The Israeli regime’s military has been caught using British-manufactured JCB machinery to demolish Palestinians’ property, according to media reports.
British-manufactured JCB machinery were used by the Israeli army to demolish a Palestinian community center and a children’s playground in occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem), theElectronic Intifada reported.
According to the report, the center was the only public space and playground for the Palestinian residents of the Wadi Hilweh area of Silwan, a neighborhood of East al-Quds adjacent to the Old City.
The Israeli demolition of Palestinian property in occupied East al-Quds is a violation of the Fourth Geneva Conventions. Moreover, the Israeli regime denies Palestinian children their right to play by demolishing the only playground in Wadi Hilweh area. By ratifying the Convention in 1991, the Israeli regime is obligated to obey the directives of the Convention.
Meanwhile, British-manufactured JCB machines were seen in action demolishing two homes, a mosque and a barn in Umm Fagarah on November 24th last year. The village is located in the South al-Khalil Hills in the occupied West Bank. On 20 June 2011, JCB machines were used to destroy the village of Bir al-Eid in the South al-Khalil Hills.
British manufacturer JCB company’s headquarters is based in Rochester in the United Kingdom.
