RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army on Monday celebrated
‘Martyrs Day’ to commemorate the sacrifices of the military men who laid
down their lives in the line of duty and organised ‘Yaadgaar-e-Shuahada
Parade’ at General Headquarters in this connection.Speaking on the
occasion, Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said the roles to be performed by organs of state
are clearly mentioned in the constitution. The COAS paid profound
homage to the army men and civilians who were buried in Gayari sector
Skardu due to last month’s deadly avalanche that swept military’s
regimental headquarter in the area and said that Pakistan Army was
determined to continue with rescue efforts till the soldiers’ bodies
were fully recovered. “Our brave men are fighting extreme weather
conditions up above 13000 feet only to safeguard their motherland. I
salute them. They are sons of the soil. I promise you, we’ll continue
with Gayari operation till each and every body buried down there is
recovered. No matter what it takes.”
The military’s top man spoke high
about Pakistan’s ideology saying, “We as nation can only succeed if we
have full faith and believe in Pakistan’s ideology. Creating suspicions
in this belief is tantamount to weakening Pakistan.” Gen Kayani recalled
last year’s Abbottabad operation as well as attack on Selala picket that
killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. He said that certain elements were
propagating against Pakistan Army. “Despite these sacrifices, certain
circles are out to malign the military. But the army is united to foil
any attempt that aims at destabilising this country. We have strived our
utmost to safeguard Pakistan and will keep doing so”, he said. “The way
Pakistani nation has stood by its army is really commendable and heart
touching. We are deeply thankful to our nation and we reiterate that
Pakistan Army would live up to the nations’ expectations.”
Kayani
particularly recalled the sacrifices rendered by Frontier Corps (FC),
Frontier Constabulary (FC), Rangers and Police saying that Pakistan’s
security forces were ready to pay ‘every price it takes in the
motherland’s defence.’ Gen Kayani said Pakistan is facing grave security
challenges and its armed forces, security forces and the people were
united to sabotage every move against Pakistan. “Together we would
defeat every challenge”, the army chief resolved. “Martyrdom is a very
noble achievement. Those who have embraced it are lucky and our support,
prayers and condolences are with the bereaved families. The blood of
the martyrs calls us to stay united. Together we can make Pakistan a
strong and welfare state.” The general also spoke high of the
international community and those countries that sent their rescue teams
to Gayari in order to assist Pakistan Army. Giving background of
the Martyrs Day, Gen Kayani said, the Day was dedicated to the martyrs
three years ago. “Since then, we celebrate the Martyrs Day annually to
pay homage to our great men who have given their blood for this
country.”
QUETTA –Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry has admonished authorities of
the four provinces over undue delay in holding of local bodies (LB)
elections. Heading a three-member SC bench at Quetta registry on Monday,
the chief justice said that after 18th amendment, the local bodies have
completely come within the domain of provinces but despite lapse of a
long period LB polls have not been conducted. “The governments cannot
violate the constitution for even single minute but local bodies
elections are not being hold for a long period… if you have already
decided to violate the constitution, which is being done by you, the
court will not play the role of a silent spectator”, he remarked. All the
four provincial governments apprised the court they have principally
decided to conduct local bodies (LG) polls soon. Sindh Advocate General
Fateh Malik told the bench that Sindh government would conduct LB polls
by October this year.
Kybar Pakhtunkhwa AG Asadullah Khan also apprised
the court about his province’s preparations for the polls. Balochistan
Advocate General Amanullah Kanrani said that Balochistan was ready to
conduct LB elections; however, it wanted to hold it along with other
provinces. At this, chief justice said that Balochistan was facing more
problems than other provinces so, instead of waiting for others, it
should go for the polls at the earliest. On the occasion, Punjab Advocate
General Ashtar Ausaf apprised the court about the difficulties and
hurdles they were facing in holding local bodies polls. The chief
justice remarked that Punjab government was required to conduct LB polls
much earlier, pointing out that even Balochistan government, which was
facing serious security problem, was all set to hold the elections.
Punjab AG admitted Balochistan was first province to legislate in this
connection.
The chief justice said that amendments in law was “yours
responsibility” and, "If any citizen approaches the court with a plea
that government is not adhering to constitution… then action could be
taken against such government". After hearing the stance of advocate
generals of the four provinces, the bench observed that governments of
all provinces have principally committed to fulfill their constitutional
obligation and they have pledged to hold local bodies elections as soon
as possible. However, they have apprised the bench of some problems in
conducting the polls thus a thorough consultation would be made before
next date of hearing, he added. Issuing notice to Chief Election
Commissioner, the bench said that the court be apprised about the
voters’ lists on next date of hearing. Enticing Fury
China successfully launched two satellites into space for its
Beidou global navigation and positioning network, Xinhua news agency
reported on Monday, referring to the launch center. The Beidou-2
satellites, launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the
southwestern province of Sichuan at 4:50 a.m. Beijing Time Monday, were
lifted into space by a Long March-3B carrier rocket and have entered the
scheduled orbit. It is the first time China has launched two
navigation satellites, the 12th and 13th of its indigenous global
navigation and positioning network, with one rocket.
“The two
satellites will help improve the accuracy of the Beidou, or Compass
system,” the agency quoted the center as saying in a statement. China
will launch three more satellites for the Beidou network this year and
its global satellite positioning and navigation system will be completed
in 2020 with more than 30 orbiters. Beidou currently provides
navigation services within China and the neighboring regions. After
completion, the project would become an equivalent of the USZ Global
Positioning System (GPS), Russia's Glonass, and Europe's Galileo.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan may
boycott the upcoming NATO summit in Chicago in retaliation for the latest USZ drone attack
in North Waziristan Agency, officials said. This was the first such
attack since parliament last month approved new guidelines on relations
with the United States of Zionism, which included a call for an end to drone
strikes in Pakistani territory. A statement issued by the Foreign Office denounced the latest strike as “a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty”.“Such attacks are in total contravention of international law and
established norms of interstate relations”, it added. The matter would
be taken up through diplomatic channels both in Islamabad and
Washington.
A senior government official revealed that
Pakistan was contemplating a number of options to convey a strong
message on drone strikes to the USZ. One such option includes pulling out
of the Chicago summit scheduled for May. USZ Special Terrorist Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman
did request Pakistan during his recent trip to attend
the summit, said the official. The official however did not say that his higher ups in President and Prime Minister house didn't have the authority granted to them from American Embassy to allow Pakistan Air Force to shoot down terror drones.
Natural disasters such as the
earthquake in Kashmir in 2005 and the floods throughout the country in
2008. It was often impossible or impractical to arrange individual
burials, so mass graves were resorted to.
Wars between nations or conflicts between various groups within a country.
The 25,000 deaths resulting from the Indian Ocean tsunami of December
2004 and the uncountable casualties caused by the earthquakes in Agadir
and Skopje are still remembered. Sometimes there is no alternative but
to bury the dead in mass graves.
Now let us look at some of the atrocities of the recent past. The first that comes to mind is World War II,
which was started by Hitler. His most abhorrent and dastardly act was
the detention, starvation and gassing of Jews, who were mostly innocent
and patriotic citizens. Their bodies were either incinerated or interred
in mass graves.
Similarly, during the three-year siege of Leningrad by Field Marshal
Paulus, millions of Russians died due to bombardments, hunger and
disease. Again, individual burials were not possible. The same was the
case in Japan after the nuclear attacks by the Americans. Twenty years
ago we witnessed the genocide of Bosnian Muslims and Croats by the
savage Serbs. Almost 250,000 innocent people were slaughtered and
thousands were secretly buried in mass graves, some of which are still
to be traced. Then there were Liberia, Rwanda and Burundi.
Why have I brought up this subject? To draw your attention to the bloody revolutions in France, Russia, China and Iran and to trace their relevance to our situation. These revolutions
took place because the rulers and their security organisations
brutalised the public while they themselves were enjoying all imaginable
luxuries.
There is a limit to what people can tolerate. When that limit is
reached, even the meek and gentle become ferocious like tigers, as
happened in the countries mentioned above. Those bloody revolutions cost millions of lives, some bodies landing up in mass graves and some were left out to the dogs
and vultures. This kind of reaction is expected from any nation having
any self-respect. Unfortunately, this is a commodity which is scarce in
our country. Not only the rulers guilty, but the public is also to blame
for accepting oppression.
Our rulers are like the strong swimmer who never thinks that he could drown or the racing car
driver who believes that no accident will befall him. They too believe
that nothing will happen to them even though, just in the recent past,
we witnessed the downfall of Ayub Khan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir
Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif and Musharraf.
Even more striking examples are those of Iran, Libya and Iraq. The
rulers of those countries behaved like pharaohs – masters of life and
death of their subjects – and treating them like slaves. Opponents were
simply abducted and then quietly made to disappear. The Iranian
intelligence agency, Savak, was particularly notorious, even more than
our own ISI.
But then the Divine struck through the people. They had had enough, took
power into their own hands under the leadership of Ayatollah Khomeini
and left no place for their rulers to hide. Some of their leaders
managed to flee but died in disgrace on foreign soil. The people’s court
under Ayotollah Khalkhali took revenge for all the cruelties
perpetrated upon them. The ruling clique, the generals, Savak officers,
all were hung and Iran started out with a clean slate. Since then nobody
has dared infringe on the rights of the people.
Similar scenes were witnessed in Libya, Iraq and Egypt. Now the Turks are taking the old military dictators to task, as I am sure Musharraf will be taken to task too one day.
Some days ago I was startled to read an item in The News in which the
correspondent wrote about his apprehensions that, under the prevailing
conditions, the suffering masses might take on the army,
considering it to have been a partner in all the dirty games played by
the rulers. That is what this whole column is about. There are millions
of guns out there and our people know how to use them. The army and other law-enforcing agencies hardly make up two percent of the population.
If the current trend of unemployment, load shedding of electricity and gas, inflated cost of living
and suicides persists, the 180 million people of our country will have
no option but to take matters into their own hands. This would result in
atrocities like leaders being tied to jeeps and being dragged through
the streets. Some would land up with ropes around their necks while
others would be shot. Many would die.
It needs to be stressed that the rulers should not be under the illusion
that nothing can happen to them. Sooner or later something will,
because the institutions have failed the masses.
The rulers have been living like kings, but they have not bothered about
the ordinary people. That is why I am talking about mass graves. If
such a revolt takes place, there will definitely be need for mass
graves. Many may even be left lying dead and bloated on the streets with
nobody willing to touch them, as happened to Abu Lahab.
Here are some Divine Edicts relative to such situations from Glorious Qur'an:
Such were the Aad people. They rejected the signs of their Lord and
Cherisher, disobeyed His apostles and followed the command of every
powerful, obstinate transgressor and they were pursued by a curse in
this life and on the Day of Judgment. (11:59-60)
When we decide to destroy a population, we first send a definite
order to those among them who are given the good things of this life and
yet transgress, so that the word is proved true against them. Then it
is We who destroy them utterly. (17:16)
Thus have We placed leaders in every town (nation), its wicked men to
plot (and burrow) therein. But they only plot against their own souls
and they perceive it not. (6:123)
Let this be a warning to all, without discrimination. Such a situation
can easily arise and will probably happen if present conditions persist.
It is advisable for all parties to consider the issue of their own mass
graves, otherwise their corpses might become food for vultures and/or
their skeletons dragged through the streets by stray dogs.
Florida: Cursed Zionist controversial United States
of Zionism (USZ) pastor Terry Jones has burned more copies of the Glorious Qur'an and a
depiction of the Prophet Mohammad (s.a.ww) to protest the imprisonment in Iran of a Christian clergyman, media reported on Sunday. According to reports, the Zionist Jones and another
cursed pastor, who carried out their protest in front of their church in
Gainesville, Florida on Saturday, demanded the release of Christian
pastor Youcef Nadarkhani from an Iranian prison. Jones began to burn copies of the ultimate divine guidance for the whole of Humanity, the Glorious Qur'an and an image supposedly depicting Prophet Mohammad (s.a.ww) in front of
his church, as seen in a 38 minute-long video on the website of Jones’
organization, Stand Up America Now.
About 20 people attended Saturday’s
burning. Several Gainesville police officers were stationed across the
street from the church. Moments after the ceremony, the
Gainesville fire department issued the church a citation for violating
the city’s fire ordinances. Jones was then handed a $271 fine, which included court costs. He was fined because the Florida city of
Gainesville has “restrictive fire ordinances”, which dictate that
“books cannot be burned without authorization because of environmental
concerns over the burning of glue and bindings in books”, the local fire
chief said. Earlier the Pentagon urged Jones to
reconsider, expressing concern that American soldiers in Afghanistan and
elsewhere could be put at greater risk because of the act.
In March 2011, Jones’ assistant, pastor Wayne Sapp, burned a copy of the Glorious Qur'an and broadcast the ceremony on the internet. The images incited violence in northern Afghanistan, in which at least 12 people were killed. Later, a man wearing an Afghan border police uniform shot dead two several USZ terrorist invaders.
Most of the conversation I'm presenting today happened on 23rd April 2012.
Please read the first part of Mubasher Lucman VS Hamid Mir before reading
this one otherwise it would be difficult to get this one! Thanks
Here is a snapshot of the poll you
will find on the right hand side of my blog. So far this is the result.
But please do caste your vote once you are done reading this post.
The messages exchanged on 24th April
were very interesting. You are about to see some very serious yet
interesting stuff. In my opinion this part 2 is far more fascinating than the part 1 and reveals something really big as is going down between journalists. Before I jump on Mubasher Lucman and
Hamid Mir, I missed a very interesting tweet from part 1 between Sheikh
Rashid and Hamid Mir.
Hamid Mir: "Musharraf ordered
private TV cahnnels not to invite Imran Khan only Geo was inviting him
once Sheikh Raashid walked out due to IK"
Here is the tweet.
Most of you might think Sheikh
Rashid can't be on twitter but surprisingly , he is and even more
interestingly someone forwarded this message of Hamid Mir to Sheikh
Rashid and guess what, he even replied saying what Hamid Mir claimed is
not true. Here is his tweet.
Hamid Mir also posted another tweet about Musharraf. Hamid Mir: "Musharraf invited me many times to Dubai i refused because he declared me traitor wdout evidence"
Here is his tweet.
Sheikh Rashid again tweeted, asking for the footage.
I'm not sure If Hamid Mir responded
to Sheikh Rashid's footage tweet or he just posted another tweet saying I
can air the clip in which Imran Khan attacked Musharraf and Sheikh
Rashid just walked out from my show in protest! Here is his tweet.
Sheikh Rashid also posted the same links that Mubasher Lucman posted yesterday. Please click here
to see those links. I posted it on my previous blog. After posting
multiple links I don't think there was any conversation between Hamid
Mir and Sheikh Rashid.
Now lets get back to the main topic.
Mubasher Lucman VS Hamid Mir. This is the first tweet, where Hamid Mir
claims clearly that he did take interview of OBL and he didn't fool
anyone.
Here is another tweet from Hamid Mir, directly responding to the allegations raised by Mubaher Lucman.
The link Hamid Mir posted in his tweet is given below:
Hamid says there is no cure of
jealousy and "black sheep of media will be exposed soon right after from
Dunya to Express and from ARY to Geo". Below are his tweets:
Mubasher Lucman directly replied to the last tweet of Hamid Mir where he says:
It is around 2:30 am and that is all
from Hamid Mir. He did not reply to Mubasher Lucman's last tweet.
Mubasher Lucman also posted some other very interesting posts but before
I start with Mubasher let me show you a post from Dr. Shahid Masood.
This is my own assumption and I may be wrong here but I think Dr. Shahid
is referring to Hamid Mir here as he did a lot of shows on missing
persons but has largely ignored the Karachi law and order situation
where 100s of people have been killed.
Here is a link posted by Mubasher Lucman.
Mubasher also posted a link which I didn't read but here is the link:
PBS: Old Hash
Mubasher again reiterates that Hamid Mir didn't come back to him.
Now this is serious stuff guys. I am not sure if Mubasher Lucman is referring to Hamid Mir here but this tweet is pretty serious. Have a look:
Mubaher further tweeted:
Responding to someone's suggestion that he should do a program with Shaheen Sehbai and Dr. Shahid Masood, he replies:
Someone else replying to Mubasher
that the interview was fake and Hamid Gul also confirmed it. Not sure if
its true but here is the tweet:
Someone else posted this link and Mubasher Lucman retweeted it.
And the link:
Here are two more tweets from Mubasher:
Now, another very serious tweet from Mubasher: Not sure who he is referring to. Have a look:
After reading all this stuff and
making this blog, I am seriously having a headache. Don't know who to
believe anymore. This is all messed up!
Mubasher posted several links and a video, all are listed below:
Here reponding to someone's tweet and clearly saying "He is guilty as hell". Have a look:
Now this is getting even more
interesting. Mubasher tweets, where he is talking about an apartment. I
wonder whose apartment could it be! Here is the tweet.
WOW! Mubasher is on fire! Look at the following 4 tweets. The first one:
The second one:
The third one:
Finally, the fourth one:
Here responding to a tweet:
Two more tweets. Hope I am not boring you
Ok so this is the last tweet for
Mubasher Lucman VS Mahid Mir! Honestly, I didn't get this one. Please
post your comment below if you get it and let me know what it might
mean. Have a look:
Shaheen Sehbai, Cafe Pyala & Hussain Haqqani:
In my first post, Shaeen Sehbai (The
News International Group Editor) supported Mubasher Lucman regarding
Hamid Mir. See the tweet below:
This claim of Shaheen Sehbai was contradicted by someone on twitter with the name "Cafe Pyala" See the tweet below:
Also there was a confusion on "HH"
in Shaheen Sehbai post. Here Cafe Pyala asks this question to Shaheen
Sehbai but I think Shaheen did not respond. Also in this tweet Shaheen
confessed that he may be wrong!. Have a look:
Have a look at this interesting
tweet where Hussain Haqqani jumps in and says that the editor of the
Dawn was Saleem Asmi during Nov 2011 not Ahmed Ali as Shaheen Sehbai
said in his tweet(see above).
Okay,
I also have a clarification from Cafe Pyala about the mysterious "HH"
in the Shaheen Sehbai tweet. Before I share that let me share a very
funny tweet which is a bit true as well as I myself found it hard to
read Sehbai's tweet! Sorry Shaheen sir if you mind it!
Now the clarification from Cafe Pyala. See below:
OK
before I move on to the villa in Dubai. Here is another interesting
tweet. It says that the reason Mubaser Lucman infuriated by Hamid Mir is
because of some comments passed by HM(assuming Hamid Mir) against
anchors who have no experience of field reporting. Have a look at this
tweet:
Dr. Shahid Masood and the the mysterious Villa in Dubai:
Now here are some pretty interesting
tweets from Dr. Shahid Masood. Let me show you this first one. I think I
know who Dr. Shahid is referring to but I leave it to your
imaginations. Post comment below to let me know who you think Dr. Shahid
is talking about. Have a look:
Ok, another interesting one. I think I posted it above but let me post it again. Again, guess who Dr. Shahid is referring to:
One more tweet and then I will show
you Dubai Villa tweet. Have a look at this one first. It will help you
to understand Dr. Shahid's thinking.
Now, the Villa in Dubai tweet. Look at these 2 tweets by Dr. Shahid Masood and guess who got the villa:
Few more interesting tweets from Dr. Shahid where he is explaining why left channels and freedom of media. have a look.
In the next tweet Dr. Shahid looks a
bit angry and says that he is not jealous and says Lanat to those who
build palaces on Rizq-e-Haram. I think, he is referring to Hamid Mir
here. I may be completely wrong. The reason I believe it's Hamid is
because Hamid earlier posted similar sort of tweet. I have posted
Hamid's tweet above but will post here again. Lets first look at Dr.
Shahid's tweet:
Now lets have a look at Hamid Mir's tweet where he also talks about jealousy
Another very interesting tweet by Dr. Shahid Masood where he is replying to Mubasher Lucman.
To my understanding, this is where
Dr. Shahid is telling that its not easy to come up on TV and expose
others. This is my understanding and I might be wrong. Please do post
comments below to tell me what it means.
Okay! finally the last tweet of this blog. Dr. Shahid Masood talks about the villa in Dubai again!
