycotted the proceedings on the grounds that the examination should have been conducted earlier during the cross-examination of Mansoor Ijaz.

Husain Haqqani started his political career as president of the extremely militant Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami. A far-right Islamist political party, the Jamaat advocates religious fundamentalism and a theocracy-based government system in Pakistan. The MQM then not being in existence, the Jamaat virtually ruled Karachi. Haqqani’s academic brilliance was recognised by Ziaul Haq’s martial law regime, which assiduously promoted his career as a journalist.

After Zia’s death(martyrdom) he started working for the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), created by Zia’s military and civilian supporters to counter Benazir Bhutto’s resurgent Pakistan Peoples Party. A past master at giving spin to facts, he excelled himself serving the PML-N. His “dirty tricks” were too much for then political neophyte Mian Nawaz Sharif to stomach, so Haqqani fell out with the PML-N to join its ideological opposite, the PPP. Reincarnated as a liberal, Haqqani spewed poison against his former rightist mentors.

The Supreme Court was naive in generously allowing him to leave the country during the Memogate hearings despite being repeatedly advised that he would never come back. Not surprisingly, Haqqani, who never fails to eventually maul whoever helps him, has now turned his guns on those honourable judges. His latest article “How Pakistan lets terrorism fester, why Pakistani courts are biased?” is a shameful attempt at maligning the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Lashing out at the intelligence agencies, he does not spare the media either, “While fighting Pakistan’s endemic corruption is vital, the media and judiciary have helped redirect attention away from the threat of jihadist ideology by constantly targeting the governing party – a convenient situation for the intelligence services, which would prefer to keep the spotlight on the civilian government rather than on the militant groups they have historically supported.”

Ahmad Noorani unmasked Haqqani’s real face in his excellent rejoinder on May 14: “In his true colours: why is sacked ambassador shy of the truth?” “He (Haqqani) says our national discourse has been hijacked by those seeking to deflect attention from militant Islamic extremism and Gen Zia and Musharraf were mainly responsible. What a marvel of a statement if he had only looked at his own career and growth. Was he himself not an Islamist militant student leader? Did Gen Zia not promote him as a journalist in the Far Eastern Economic Review? Was he not advising the dictator, free of cost or for whatever returns. He forgot to admit that he was a member of Team Zia, which played havoc with this country.

This scribe has a state-run TV’s video showing Haqqani weeping at the time of the death of his mentor Ziaul Haq. Haqqani accuses the Supreme Court judges of carrying out their ‘own partisan agenda.’ What he calls an agenda is actually the blowback of his own party government’s massive corruption, loot and plunder, which Mr Haqqani conveniently refuses to see.

The PPP leaders have all along shouted from housetops that in 11 years nothing was proved against them. Now that the courts are proving charges of corruption, judges have become biased and carrying agendas! Is there any limit to the depth of shamelessness that Mr Haqqani and his bosses will stop at?”

Noorani adds: “Haqqani says the Pakistani media has done little to help generate support for eliminating extremism and fighting terrorism. What the media has done for him, he will never talk about. Can he tell us how many hundreds or thousands of calls he has made to each and every media person to push his point of view? How many fake websites he and his cronies, getting funds from one secret fund or other, have been running to malign his opponents and promote him as a victim and as a hero?

How many fake names has he been using to respond to legal and criminal questions that he was supposed to answer but ran away? Haqqani’s cronies in the print and electronic media are ready to do his bidding “as and when required.” Coordinated disinformation by media celebrities never ceases to amaze. His “media network” outdid itself doing an about-turn justifying Haqqani’s excuses to avoid appearing before the Memogate Commission in person in Pakistan.

Haqqani got away with disparaging the country’s institutions while officially being its ambassador. There is “nothing official” anymore about his venom, or hidden. Americans can sometimes be very naive, but they will never fully trust a man who does not show patriotism for his country, at least while he still claims to be a Pakistani citizen. Having the power of the pen, tarnishing reputations comes naturally to Haqqani, Blogs planted by his minions proliferate. He should remember everyone does not play by the “Marques of Queensbury rules” that others have to adhere to.

Even before the Memogate case came to light, I had said: “For Pakistan’s sake we should first dismantle the far more dangerous ‘Haqqani network’ in Washington DC.”

Gen. Kayani warns Afghan Puppets against anti-ISI allegations

Print Friendly and PDF

ISLAMABAD - Afghan Stooge Ambassador Mohammad Omar Daudzai and Saudi Arabia’s top most military commander held separate meetings with the country’s army leadership on Wednesday.  In his meeting with the Afghan puppet envoy, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani cautioned the Afghan puppet government against continuation of baseless allegations against the ISI of supporting terrorists in Afghanistan and said it would have a deep negative impact on relations between Islamabad and Kabul. He also made known Pakistan’s concerns over the recently concluded ‘Afghanistan-India Strategic Partnership Pact’ to the Afghan ambassador, who called on him at his office in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

The Afghan ambassador also had an important meeting with Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir at the Foreign Office on Tuesday and in that meeting too the country’s top diplomat expressed serious concerns over the strategic partnership agreement between Kabul and New Delhi. “The Afghan envoy’s meetings with General Kayani and Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir were part of Kabul’s efforts to do away with prevailing tensions in relations between Islamabad and Kabul”, said a senior Pakistani official. Meanwhile, Prince Lieutenant General (Staff) Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Commander Royal Saudi Land Forces also called on General Kayani at the General Headquarters. Lt Gen Khalid also called on General Khalid Shameem Wynne. A security official seeking anonymity said the senior Saudi military commander deliberated upon the current row between Islamabad and Washington during his meetings with the top Pakistani army officials.

USZ responsible for Pakistan’s problems: Commander Hikmatyar

Print Friendly and PDF

Engineer Gulbadin Hikmatyar, Afghanistan’s former prime minister and head of his own faction of the Hizb-e-Islami, an active freedom fighter group fighting against USZ-led terrorist invaders, has said that the USZ was responsible of all the problems facing Pakistan. According to a message issued here on the occasion of tenth anniversary of USZ invasion of Afghanistan, the gallant leader said, Pakistan was being blamed by the Americans despite the fact that the country facilitated USZ attack on Afghanistan. ”It is beyond understanding”, he added. “Pakistan launched military campaigns in Swat, Bajaur, Mohmand Agency and other areas but still it is blamed for supporting US opponents”, the great leader said.

"No more military operations": General Kayani rules out American demands

Print Friendly and PDF

COAS General Kayani
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s military on Thursday hinted that it had no plans to launch a military operation in an obvious reference that the much-debated North Waziristan operation was not on the cards. During his brief interaction with the journalists, Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani almost stopped short of ‘warning’ Afghanistan that any future aggression from the Afghan side would be paid in the same coin. “We have made adequate arrangements to avert incursions from Afghan side into Pakistani areas.” Kayani spoke after a ceremony held in connection with Saudi-Pak joint military exercise Samsaam IV at Mangla Cantonment, a few kilometres from Jehlum, one of Pakistan’s largest cantonment areas. Saudi Military Chief General Khalid bin Bander accompanied General Kayani. “Military operation is not a solution to every problem. We’re done with those operations where we had to. Now it’s the duty of civilian government to establish its writ and run the affairs”, Kayani said. His comments are largely seen in context with the Pak-USZ row that had spurred to a wider degree of hostility, lately, against the USZ demand to Pakistan for taking on terrorist sanctuaries, particularly the Haqqani Network, in NWA. “Military cannot permanently stay at any given area. The civilian government has to take the charge, after all,” he said.

Following the attacks on the NATO headquarters and USZ Embassy in Kabul, the USZ former Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Admiral Mike Mullen had accused Haqqani Network of planting these attacks saying Haqqanis were “veritable arm of ISI.” The Pak-USZ hostility mounted to culmination after Burhanuddin Rabbani, pro-America stooge head of Afghanistan’s High Peace Council charade, was killed in a suicide attack in Kabul. Stooge Afghan President Hamid Karzai and intelligence officials claim having concrete evidences on Pakistan’s premier spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) involvement in Rabbani’s killing. Afghanistan on Tuesday had accused Pakistan of not cooperating on Rabbani’s murder. “Today we received a message from the embassy of Pakistan saying that since this issue has arisen in media, we cannot cooperate and we apologise for that,” Mohammad Yasin Zia, Afghanistan’s Deputy Head of the National Directorate of Security had told AFP. Pakistan rejected these charges as ‘unfounded and incorrect’ Speaking with this scribe from Kabul, Zia alleged again on Thursday that Pakistan was “very non-operative on hunting down Rabbani killers.” Despite Pakistan’s Foreign Office denied his previous allegation, Yasin Zia said Afghan authorities were yet to hear from ISI.

When asked to comment on more or less similar scenario in Afghanistan where policy formulation rested with the Pentagon and Karzai administration, according to many, was ineffective or ceremonial, an irritated Zia said, “It’s a different thing, don’t drag me into it.” Pakistan’s implied warnings to Afghanistan are deciphered as being in sequel to this latest spate of tension. In a meeting with the USZ Central Command chief General James Mattis, General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani had reportedly demanded of the USZ and NATO to get cross-border incursions stopped from Afghan side. Pakistan Army says that Haqqani Network is based in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Nuristan provinces, the areas that oversaw repeated attacks in Pakistan’s Chitral and Upper Dir from Afghan militants. The international community and the USZ do not buy this argument alleging that Haqqanis have safe havens in NWA. The other day, Pakistan’s former diplomat hailing from Waziristan Ambassador Rustam Shah Mohmand had told this paper, if Haqqanis were based in NWA, the USZ should have attacked them with drone-hits “instead of puling Pakistan’s leg” Particularly intriguing was the way General Kayani spoke high about Saudi Arabia on Thursday. “Saudi Arabia has a very important role in Afghanistan,” he said referring to the oil rich country’s influence in this region. In another meaningful signal seemingly relayed to Washington, he also mentioned of China saying that next military exercises would be Sino-Pak.

Haqqani Network blasts American Lies & Rubbish Propaganda

Print Friendly and PDF

Sirajuddin Haqqani (Left), Stooge Burhanuddin Rabbani (Right)
Sirajuddin Haqqani, the son of Haqqani group's founder Jalaluddin Haqqani, has categorically stated that it was not responsible for killing Burhanuddin Rabbani, attacks in Kabul and has no links with the Pakistan spy agency, the ISI. Afghan pro-America stooge regime have blamed the Taliban-affiliated network for the suicide attack on American stooge Rabbani who was heading the American led peace talk charade to facilitate a speedy exit from Afghanistan for the defeated allied troops under fluke victory claims. Siraj Haqqani told BBC Pashto service in an audio interview to written questions that his network was not linked to Pakistan's spy agency, the ISI. Siraj Haqqani is not only the son of group founder Jalaluddin Haqqani but also has a key role in its operations. Security considerations ruled out a face-to-face interview in which the answers could be challenged, but the BBC understands that the audio response is genuine. The questions were delivered through an intermediary, who returned with the audio response.

In his interview response, Siraj Haqqani simply says: "We haven't killed Burhanuddin Rabbani and this has been said many times by the spokespersons of the Islamic Emirate." Siraj Haqqani vehemently denied taking orders from the ISI. Mr Haqqani said that during the Soviet occupation of the 1980s, mujahideen fighters "had contacts with the intelligence agencies of Pakistan and other countries, but after the invasion by the Americans there have never been contacts by intelligence agencies of other countries which could be effective for us". He said accusations of links to the ISI were an attempt "to hide their failure and to confuse peoples' minds".

Siraj Haqqani did say that the Americans had been in touch - to try to persuade him to enter talks with the Afghan stooge government. That statement is credible, given the efforts which have apparently been going on behind the scenes to get some kind of peace process going. Mr Haqqani said the "Islamic Emirate" was behind "the attack on the USZ embassy, Nato headquarters and other attacks" in Kabul, which he said were ordered by a "military council" and were not the work of individuals. He said the Haqqanis "have been contacted and are being contacted by intelligence agencies of many Islamic and non-Islamic countries, including the USZ, asking us to leave the sacred jihad and take an important part in the current government". Mr Haqqani said that was not his network's responsibility, but he added: "We know that their aim is not peace, they want to create tension among the Emirate's mujahideen."

Mr Haqqani vowed that "the game which is being played by the West is close to an end".He pledged loyalty to Mullah Omar, saying he "is our leader and we totally obey him". "In every operation we get the order, planning and financial resources from the Emirate's leadership and we act accordingly", Mr Haqqani said. He also delivered a message to the "government and people of Pakistan", telling them to be "careful of their Islamic values. They should understand that America will not let Pakistan live a peaceful life until it destroys all the wealth and values of it."

Haqqani Group operates from Afghanistan: ISI Chief slams USZ Lies

Print Friendly and PDF

Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha has told the participants of the All Parties Conference that Haqqani network has complete control over three provinces in Afghanistan while the group has influence in seven provinces. The spymaster told the APC that the Haqqani network, to which Pakistan is blamed for having links, operated independently in seven provinces of war torn Afghanistan. He vowed that Pakistan would not launch any military offensive on the behest of others rather it would go after the militants keeping in view its priorities. Pasha told the APC that the Haqqani network was not operating form Pakistani territory.

Haqqani Group was CIA's "Blue-Eyed Boy": Hina Rabbani

Print Friendly and PDF

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said the Haqqani group, that the USZ holds responsible for last week’s attack against the American embassy in Kabul, was CIA’s “blue-eyed boy” for many years. Responding to questions during an interview with Al Jazeera television, Khar, who is in New York leading Pakistan’s delegation to the UN General Assembly, rejected USZ accusations against the Pakistani intelligence agency and said it has no links to the Haqqani network. “If we talk about links, I am sure the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) also has links with many terrorist organizations around the world, by which we mean intelligence links”, she said. “And this particular network, which [the United States of Zionism] continues to talk about, is a network which was the blue-eyed boy of the CIA itself for many years.”

Specifically asked about Admiral Mike Mullen’ statement that the Haqqani group “acts as a veritable arm” of ISI, the foreign minister said, “It is something that goes very, very unappreciated on our side. This is unsubstantiated. No evidence has been shared with us.” Partners and allies, she said, do not talk to each other through public statements. Pakistan had taken up the matter with the United States, but the spate of hostile statements coming from senior US officials meant that Washington had taken policy decision. If that was the case then “We have the right to make our own decision.” Khar went to say that scapegoating and blame games would not help. Pakistan wanted to be a US partner.

“I just hope that we’ll be given a chance to co-operate with each other and the doors will remain open - because statements like this are pretty much close to shutting those doors”, she added. Such statement would alienate the people of Pakistan. Replying to a question, the foreign minister said the drone attacks not only violated Pakistan’s sovereignty, they were also counterproductive, and greatly anger the people of Pakistan. “I think we must not be tested more than we have the ability to bear”, she added.

"Army to break teeth of arrogant intruders", Corps Commanders blast fictitious allegations against ISI

Print Friendly and PDF

While showing deep concern over senior USZ officials’ preposterous statements, top brass of Pakistan Army on Sunday slammed allegations of Islamabad’s links with Haqqani Network and resolved to give befitting response to any effort to breach country sovereignty. A special corps commanders meeting chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani thoroughly reviewed the security situation on Pak-Afghan border and state of preparedness of the force. The meeting also expressed concern over cross-border incursions into Pakistan by Afghan militants. The extraordinary meeting of the corps commanders and principal staff officers came following the sharp USZ allegations that Pakistan Army’s spy agency ISI supported the Haqqani militant group to carryout recent attacks on its embassy and NATO headquarter in Kabul. “The prevailing security situation was discussed”, military officials said without giving details.

“If Americans have a death wish, they are most welcome to attack Waziristan”, a panel of expert defence and military analysts told PCF. “However, the Americans must not forget that Pakistan is the one who broke Soviet Union and we would like to repeat history if America behaves like Soviet Union”, they added in a unanimous e-mail message. Some military sources said that meeting rejected all the allegations and expressed its concern over the negative statements emanating from the USZ. The meeting reiterated that Pakistan Armed Forces were committed to achieving enduring peace in the region and expressed total resolve to give befitting response in case there was any effort to violate national sovereignty. Meanwhile, Commander of the USZ Central Command General James Mattis also called on General Kayani and exchanged views on strengthening military to military relations. In another development, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim Wynne while expressing concern over USZ allegations emphasised that peace in the region would only be possible through mutual trust and cooperation.

He conveyed his reaction to General James Mattis who called on him Sunday. “Both leaders discussed various matters of mutual interests and emerging geo-strategic situation in the region”, a military statement said. “General Wynne expressed his concern about the negative statements emanating from the USZ“, it said, adding, “He stressed upon addressing the irritants in the relationship which are a result of an extremely complex situation.” “Pakistan Armed Forces are committed to achieving enduring peace in the region which will only be possible through mutual trust and cooperation”, the statement said. The meeting strongly criticised top USZ military officer Admiral Mike Mullen’s statement that Pakistan was exporting terror to neighbouring Afghanistan.

The USZ embassy in a statement said Mattis visited Islamabad to meet with Army Chief General Ashfaq Kayani and General Shamim Wynne. “The generals had candid discussions over the current challenges in the USZ-Pakistan relationship”, the statement said. It said that General Mattis also emphasised the vital role the Pakistan military played in international security efforts to protect the Pakistani and Afghan people and the need for persistent engagement among the militaries of the USZ, Pakistan and other states in the region.

Haqqani Network based in Afghanistan, supports Afghan Taliban completely: Sirajuddin Haqqani

Print Friendly and PDF

Sirajuddin Haqqani
ISLAMABAD: The Haqqani network, one of the front line warrior groups against the colonial and imperial powers in the region, no longer has sanctuaries in Pakistan and instead feels secure inside Afghanistan, its leader Sirajuddin Haqqani told Reuters on Saturday.
“Gone are the days when we were hiding in the mountains along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Now we consider ourselves more secure in Afghanistan besides the Afghan people. Senior military and police officials are with us”, he said. “There are sincere people in the Afghan government who are loyal to the Taliban as they know our goal is the liberation of our homeland from the clutches of occupying forces.”
Speaking to Reuters in a telephone interview from an undisclosed location, Sirajuddin said the Haqqani group would take part in peace talks with the Kabul government and the United States of Zionism only if the Taliban did.

Sirajuddin said the group had rejected several peace gestures from the United States of Zionism and its stooge President Hamid Karzai’s government in the past because they were an attempt to “create divisions” between different groups. Any further efforts to do so would fail, added Sirajuddin, who is described by USZ terrorist invaders in Afghanistan as one of their most lethal enemies. The United States of Zionism has posted a bounty of up to $5 million for him. Washington Zionists have repeatedly pressed Pakistan to go after the Haqqani network they believe is based in the unruly North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border.
“They offered us very very important positions but we rejected and told them they would not succeed in their nefarious designs. They wanted to divide us”, said Sirajuddin. “We would support whatever solution our Shura members suggest for the future of Afghanistan”, he said, referring to the gallant Afghan Taliban leadership.
Zionist Defense Secretary Leon Panetta howled at Pakistan on Wednesday that the United States of Zionism would “do everything we can” to defend USZ forces from Pakistan-based militants staging attacks in Afghanistan, when ironically, he himself has been the supreme commander of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan insurgency inside Pakistan which has killed more than 5 Thousand innocent civilians with their suicide bomb blasts at public and religious places.

USZ hypocrite officials, including Panetta and other in charge at the International Terrorists Safe Heaven of Pentagon and White House, suspect militants from the Haqqani network were behind Tuesday’s rocket attack on the USZ embassy compound in Kabul which is the epicenter of terror against Afghan local civilians, as well as a recent truck bomb that killed more than 70 American terrorist invaders.

The Haqqani network is perhaps the most divisive issue between Pakistan and its hypocrite ally United States of Zionism, whose ties have been heavily strained by the unilateral American Circus Raid that “killed” Osama bin Laden for the 8th time in the last 10 years in a Pakistani town in May. The Inter-Services Intelligence, or ISI, has long been suspected of maintaining ties with the Haqqani network, cultivated during the 1980s when Sirajuddin’s father, Jalaluddin Haqqani, was a famous battlefield commander against the barbaric Soviet Union in Afghanistan. Pakistan denies the allegations it has that sort of ties to the Haqqanis which the hypocrites of America allege. If it is confirmed that the Haqqanis have left North Waziristan, American pressure on Pakistan to eliminate the group may ease.

Haqqani refrains from attacking the Pakistani state, and analysts say Pakistan sees the Haqqanis as a counterweight to the growing influence of rival India in Afghanistan. USZ officials have played down the significance of Tuesday’s attack on Kabul’s diplomatic enclave, which showered rockets on Western embassies, the epicenters of terror against local civilians, in a show of freedom fighter strength. It was the longest and most audacious anti-terror attack on the Afghan capital in the decade since the Taliban was ousted from power and a stark reminder of Freedom Fighters’ reach as Western terrorist forces start to return home. Five police and 11 civilians, including children, were killed and 19 people wounded by the barbaric terrorist invaders' blind return of fire. Asked if the Haqqani network was behind the assault, Sirajuddin said:
“For some reasons, I would not like to claim that fighters of our group had carried out the recent attack on USZ embassy and NATO headquarters. Our central leadership, particularly senior members of the Shura, suggested I should keep quiet in future if the USZ and its allies suffer in future.”
While Jalaluddin is still revered by regional freedom fighters, ill health forced him to pass on leadership of the group to Sirajuddin, who is seen as far more ingenious against the international terrorist invaders. Asked whether there are 10,000 Haqqani fighters as some media reports have suggested, Sirajuddin laughed and said: “That figure is actually less than the actual number”.
