NATO forces kill a Pakistani soldier, injure 3


NORTH WAZIRISTAN AGENCY - A Pakistani security personnel was killed while three others got injured in North Waziristan Agency when NATO troops fired mortars at a check post on Wednesday. The NATO troops fired nine mortars at around 12:00 p.m. from Afghanistan at paramilitary forces deployed at Bangi Dar check post, tehsil Ghulam Khan, some 15 Km in the northwest of Miranshah. As a result of the attack, Pervez Khan was martyred while three others were injured and rushed to the nearby hospital.

Pakistani security forces fully retaliated with artillery and light weapons soon after the NATO forces' attack. The cross firing continued for hours, however, no more casualties were reported. Fresh contingent of the troops have also reached the area. Sources said that Afghan troops first fired at least nine mortars at Bangi Dar Check Post on which the Pakistani forces started firing in retaliation. They said the situation remained tense for hours, however there was a complete calm at the time of filing of this story.
