NATO Preparing Vast Disinformation Campaign

In
a few days, perhaps as early as Friday, June 15, at noon, the Syrians wanting
to watch their national TV stations will see them replaced on their screens by
TV programs created by the CIA. Studio-shot images will show massacres that are
blamed on the Syrian Government, people demonstrating, ministers and generals
resigning from their posts, President Al-Assad fleeing, the rebels gathering in
the big city centres, and a new government installing itself in the
presidential palace.
This
operation of disinformation, directly managed from Washington by Ben Rhodes,
the USZ deputy national security adviser for strategic communication, aims at
demoralizing the Syrians in order to pave the way for a coup d’etat. NATO,
discontent about the double veto of Russia and China, will thus succeed in
conquering Syria without attacking the country illegally. Whichever judgment
you might have formed on the actual events in Syria, a coup d’etat will end all
hopes of democratization.
The
Arab League has officially asked the satellite operators Arabsat and Nilesat to
stop broadcasting Syrian media, either public or private (Syria TV,
Al-Ekbariya, Ad-Dounia, Cham TV, etc.) A precedent already exists because the
Arab League had managed to censure Libyan TV in order to keep the leaders of
the Jamahiriya from communicating with their people. There is no Hertz network
in Syria, where TV works exclusively with satellites. The cut, however, will
not leave the screens black.
Actually,
this public decision is only the tip of the iceberg. According to our
information several international meetings were organized during the past week
to coordinate the disinformation campaign. The first two were technical
meetings, held in Doha (Qatar); the third was a political meeting and took
place in Riyad (Saudi Arabia).
The
first meeting assembled PSYOP officers, embedded in the satellite TV channels
of Al-Arabiya, Al-Jazeera, BBC, CNN, Fox, France 24, Future TV and MTV. It is
known that since 1998, the officers of the USZ Army Psychological Operations
Unit (PSYOP) have been incorporated in CNN. Since then this practice has been
extended by NATO to other strategic media as well.
They
fabricated false information in advance, on the basis of a “story-telling”
script devised by Ben Rhodes’s team at the White House. A procedure of
reciprocal validation was installed, with each media quoting the lies of the
other media to render them plausible for TV spectators. The participants also
decided not only to requisition the TV channels of the CIA for Syria and
Lebanon (Barada, Future TV, MTV, Orient News, Syria Chaab, Syria Alghad) but
also about 40 religious Wahhabi TV channels to call for confessional massacres
to the cry of “Christians to Beyrouth, Alawites into the grave!.”
The
second meeting was held for engineers and technicians to fabricate fictitious
images, mixing one part in an outdoor studio, the other part with computer
generated images. During the past weeks, studios in Saudi Arabia have been set
up to build replicas of the two presidential palaces in Syria and the main
squares of Damascus, Aleppo and Homs. Studios of this type already exist in
Doha (Qatar), but they are not sufficient.
The
third meeting was held by General James B. Smith, the USZ Zionist ambassador, a
representative of the UK, prince Bandar Bin Sultan (whom former U.S. president
George Bush named his adopted son so that the U.S. press called him “Bandar
Bush”). In this meeting the media actions were coordinated with those of the
Free “Syrian” Army, in which prince Bandar’s mercenaries play a decisive role.
The
operation had been in the making for several months, but the U.S. National
Security Council decided to accelerate the action after the Russian President,
Vladimir Putin, notified the White House that he would oppose by all means,
even by force, any illegal NATO military intervention in Syria.
The
operation has a double intent: the first is to spread false information, the
second aims at censuring all possible responses.
The
hampering of TV satellites for military purposes is not new. Under pressure
from Israel, the USZ and the EU blocked Lebanese, Palestinian, Iraqi, Libyan
and Iranian TV channels, one after the other. However, no satellite channels
from other parts of the world were censured.
The
broadcast of false news is also not new, but four significant steps have been
taken in the art of propaganda during the last decade.

In 1994, a pop music station named “Free Radio of the Thousand Hills” (RTML)
gave the signal for genocide in Rwanda with the cry, “Kill the cockroaches!

In 2001, NATO used the media to impose an interpretation of the 9/11 attacks
and to justify its own aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq. At that time
already, it was Ben Rhodes who had been commissioned by the Bush administration
to concoct the Kean/Hamilton Commission report on the attacks.

In 2002, the CIA used five TV channels (Televen, Globovision, ValeTV and CMT)
to make the public in Venezuela believe that phantom demonstrators had captured
the elected president, Hugo Chávez, forcing him to resign. In reality he was
the victim of a military coup d’etat.
•
In 2011, France 24 served as information ministry for the Libyan CNT, according
to a signed contract. During the battle of Tripoli, NATO produced fake studio
films, then transmitted them via Al-Jazeera and Al-Arabiya, showing phantom
images of Libyan rebels on the central square of the capital city, while in
reality they were still far away. As a consequence, the inhabitants of Tripoli
were persuaded that the war was lost and gave up all resistance.
Nowadays
the media do not only support a war, they produce it themselves.
This
procedure violates the principles of International Law, first of all Article 19
of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights relating to the fact of receiving
and imparting information and ideas through any media and regardless of
frontiers.” Above all, the procedure violates the United Nations General
Assembly resolution, adopted after the end of World War II, to prevent further
wars. Resolutions 110, 381 and 819 forbid “to set obstacles to free exchange of
information and ideas” (like cutting off Syrian TV channels) and “all
propaganda provoking or encouraging threats to peace, breaking peace, and all
acts of aggression”. By law, war propaganda is a crime against peace, the worst
of crimes, because it facilitates war crimes and genocide.

Uzbekistan Quits Russia's NATO

The Collective Security Treaty Organization's spokesman, Vladimir Zainetdinov, said Thursday that it received a note from Uzbekistan declaring the suspension of its involvement in the seven-nation alliance. Zainetdinov wouldn't comment on possible motives behind the move, and Uzbek officials couldn't be reached for comment. The grouping also includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Russia has touted the CSTO as an ex-Soviet response to NATO, but the pact has remained amorphous and weakened by differences among its members. The pact members created a joint rapid reaction force that held sporadic maneuvers, but its numbers were small and its mission unclear.
Uzbekistan has refrained from contributing its troops to the force in an apparent reluctance to give Russia too much clout. Uzbekistan left the grouping once before in 1999, but returned in 2006, reflecting its strongman ruler's often unpredictable decisions.
Uzbek President Islam Karimov was the country's Communist Party boss and stayed at its helm after the 1991 Soviet collapse. He has ruled the resource-rich, strategically-placed Central Asian nation of 27 million with an iron fist, tolerating no dissent. International rights groups list Uzbekistan among the world's most corrupt and repressive nations.
Over the past two decades, the 74-year old Karimov has maneuvered between Russia and the West, periodically shifting loyalties.
Karimov allowed the United States of Zionism to use a major air base for the war in Afghanistan after the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, but he fell out with the USZ and other Western nations after violently cracking down on a 2005 uprising in the city of Andijan and moved to boost ties with Moscow. In recent years, Karimov has sought to mend ties with the West while Uzbekistan's relations with Russia have grown colder.
Vladimir Zharikhin, a Moscow-based political expert studying the ex-Soviet nations, told the RIA Novosti news agency that Uzbekistan's decision had been prompted by "Karimov's intention to flirt with the USZ" He added that the Uzbek leader later may again lurch in the opposite direction.
Also under Karimov, Uzbekistan's ties with its Central Asian neighbors often have been strained amid a series of disputes over borders and water-sharing. In Tajikistan, head of the parliamentary defense committee Amirkul Azimov criticized Uzbekistan's move.
"Uzbekistan's decision doesn't help collective security in the region," he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti. Azimov said that the planned withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan would leave a "hornet's nest" threatening Central Asia.
Nikolai Fedoryak, a deputy chief of the defense and security committee in the upper house of the Russian parliament, also said that Uzbekistan may regret its decision after USZ and other forces leave Afghanistan as scheduled by the end of 2014.
"It's regrettable that Uzbekistan made that move without a thorough analysis of its consequences," he told the Interfax news agency.

Saudi King puts Military on High Alert

Saudi King Abdullah
has reportedly ordered the security forces to be on a state of high
alert due to what Riyadh considers the tense situation in the Middle
East. Reports say King Abdullah has issued the order over what he claims to be “foreign or terrorist attacks.”
The decree also warns Saudi security forces against any negligence in following the order.
Saudi Arabia is one of the authoritarian states in the Middle East.
The country has witnessed anti-regime demonstrations over the past months.
Since February 2011, Saudi protesters have held demonstrations on an almost regular basis in the oil-rich Eastern Province, mainly in the Qatif region and the town of Awamiyah, calling for the release of all political prisoners, freedom of expression and assembly, and an end to widespread discrimination. However, the demonstrations have turned into protests against the Al Saud regime, especially since November 2011, when Saudi security forces killed five protesters and injured many others in the Eastern Province. According to Human Rights Watch, the Saudi regime “routinely represses expression critical of the government.”

Security forces on Wednesday night
killed seven American and NATO militants when they tried to enter Pakistani territory from
Afghanistan. They once again attempted to
enter the territory of Pakistan for terrorism activities but the security
forces personnel were alert and responded immediately and foiled their attempt.
Several terrorists were also injured in the police action.
It is to be mentioned that 15
terrorists and one security official were killed when terrorists attacked a
security check post near Afghanistan border in the Barawal area of Upper Dir on
Friday last. It is crucial to note at this point that Americans had earlier made their intentions public in which they said that joint raids against Pakistan with Afghan puppet army were being planned.

The USZ and several western countries
have expressed reservations on Pak-China cooperation in the nuclear field
during Nuclear Suppliers Group meeting.
The meeting was held in Setal, USZ on
June 21-22.The western countries have raised several questions on construction
of two new nuclear reactors at Chasma Power Plant in Pakistan with collaboration
of China. However, China rejected all their concerns and refused to provide any
information in this regard.

There
were no injuries caused in Wednesday's pre-dawn attack on the main offices of
Microsoft.
Police
say the offices of Microsoft in Athens have been attacked, with assailants
reversing a van through the front entrance and detonating an incendiary device
that sparked a fire.

Police said an initial survey of the
burned-out van indicated the device consisted of camping gas canisters used to
set alight several containers of gasoline.

entrance of the building.
NATO Loses Plane Violating Syrian Airspace

Once
again the Western press preys on the ignorance of the population as a whole,
freely admitting that a Turkish jet entered Syrian airspace (later confirmed
here) but was “a mile into international waters” by the time it was shot down.

Turkish F-4 – manufactured by the US and last used in major combat operations
in Iraq to destroy air defenses, Syria had every right to fire on this aircraft
as it entered Syrian airspace. Even if claims by Turkey are true that it had
retreated to a “mile” over international waters when it was destroyed, that
would mean it was over international waters for a mere 2 seconds. This means
whatever ordnance Syria used was already fired and airborne in Syrian airspace
before the aircraft departed.

Technicalities
The F-4
fighter jet, the newest of which are already around 30 years old, has a top
speed of mach 2.2, or 1,600 mph/2,500 kph. That means in one minute it can
travel 26 miles – or nearly one mile ever 2 seconds.
Any
anti-aircraft weapon fired against Turkey’s admittedly “off course” fighter
aircraft would have certainly been fired while the aircraft was well within
Syrian airspace with the fired ordnance airborne and on course to intercepting
the aircraft before the aircraft traveled back over international waters.
Turkey’s claim of being “a mile” within international airspace may seem
reasonable to the average reader accustomed to traveling at speeds where a mile
is relatively far, but in terms of air combat, a mile equates into seconds.
Turkey,
acutely aware of the immense tensions it itself has cultivated with neighboring
Syria, exercised reckless abandon by traveling so closely to Syrian airspace.
What readers may also be unaware of is the role US-built F-4′s play in scouting
out and neutralizing air defense systems. Designated “wild weasels,” F-4′s had
been extensively used in the opening phases of war against Iraq in 1991, flying
2,596 sorties, firing more than 1,000 air-to-ground missiles, and destroying
more than 200 targets in a campaign aimed at destroying Iraqi air defenses.
Perhaps
hoping the average reader is profoundly ignorant to how speeds, trajectories,
and weapons of modern warfare work, the press has attempted to portray the
downing of the F-4 as a provocative act carried out entirely over international
waters. In reality, Turkey’s jet was fired upon in Syrian airspace, by its own
account, as it was supposedly in “international space” for only one or two
seconds before finally being struck. Syria claims the entire event took place
over Syrian waters – a claim NATO has been unable to refute with anything more
substantial than mere rhetoric.
Act of War
Turkey has
been admittedly harboring, arming, and supporting terrorists within its borders
to destabilize neighboring Syria, according to US policy makers. Turkey has
also made multiple threats against Syria, threatening partial invasion and
conducting blockades. When a Turkish fighter crossed into Syrian airspace,
Syria had every right to believe it was merely the next stage of military
escalation implemented by NATO through its member-state Turkey.
Compounding
Turkey’s provocative violation of Syria’s airspace, at the loss of one of its
fighters, it with NATO’s explicit backing, is trying to escalate an already
unjustified posture of war and aggression against Syria. The United Nations has
been characteristically mute over these brazen violations of world peace as the
West pursues openly a campaign to overthrow the government of Syria and replace
it with a suitable proxy regime of its own preference.
Irony
Turkey has
been fighting its own internal war against its population – one that has
stretched from 1984 and has cost over 40,000 lives – dwarfing UN estimates
based solely on activist hearsay. Turkey’s campaign against its own Kurdish
minority has involved rolling armored columns over them, strafing them from the
air with warplanes, and even chasing them into Iraqi territory with partial
invasions and bombing campaigns sanctioned by the then occupying US military.
Turkey – a
NATO member since 1952 – is a serial violator of human rights within its own
borders and a violator of the sovereignty of its regional neighbors. For it and
its NATO collaborators to pose as the rational forces of stability in the
region is a true spectacle of Orwellian absurdity.
Murdering/Kidnapping
Journalists
Had Syrian
President Bashar al-Assad’s forces kidnapped and murdered journalists
sympathetic to the West’s narrative – relentless accusations of “crimes against
humanity” and referrals to the West’s myriad of “international institutions”
and self-proclaimed international arbiters would have followed. However, the
killers are instead NATO-backed terrorists, if not NATO operatives themselves,
who have raided a TV station, murdered employees and kidnapped others in an
attack celebrated rather than condemned by the Western press as “one of the
boldest attacks yet on a symbol of the authoritarian state” (Reuters).
Despite the
rhetoric emanating from the West in regard to Syria’s “deterioration,” the fact
that statements released by both Russia and Syria are intentionally being
distorted, as well as events on the ground themselves being endlessly
misrepresented, indicates such rhetoric aims more at psychologically attacking
the Syrian people, rather than actually encapsulating actual events as they
unfold. Similar psychological ploys had been used against Libya to great effect
where otherwise outgunned and disorganized fighters were handed victory by a
demoralized and divided Libyan government.
In Syria,
Unity & Perseverance is Key
Imperialism’s
favorite trick throughout time has been to purposefully mire a targeted nation
in internal strife to weaken it before preying on, and ruling over both sides.
This can be seen encapsulated in the following ancient Chinese stratagem:
When a
country is beset by internal conflicts, when disease and famine ravage the
population, when corruption and crime are rampant, then it will be unable to

While it
would likewise suit Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s opponents, it is
particularly important for those who have made the decision to stand by Syria’s
ruling government to stay the course of restoring order and pursuing political
solutions. NATO is systematically destabilizing Syria, sowing the ground for an
easy victory if and when more overt military intervention is attempted.
The
West has gone too far, the credibility of its “institutions” and their
operational capacity are waning by the day, it has no choice but to continue
pushing forward in hopes that all before it lack the fortitude to stand up and
fight. The West will not stop until either Syria is divided and destroyed or
the West itself crumbles in the midst of its untenable imperial conquest.
Defection, capitulation, and failure are not options. Libya has proven that
surrendering to the will of the West ensures not stability and survival, but
ensured perpetual violence, destabilization, and chaos. Syria’s fate will be
that of Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, or worse if it falls. Unity is Syria’s only
option.

Pentagon’s Zombie Satellite Program Comes to Life

Pentagon’s intergalactic black-magic plot is getting ready to raise the dead.

Last year, Darpa launched a program, Phoenix, to
harvest satellite parts. Now, the agency’s convening with researchers and
already looking for a prime sat candidate to pick apart. Illustration:

Dead
satellites, that is. Last year, Darpa, the military’s blue-sky research agency,
kicked off a program designed to harvest parts from unused communications satellites
still orbiting the Earth, and then turn those bits and pieces — antennas in
particular — into an array that operates as a low-cost “communications farm”
for troops on the ground.
Now
that program, called Phoenix, is entering a new phase. First, Darpa last week
issued a bid to commercial satellite owners, asking for “a candidate satellite”
that’ll act as a space-based guinea pig for initial evaluations of the
technology requisite for the initiative. And today, the agency hosted a
conference on “sustainable satellite servicing” — attended by academics,
private companies and military experts — to discuss everything from the
program’s regulatory challenges to more technical “operational considerations”
necessary to revive dead satellites.
Once
fully realized, Darpa envisions the Phoenix program, which the agency wants to
fully demonstrate by 2015, working something like this. First, a servicing
satellite — complete with mechanical arms and other “unique tools” designed
specifically for the program — would be launched into geosynchronous orbit
(GEO). After that, the agency wants to launch an array of what they call
“satlets” — wee, bare-bones satellites — to meet up with, and be stored by, the
program’s primary satellite.
From
there, the satellite posse would transfer to what’s known as GEO’s “graveyard”
orbit — where non-functioning satellites linger — and start picking off
antennas and other useful parts. Once an antenna is removed from its former
satellite, it would be affixed to a satlet, which’d act as a controller to move
the antenna into position as part of a zombified array of recycled satellite
parts.
The
program is “definitely ambitious, and some might call it crazy,” according to
Brian Weeden, a former officer with the USZ Air Force Space Command who
moderated a panel at today’s event. First, there are a host of technical
hurdles for the agency to overcome. Even if they do, Darpa will also need to
address “regulatory challenges” before Phoenix can get up and running, Weeden
emails Danger Room.
On
a technical level, the agency needs to develop new robotic tools capable of
delicate, highly specific satellite work — namely, pulling apart satellites
without damaging key parts — in space. Such “intensive robotic operations [...]
nearly 37,000 km away, will likely require a level of autonomy not seen
before,” Weeden notes. And Darpa’s plan to use satlets to transform antennas
into functional space vessels is also treading untested waters. “To my
knowledge,” Weeden writes, “this is something that has never been done before.”
Darpa
plans to evaluate those primary technical challenges using the candidate
satellite they’re after, which should be “a geosynchronous satellite ending
revenue-generating operations.” In particular, the agency wants to “demonstrate
dextrous manipulation robotics,” including the removal of an antenna, and prove
that the envisioned combination of a servicing satellite and satlets can
“rendezvous and dock” with a candidate in-orbit.
Assuming
the agency’s able to finesse those techniques to perfection, they’ll still
grapple with logistical hurdles. Parking a new satellite in orbit requires
two-pronged approval from the International Telecommunications Union (ITU): an
orbital slot, and a frequency reservation. The process, however, is wrought
with heavy international competition and administrative red tape. According to
an ITU report released earlier this year, backlogs mean it might soon take up
to three years for a satellite — after it’s been approved for GEO orbit — to be
granted a specific slot and frequency.
Despite
the challenges, Darpa is clearly intent on moving ahead. In fact, the agency
last week also awarded their first contract under the Phoenix program: $2.5
million to NovaWurks Inc., a California-based division of Northrop Grumman
dedicated to “rapid innovation in several areas, including space,” company
director Talbot Jaeger tells Danger Room. Jaeger declined to offer more details
on the contract before our deadline, but NovaWurks was last year involved in
the development and testing of Mayflower, an inexpensive microsatellite that
seems akin to Darpa’s “satlet” aspirations.
Of
course, if Darpa does pull off the Phoenix program, it’d mean huge savings for
the Pentagon’s satellite programs. Right now, launching a single satellite runs
around $10,000 per pound of material. With an estimated $300 billion in dead
satellites currently orbiting the GEO graveyard, recycling their functional
parts “would dramatically lower the cost…of satellite missions for Defense
Department needs,” according to Phoenix program manager Dave Barnhart.
In
fact, Phoenix is only one part of a larger Darpa push to save money in space.
In the past year alone, the agency’s appealed for research into cheap, easily
deployable satellites to offer quick footage for soldiers on the ground,
launched a program to replace ground-based satellite launchpads with subsonic
airliners … and kicked off the Galileo program, which seeks enhanced telescopic
imagery to better evaluate dead satellites that might make good candidates for
cannibalism.
And
even after all that effort — not to mention a budget that, for the Phoenix
program alone, is currently pegged at $36 million — Darpa’s galatic zombies
will likely serve the Pentagon’s bidding alone. “I don’t think it is likely
that they will be able to replace the modern satellite,” Weeden writes. “But
[these arrays] could be a useful compliment.”
Don’t blame us, Hamza is Indian, says Pakistan

- Pakistan on Wednesday hit back at India over allegations that Pakistani state
institutions were involved in the Mumbai attacks.
Dismissing
India’s claim that the arrest of 26/11 handler Sayeed Zabiuddin Ansari, also
known as Abu Hamza and Abu Jindal, and the information he has provided to
interrogators, proved that Pakistani state actors were involved in Mumbai
attacks, Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik said “Hazma is
Indian. India is failing to control its citizens.”
Malik
reacted sharply, stating, “Each time India has accused the ISI of involvement
in a terror attack, it has been proved wrong.” Malik said India’s charges
against the ISI were baseless. He said the intelligence agency was protecting
Pakistan and was not involved in carrying out terror strikes.
“I
told (Home Minister) Chidambaram that Hindu extremism is growing in India,” he
told a news conference in Islamabad.
To
another question, Malik said all the procedural formalities were being
completed on the directions of the Interior Ministry for the release of Indian
prisoner Surjeet Singh within next 24 hours while the ministry is looking into
the legal intricacies on a mercy petition of another Indian inmate, Sarabjit
Singh. Malik said Surjeet was being released as a goodwill gesture towards the
neighbouring country.
According
to a source in the Interior Ministry, a joint secretary level officer of the
ministry will hand over Surjeet Sigh to Indian authorities today (Thursday) at
Wagha Border after his release from Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore.
However,
Mr Malik clarified that neither the government had neither decided to release
Sarabjit Singh, also Indian prisoner facing death sentence on terrorism charges
in Pakistan, nor to pardon him. He said that the Interior Ministry was looking
into the mercy petition of Mr Singh as it contained some legal complexities and
it had not even been forwarded to the President for final decision. “However,
When PPP came into power, it had announce to suspend the death sentences of all
prisoners till further orders,” he informed reporters adding that these legal
issues would have to be addressed before his release and a summary would be
sent to President Asif Ali Zardari for final decision after due deliberations
with Law Ministry.
Agencies
add: India’s home minister on Wednesday said Abu Hamza had provided information
confirming Pakistani ‘state support’ for the deadly assault. Chidambaram,
speaking to reporters in the Indian southern state of Kerala, said police
interrogation of Hamza had confirmed Indian accusations that Pakistani state
actors were also involved.
“The
argument that non-state actors were behind the massacre is no longer valid. He
has confirmed that he was in the control room (and) this has confirmed our
suspicion that there was some organised effort,” Chidambaram said. “When I say,
state actors, at the moment, I am not pointing my finger at any particular
agency.
Meanwhile,
India on Wednesday demanded Pakistan to release Sarabjit Singh on immediate
basis. India’s Foreign Minister SM Krishna, while talking to media, said that
Pakistan should sympathetically consider Sarabjit Singh’s case. He said that
all the Indian prisoners who had completed their sentence should be released by
Pakistan.
Indian
Foreign Minister said that India welcomed the release of Surjeet Singh.

Turkey is moving a large number of troops and hardware to the Syrian border, according to Turkish media reports. On Tuesday evening, the Times of Israhell reported:
“As awe-inspiring as Turkey’s friendship is, Turkey’s wrath is equally awe-inspiring,” Erdogan said in a speech delivered before parliament.
Large numbers of Turkish troops — including at least 15 long-range artillery pieces and tanks – moved to the Syrian frontier from the eastern city of Diyarbakir. A video published by the Turkish Cihan News Agency showed Turkish tanks being transported by carrier trucks toward the frontier.Following the shoot-down of a Turkish warplane over Syrian territory, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his military will respond to any future incident.

Shah further said that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in his recent visit to Karachi has attached top priority to maintenance of law and order, so the Police, Rangers and other LEAs should unite and take prompt action against criminals and anti-state elements. He maintained that the overall performance is expected to further improve while proper and sound proofs against the arrested criminals should be collected and submitted to the courts.
The chief minister also stressed that all requirements of law and justice be fulfilled and criminals be brought to book. He hoped that LEAs would submit cases with full evidences in the courts so as to get those criminals convicted accordingly. Shah directed the Police officers to have approach, contacts and frequent meetings with traders, businessmen and industrialists so as to listen their problems and grievances to end extortion and targeted Killings. Shah added that we should come upto the expectations of the people, and the lives and properties of people be protected. He directed that the arrested criminals must be interrogated and challaned in the courts of law. He said, “We have to restore the confidence of people in general and traders, businessmen and industrialists in particular.” He added that crime must be treated as crime and LEAs being the custodian of law should detect the crime and fully defend the law. He made it clear that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
IGP Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, ACS (Home) Sohail Akbar Shah, Deputy DG RangersBrig Muhammad Rafique Khan, Karachi Commissioner Roshan Ali Shaikh, AIG Police Karachi and others briefed the meeting about measures taken to maintain law and order in Karachi. They informed that some of the target killers and extortionists have been arrested and were being interrogated. They assured chief minister that joint efforts of Police, Rangers and other LEAs would yield better results.
