Lahore High Court orders Building of Kalabagh Dam with Immediate Effect

Lahore: In a landmark decision, Lahore High Court has ordered building of the controversial Kalabagh Dam with immediate effect.

In its verdict, the court said that it was the responsibility of the government under article 154 of the constitution to build the dam. It further said that the decision was given in the light of the 1991 verdict of Council of Common Interests. The court called upon the government to act on the recommendations and order and do the needful.
